In the Beginning Was the Word ! by Eighth Day Assembly There has been much insight regarding the biblical term, "In the beginning....." according to Genesis 1:1, and in our blessed Yeshua Messiah as the Word of God according to John 1:1-3, and Revelation 22:13. In addressing Yeshua Messiah as the Word of God........ John 1:1-3 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Revelation 3:14 ...These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; What is Alpha and Omega? Alpha and Omega are actually the names of the FIRST and the LAST letters of the Greek alphabet! As you can see there appears to be some sort of connection between letters of the alphabet, words, and creation! The understanding of Yeshua Messiah as the Word cannot be fully appreciated unless it can also be viewed from the Hebraic perspective, because the ideas portrayed in all of these verses and many others are very, very Jewish in nature! Since Yeshua was a Jew as well as John the author of the gospel of John and perhaps the book of Revelation they more than likely spoke and wrote in Hebrew which was later translated into Greek. Therefore, what is actually being said here is that not only is Yeshua Messiah the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, the Alpha and Omega, but is also the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet, the Aleph and Tav. Since there are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet it is no coincidence that this passage is in Revelation Chapter "22"! This passage also states that Yeshua Messiah is the first and the last, the beginning and the end, meaning the first or beginning letter of EVERY alphabet, and the last or ending letter of EVERY alphabet! It also states above that he is the beginning of the creation of God and in the beginning with God. What makes this even more interesting is that there is now massive evidence that before the scattering of the tongues at the Tower of Babel there was only one language on earth, and that language was Hebrew, the original language of EDEN! Genesis 11:9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth. Absolutely all of the languages on earth have their roots in Hebrew. Professor Isaac Mozeson (see Edenics: The Original Language of Eden) has done much research, and written many books and articles on the Hebrew roots of the English language, including every other language on earth. What this means is that EVERY alphabet on earth has its roots in the Hebrew alphabet. Therefore, EVERY alphabet's source is the Aleph - Tav, which includes the Greek Alpha - Omega, as well as the English A - Z! To be "THE" Word, the Aleph - Tav, is to be the author and source of EVERY tongue on earth! Who says English is not inspired? or Greek? or French? or German? or every other language on earth? If the source of all languages are in the Hebrew Aleph - Tav, then all languages ARE inspired, and part of the Holy language THE WORD! We see Him everywhere, no matter where we look, He is there! Judaism teaches that the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet are actually the 22 building blocks of creation, each letter being a spark of LIGHT in creation. The number 22 in scripture is the number for light (Meanings of Biblical Numbers) making the connection between words, the Hebrew alphabet, LIGHT, and creation! This connection between alphabets, words, light, and creation is nowhere more profound than the scripture in Genesis 1:3, which states: Genesis 1:3 And God SAID, let there be LIGHT........ Hebrew Aleph~Beit This light that was SPOKEN forth in Genesis 1:3, is the light of the creative powers of the 22 Hebrew letters! It is right here that the 22 Hebrew letters were dispersed for the purpose of creation! As we will see later, before this time the letters had been condensed or compacted, in Genesis 1:1! We see this idea of letters and creation connected most profoundly in the Jewish mystical text called, Sefer Yetzirah ~ the Book of Formation , which we have included at this web site for your viewing. The 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet are the building blocks of creation. Words are formed by letters. Letters are actually the building blocks of words ! Jewish sages teach that words represent full or large consciousness, and letters represent particular or small consciousness. Each Hebrew letter has a name, a meaning, a numerical value or weight, a shape, a placement in the alphabet, plus many, many other aspects (see Mystical Significance of the Hebrew Letters). In that sense, every word of the Hebrew Bible can be measured in many, many different ways, by meaning, or counting, or whatever method, and YES, even with Bible Codes! The Word was dispersed for the purpose of the creation of reality, therefore everything in reality can be found there, and anything in the Word can be found in reality, because THEY ARE THE SAME! Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: There are many critics who knock Bible Code research. Those who knock it do not realize that the words, the letters of the Bible are, indeed, the powers of creation from beginning to end ! Since ALL of creation was created by the letters from the beginning to the end just as the Bible states (And God said... Gen. 1:3), why would NOT the history of every person, place, event, or thing be recorded there? The critics state the Bible cannot be used as a fortune teller to predict the future. It's not understood that creation and history itself is a Book that was crafted and written with the Words of the Word, and God has already purposed the ending ! The Bible cannot be used to predict the future, however, the future can be found there whether before or after the fact, because it has already been recorded there from the beginning to the end (I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Rev. 22:13, The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass;...Rev. 1:1 )! I recently spoke with someone who stated that not only are the actual events recorded there, but so is each and every scenario, or possible outcome for that specific event. There are some wonderful statements made recently on History Channel's Decoding the Past series, by Rabbi Mordechai Gafni, of Bayit Chadash Israel that this ministry believes to be utterly profound: "...The Bible isn't a text, the Bible is a living organism, it's alive, it's a mystic divine being, it participates in divinity, it's not written BY God, it's OF God." "...everything that ever was, is, or will be is found in the Torah, is found in this sacred writ we call the Bible." Likewise, as Dr. Asali Zaki states at his web site Bible Codes regarding Nachmanides, and the Vilna Gaon: "Nachmanides, in the introduction to his commentary on Genesis, says : ''Everything is written in the Torah, explicitly or implicitly, hinted in words, in numerical values, in the shape of the letters ( whether written in regular or altered form ) , or in the tips and crownlets of the letters. '' In the 18th century the greatest Jewish thinker of his time, Rabbi Elijah Solomon, known as the Vilna Gaon, said "All that was, is, and will be unto the end of time is included in the Torah, the first five books of the Bible".!" We as Christians know and understand it is not limited to just the first 5 books of the Bible, but to EVERY book of the Bible, both Old and New Testament, the Aleph/Tav, and Alpha/Omega. Yes, mankind may try to alter the words of the Bible through varying translations, but the Book has already been written! Most do not understand that the Words of the Bible are MYSTICAL, and cannot be changed or altered! Since the resurrection of Yeshua Messiah, the Words of the Bible are etched and inscribed by the Holy Spirit (not man!) in the hearts of believers! 2 Corinthians 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart. It does not matter what the translation! Yeshua Messiah the Word is greater than any translation! The Bible is a PERSON and he is faithful even if we are not! If you believe on the person who keeps the words in himself the Holy Spirit will lead and guide you no matter what translation you are using. Don't let anyone try to intimidate you into one certain translation of the Bible over another, because Messiah is greater than any translation, and lives in your heart, and knows how to minister to you no matter where you are at! When I teach my grandchildren the Bible, I read them their stories out of the little children's Bible. Yeshua knows how to minister His grace to them right where they are at. Yeshua loves us in the little children's Bible as well as in the original Hebrew and Greek Bible! Have confidence in whom you have believed, Yeshua Messiah! It is the words that keep all things together! We see this wonderful, wonderful truth in the scripture: Colossians 1:16-19 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; Earlier in this article I stated that the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet were the 22 building blocks of creation, each letter a spark of light that was dispersed in Genesis 1:3: And God SAID let there be light... That light being the dispersion of the 22 letters of creation that were previously concentrated in Genesis 1:1. In order to look at the beauty of this truth we need to look at the Hebrew words in Genesis 1:1: Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. This is what this verse looks like in Hebrew. It reads from right to left, the English just below it: the earth and the heavens   God created In the beginning As you look at this verse you might be wondering why there is nothing there for the word right after 'God' and before 'the heavens.' It's the Hebrew word eth (pronounced ayth, or et Strong's # H853). The reason there is no translation is because this word is not translatable in English. You will not find this word in any English translation of the Bible. However, in Hebrew, the word generally precedes some words, or connects the words before it with the words after it. You would not know this word was there unless you were reading it in the Hebrew. This is a very interesting word because of it's spelling. From right to left, the letter is an Aleph which is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. The next letter is Tav, the last letter of the alphabet! Right here we have the first and the last, which is identical to the Alpha, the first letter of the Greek alphabet, and the Omega, the last letter of the Greek alphabet! That little word right there in Genesis 1:1 is MESSIAH, the SON! When you have the first letter and the last letter together what is being said is that it encompasses and includes all the letters in between! What makes it even more amazing is that the untranslated spelling for this particular word is used 22 times in the Old Testament text connecting it with the 22 Hebrew letters, and the number 22 for Light, confirming in more ways than one that this word is, indeed, the Aleph-Tav, the Alpha-Omega, the Son, the Messiah, the