Here are a few things that interest most of us.
- Church - Have you gotten the idea that we are a
"God fearing people" maybe a bit "peculiar," but hey
When you know what we know, and you know that God knows ...
what are you going to do?
- Poetry - Edgar A Guest - Home & It Couldn't Be
Done; and James Whitcomb Riley - Little Orphan
Annie, The Raggedy Man, Our Hired Girl; were some of our
favorites
- Gardening - Gardening has been a part of our
lives mostly as a result of the direction from the Lord
through modern prophets - that we be self sufficient
in all things including keeping a garden.
- Food Storage etc.-
A key to self sufficiency is
maintaining a year's supply o f the necessities.
Whether canning
yourself or buying in bulk it's easier than one might
think to get started.
- Family Reunions -
We try to get together every
two years. It's pretty hard when you have many
siblings with two reunions per family (Patriarchal &
Matriarchal) but we find it help not only for us older folks
but more importantly to reinforce a sense of self-identity
in the rising generation. Here are some links to help
you plan one.
- Genealogy - It's fun to know who you
are and where you come from ... what kind of stock you're
made of. Plus you're helping fulfill prophecy: "And he
shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the
heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and
smite the earth with a curse." Malachi 4:6
