Title: LiftOff

Yates and Sis were working over a pile of
photos, images and captions the Graphics & Art
section had submitted. Yates had a good eye for
good art and Sis was able to put certain elements
together which created interest, brought attention
to themselves without offending.

"Sorry to hear Len is leaving."
"Yeah, the Center will miss him."

"Let's go for a ride. I need a break and I think you do
too. If we don't go together I won't trust you to relax,
so let's go."
Yates started to object but instead stood up, offered
his hand to Sis, and both sought out jackets, helmets,
and met in the parking lot where the Yates Machine
was waiting.

"Want to ... drive?"
"Really?"
"Yeah, let's go."

Sis mounted the Yates Machine and Yates settled
himself behind her.

"Where shall this chariot take us?
"Let's be back by lunch, tomorrow, ok?"

Sis's smile grew as did her intumescent feelings
for Yates (and his Machine).

"Ok, how about the La Punta? I hear there's a poker
run."
"OK."

Liftoff! For the first time Yates flew. The Machine took
them, under Sis' skilled direction, toward TeeJay.
Skyward floating through the wisps of fog which was
invading beautifying the coastline.

Monday's upon us.
