Title: Claire's Exit!!
As Claire pushed herself through Jake, Sis, me, Vern,
and a couple other customers at Bikers, I couldn't tell if
she was laughing or crying. It was obvious that her emotional
makeup, for the past few minutes was chaotic and
in shreds.

She stumbled down the ramp which acted as an
entrance to Bikers and did an abrupt about-face. We
had all moved to the door and were looking out to watch
her go, Sis off to the side and I peering over Jake's
shoulder out onto the parking lot in front. Claire was
quite a sight with her hair impossibly tangled and roughly
pinned on top of her head, black leather jacket nowopen
down the front revealing her bandaged ribs and bruised
left breast and black levis with bike boots unzipped.
Holding the metal device high above her head she
screamed, "Go to bloody Hell!" and threw the device
at us.
I could actually see the red light blinking as the object sped
toward us but for some reason I didn't feel the need to
duck or run -- which left Sis and I standing in the doorway
alone. Everyone had scampered and hurried back into
bikers to save themselves! It seemed like minutes were
passing rather than seconds.
I didn't see her do it, but Sis took several steps toward
the launched contraption and batted it back at Claire
as if it were a tennis ball. Luckily Claire had fallen after
throwing it and was lying on the ground by the time
the thing exploded above her.
She was ok but had several small pieces of burning
material on and around her.
"Shit! I was hoping to blow her to smithereens!" Sis
shouted over the loud ringing in my ears.
