The USS Arizona Memorial is a memorial to all the military personnel who died in the Pear Harbor attack.  The first picture is of the outside of the memorial as we approached on the boat.  This memorial was built in 1961 and is treated as a national cemetery.  The second picture is taken from the memorial is is a picture of gun turret number 2.  This is the largest piece of the battleship that is above the water.  The guns them selves were salvaged shortly after the attack and reused on.   Below the picture of the gun turret is an oil drop floating on the surface.  Oil still leaks from the ship.  Most of the leaking oil is caught in bags so it does not pollute the harbor but some leaks out of other places.  The model in the lower left is in the visitors center and shows how the memorial is oriented over ship.
