Title: Rhymed Dream
Sitting on the bank of a dry wash, alone.
It's dead quiet and dry as a bone.
A roadrunner darts from under a bush,
sees me, hesitates, and with a whoosh
attacks a rattlesnake, red diamondback
which had slithered near me, about to attack.
The roadrunner tosses the snake into the air,
and leaps to snatch it, but instead the pair
disappear, like maybe an act of gramarye!
Probably the work of my friend, Azi.
Azi appears, or his doppelganger does,
and he says, "My son, please fly, because
in Gila Bend you'll see me, and I have news.
Quit this dream, you must wake from your snooze,
Your sister, mother, and others you love
are in danger so make haste and fly like a dove!!"
I wake with a start, sitting straight up in bed
The tequila I drank last night killed my head.
I gotta get goin', ride like hades,
Save Sis and Bell, two wonderful ladies.