Word ! (Note: the translated spelling for H853 in Genesis 1:1, above, is generally spelled Vav, Aleph, Tav, and used many times as the word, "and." The untranslated spelling Aleph, Tav is used only 22 times.) Because the contains all the 22 letters of creation in it, they are condensed, or packed into one beginning and end, in Genesis 1:1. The burst of the letters of creation in all there glory happens in Genesis 1:3, where And God SAID let there be light...The 22 letters of light burst forth in all their glory to create the BOOK OF LIFE, from the beginning to the end! This is how it was possible that Yeshua had the authority to say in John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. The first 3 words of the Bible are In the beginning created God... What many do not realize is that the very first letter that begins the Bible is the Hebrew letter Beit. This is the 2nd letter of the Hebrew alphabet comparable to the English letter, B. The meaning of the letter Beit is house, has a numeric value of 2, and is a feminine letter! Because it is a feminine letter Judaism states that this particular word bereshith could be interpreted "WITH the beginning..." instead of "IN the beginning..." Therefore, these opening words could read, "With the beginning created God..." suggesting a Father, Mother, and Son ! Because of this beautiful picture in the words, what we see here are God the Father and Mother creating all things in the Son! So, here you have it in the very first opening words of the Bible, God the Father, Mother, and Son, all actively involved together as the authors of creation! Praise God! Earlier I stated that the purpose of this word, , although unspoken in English, connects the words preceding it with the words following it. What are the words preceding it? It's the first 3 words, "With the beginning created God..." and the words following it, the last 3 words, "the heavens and the earth." There is a Jewish teaching that states, As above, so below.... What this means is that all the fulness of the Godhead flows downward into the , and all the things below it are absorbed upward into where in the ALL MEET TOGETHER AS ONE! Praise God! Can you see it? The Aleph~Tav, the Alpha~Omega, the Son, the Word, is the center, the core, the unity, the meeting place for the FAMILY OF GOD in one place, one body! We see this magnificent mystery revealed in... Colossians 2:9-10 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: There is ONE BODY, his body, which is all in all! As above, so below... What is above is the Godhead flowing into the Son. What is below is the heavens and the earth being absorbed up into the Son. How is it that we are being absorbed up? The answer is the EMPTY TOMB! The Resurrection of the Son! The scripture says: Ephesians 4:8-10 8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. 9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) The empty tomb is like a black hole in the universe. When it became empty it poked a hole into this dimension of reality and created a suction LIKE A MIGHTY WIND that is absorbing ALL THINGS back into Himself ! 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; As above, so below.... From the very opening words of the Bible in Genesis 1:1, the plan of salvation was both manifest and concealed in the Son, . And, as the word reveals, connects the above Godhead with the below reality of heaven and earth into one unity, one body, ONE WORD, ONE BOOK! In the first 3 words of Genesis 1:1, Yeshua Messiah was promised. In Genesis 1:3, Yeshua Messiah became the "generations of history," unto his first coming, at which time he is now, by his resurrection absorbing back into himself as he was in Genesis 1:1, what was burst forth in Genesis 1:3! The Hebrew Aleph~Tav in Genesis 1:1 is also the Alpha~Omega of EVERY alphabet on earth whose source is included in the Holy Alphabet of the Book of Life. As time itself was rolled out like a scroll from the initial creation to the birth of Yeshua Messiah, likewise time is being rolled up again, from the Resurrection of Messiah to this very day. Revelation 6:14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. When the absorption of time is complete we shall all be home again in one place with the family of God, as in Genesis 1:1. Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. People wonder why it is that the biblical events of times past appear to be happening again in this current time. The reason for this is ECHOES. Because all of reality are letters and words in a Book of Life people forget God's Book is not a book like ours with a binding. This Book of Life is a SCROLL, and as the scroll of time was rolled out the events occurred, but now that time is being rolled back, the letters touch from times past and we experience in the here and now, ECHOES of previous days! The echo events are not identical, because they are echoes, but they are definitely like in character! These echoes will continue until the day there is no more to be rolled, no more to be absorbed, and we are returned again to our family in a New Heaven and New Earth in , the Son, the Aleph~Tav, Alpha~Omega, the Word, Messiah our King. As the letters burst forth from in Genesis 1:1 in the form of light, and creation, likewise it is absorbed back into itself from whence it came, into the glorious Light of the Lamb........ Revelation 21:23-24 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. 24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
