AAUW Tustin - Groups

Our Interest Groups developed as part of our commitment to intellectual growth, friendship, support and just plain "fun". We've found them to fulfill all of the above and then some!

The Evening Book Group meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in a member's home, on a rotating basis, to discuss a selected book. A committee selects the books at the beginning of the branch year, with input from the group's members. An outing is planned each year to a unique and sometimes "funky", but always "fun", bookstore and luncheon.

Regular attendance is not required. New readers are always welcome. This group is open to members only.

The Morning Book Group meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 9:30 a.m. in a member's home, on a rotating basis, to discuss a selected book. A committee selects the books at the beginning of the branch year, with input from the group's members.

The Bridge Group meets every 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in a member's home, on a rotating basis.

New players are always welcome. A substitute list is maintained. This group is open to members only.

The Daywalkers Group meets monthly on random weekend days for moderate level hikes, nature walks, bird watching, historical and cultural events. A minimum of one and often more than one weekend event is planned each year. Some of the places visited in the past have been Anzo-Borrego, Temecula, Ojai Valley, Big Bear, Palm Springs, and Julian, to name a few. Some past local adventures have included nature conservatories, museums, gardens and arboretums.

The group is open to members and guests.

Alta Laguna Park - Aliso & Woods Canyon Hike

The Movie Buffs/Lunch Bunch Group meets monthly on random week days (generally Thursday). The time changes depending upon the venue. The movie and location of the lunch are selected by the hostess the week before the movie. Members meet for lunch or the movie or both. Members are notified via e-mail of the movie selection, restaurant and time to meet. Members who are not "wired" are asked to contact the hostess by phone to learn details of the upcoming event.
