Title: Ironic smiles

Harley's humming! Desert warmth engulfs us like
a soft quilt as we speed and fly toward the Lazy
Lizard in Ocotillo, CA. Harley propels us through
the thick damp air of El Centro alfalfa fields in the
dead of early 3 a.m. Tucked in my pocket is the
Queen of Hearts with an ironic smile on her face.
We're moving so fast that the headlights of on-
coming traffic leave light-lines in the moonless
dark of desert night.

Joey ended up in the hospital with a concussion and
a badly bruised larynx. The blood was from his nose
which he banged on a table when I jumped on him
from behind. All this information, whether it is true or
not is from Doris asshe inveighed me for leaving, on
Harley, without her.
She was pissed. Her first card was a 3 of spades.

in.veigh \in-'va_-\ vb : to protest or complain bitterly or
  vehemently : RAIL.

She did go on and on about it but I got away just
about the time the TJ cops showed up for their
perfunctory bribes and probable arrest-power. I
saw them giving Sis and Claire a pretty bad time.

This is truly my place, on Harley, drifting flying
lifting-off through and above the sweet fragrances
of free air and the rest of all of them be damned!

bai.li.wick \'ba_--li-.wik\ n : one's special province
or domain. SYN: territory, field, sphere.

In my daze, I wonder if I haven't sent this already??
Hmmm. Truth or illusion?
Hap-----py Thursday.

luv,
de
