Title: A cold toast

"Where did Azi go after he abandoned us and rode off into the night? Did he
stay in contact with anyone?"

"He told me he went north, into upper Canada, where he holed-up in some
hyperborean hideout. Bell says all he took with him was a large stash of
peyote and a bunch of other psycoactive stuff he had collected, like herbs..."

"Do you think he left because a wife and two kids drove him nuts. Like a
trapped free spirit or was there someone else?" I shiver at Sis' gelid
reaction to my sarcasm.

"Maybe. He told me Bell was his only inamorata, next to the herbs which
allowed him to dream and heal others," she says slowly, patiently. She holds
her metal mug toward me and says, without uttering a sound,
"Now that you remember what's happened,
it's time to forget the pain."
