Danish-born Anna Ancher, the daughter of a grocer/hotel owner in Skagen, studied art in Copenhagen at the Art School for Women (the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts did not accept women) and in Paris under Puvis de Chavannes. Her genre paintings and portraits often feature women at work and a characteristic patch of sunlight from a window reflected on a wall. She and her artist husband (Michael Ancher) were part of the impressionist group known as the "Skagen Painters," with Anna being the only woman in the group.Biography

I'm assuming Queen Louisa of Denmark was the wife of Christian IX, King of Denmark. However, I cannot sort out all the Louisas and queens. Any Royal Watchers who can clarify and provide biographical details?
