I think it was mostly non-rated officers and senior NCOs who lived in these green buildings. Many of the fliers had trailers. Behind these buildings was a pool - pretty popular in that climate. Of course when you worked at night, it was not always easy to sleep during the day with a noisy pool outside the window!
