Title: In Awe
I'm standing in awe. Music, clamor, 76 people all working together to accomplish one thing, finish the spinach. It's what I was hearing in the spaces between piano sounds, 23 people talking loudly, 72 people armed with metal forks, spoons, knives, and trays and Oscar singing the blues, "Finish the Spinach, finish the spinach, finish the spinach, finish the spinach, finish the spinach bettaaah than the spinach.." But there's a momentary silence as I realize everyone here, all 76 of them (you) are looking at what used to be My Big Wet Spot. Here comes Sis. Sweet sweet Sis gently nudging me, turning me away from the spinach people, into Jake's office, reeking of it's own smells and silences. Sis, Oh Sis, I'm saying maybe to myself, Where have you been? I, as I'm thinking these thoughts (or saying them), wonder where I've been too. Did someone bring me here after the car explosion? rev.e.nant \'rev-*-.na:n, -n*nt\ n [F, fr. prp. of revenir to return] : one that returns after death or a long absence - revenant aj Brother Oscar's playing again but the song has changed from Lighting Hopkins to George Gershwin. Formalism by any other name... Love ya, have a great Thursday. d.
