Title: Mopping up
I'm mopping the kitchen floor, Doris is cleaning out
the garbage disposal which was jammed full of
feathers and which caused the Bikers Flood of April,
1995. Jake had prepared and served the pheasant
feast to Bikers' regulars, then left for parts unknown
as soon as he heard I was on my way. Although we
are no longer serving food, and the only thing left to
drink in the place is a "keg" of Joy Juice, we have
customers.
When Oscar plays , Bikers has customers.
On the aluminum piano Oscar's bravura
has been going on for the last 3 hours,
and it appears as if he will continue for quite awhile.

"Are we about ready to go?"
"Yes, I just pulled the last pheasant feather from
this monster disposal. I'm ready when you are. Will
Oscar close up?"
"He told me he would play until everyone left.
He plans to catch a ride to La Punta. They need a
piano player for a couple days and he's available..."
So off we go, Southbound, and then wherever the
run might take us. I have to admit that all this seems
very familiar -- but I'm still struggling to remember.
Happy Monday to ya'all!
