How to Choose the Right Road

Many of us don't realize that we're on a journey. We won't reach our destination until we leave this earth. But, while here on earth, the road we take determines our destination.

The choice of our destination consists of only two places: Hell, which is eternal destruction, or Heaven, which is eternal life. Maybe you don't remember choosing a particular destination. The Bible tells us that we do have a choice of which road we want to take. One road is easier to travel than the other, but that doesn't mean it's the right one.

"Well, which road does the Bible say I should take?" (I'm glad you asked!)

2 ROADS

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." Matthew 7:13-14 (NIV)
How do I find the right way? Well, you know what? That question was asked of Jesus by one of His disciples many years ago. Jesus' response was:
"Jesus answered, 'I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'" (John 14:6)
ONE WAY Jesus is saying that the only road to eternal life with God in Heaven is "through Me." You see, God loved you so much that He sent His own Son, Jesus, to earth.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
Even though He is God, it wasn't an easy thing to do. Why? Well, because Jesus had to die.
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
DEAD END
He had to die so that you might live forever with Him. The Bible tells us that:
"For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)
That's right! Sin has caused us all to fall short of God's glory. Sin separates us from God. Sin also leads to death (eternal destruction).
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10)
This road to eternal life would not have been completely paved if it weren't for one more very important thing that Jesus did. He rose again.
"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures" (1 Cor. 15:3-4).
John 14:6 That means He is alive right now. And because He lives, He has defeated death. Jesus perfectly paved the road that leads to eternal life. Do you want to access it?
"That if you confess with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9 NIV)

Why don't you make that choice right now?
Choose the right road.
Here's how:

    Are you ready?
  1. Confess to God that you are a sinner.
  2. Repent of (turn from) your sins.
  3. Believe that Jesus died for you, and that He rose again.
  4. Pray to invite Jesus to come into your life right now. (Receive Him as your Lord and Savior.)
  5. If you have been sincere in the previous 4 steps, you can believe that Jesus has now come into your heart, and you have been born again.

The Sinner's Prayer: "Lord Jesus Christ, I know I am a sinner and do not deserve eternal life. But, I believe You died and rose from the grave to purchase a place in heaven for me. Lord Jesus, come into my life; take control of my life; forgive my sins and save me. I repent of my sins and now place my trust in you for my salvation. I accept the free gift of eternal life."
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life." (John_6:47)

How can you be sure of this? The Bible tells us:

"He that has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the Name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life." (1 John 5:12-13)
Did you make that choice? Congratulations! You are now on the right road, my friend. And one day that road will lead you right into Heaven. I'll see you there!

Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me;
See, on the portals He's waiting and watching,
Watching for you and for me.

Come home, come home,
Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies,
Mercies for you and for me?

Come home, come home,
Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
Passing from you and from me;
Shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
Coming for you and for me.

Come home, come home,
Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

O for the wonderful love He has promised,
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon,
Pardon for you and for me.

Come home, come home,
Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves:
[it is] the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(Eph. 2:8-9)
