• Quickly and easily split ANY file into segments for easy archival to external media like DVD-R, CD-R, Zip™ or floppy disks.

Do you have a large Windows Backup file of 2GB, 4GB, 10GB, or one even larger than 150GB? AccuSplit’s Standard Split mode can easily split this (or any other) file into pieces for storage on DVD or CD. These file segments can then be recombined at a later time into an exact copy of the original file. Additionally, to insure that the reconstructed file exactly matches your original source file AccuSplit incorporates an advanced cryptographic algorithm that computes an MD5 Message Digest for the original file, the file segments, and the reconstructed file. An MD5 Message Digest match between these files indicates with absolute certainty that no data was lost during the file split and reconstruction process.

• Integrated Data Compression capability that allows you to create compressed file segments so that you can maximize the amount of data that can be placed on your archive media

• Full Command Line Support so that you can use it to perform unattended operations in batch scripts or other automated processes.

Archiving your important files or data backups to removable CD or DVD media is a well recognized method of protecting these files from loss. But what happens if some of the archive disks become damaged or misplaced? The first thing to remember is that it is much easier save your data than it is to recover it. However, AccuSplit makes it incredibly easy to do both. The software can create file segments that are embedded with a very powerful error correction mechanism. Patterned after the Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) technology that is used in high-availability and enterprise-grade environments, AccuSplit's Create RAID File Segments option allows the software to correct for data errors on damaged media. Errors ranging from a single corrupted data byte on a scratched CD to an entirely missing file segment are fully correctable with this option.

Do you have a large MPEG-1, DV-AVI (Digital camcorder), standard AVI (including DIVX, XVID, and Indeo), WMV, WMV-HD (720p, 1080i, 1080p), or even a DVR-MS (Windows Media Center) format video file that you would like to split into independently playable segments that can be played directly from CD/DVD? Simply select your video, click the Video File Smart Split option, select the size you want for the file segments, and click the SPLIT button – that’s it! AccuSplit’s special Smart Split technology enables it to quickly split your video files without having to perform any time consuming and video quality degrading re-rendering of the video content. • Transcoding capability for DV-AVI files which allows you to easily convert your DV files between the Type-1 and Type-2 DV formats. The Smart Split technology insures that no re-rendering is required during the transcoding process.

• Full Command Line support allows AccuSplit to perform unattended operations within batch script files.

AccuSplit also includes a special Preview Split Points option (screen_shot) that allows the user to preview the video segments and to optionally adjust the start and stop locations for each file segment. This way you can easily adjust the file split points so that they occur at the optimum time – meaning you will no longer have to tolerate splits that occur in the middle of an important scene. The Preview Window also includes several features typically found only in larger, more complicated (and more expensive!) video editing applications. These features include:

• A frame stepping function that lets the user manually single-step though the video clip using the cursor keys. The step increment is adjustable in selectable intervals ranging from a single frame to five minutes. 

• An advanced frame detection algorithm that can automatically detect special marker frames like keyframes, black frames, and fade-point frames within your video.

• A frame capture function that enables you to capture an individual video frame and to save that frame as a bitmap ( *.BMP ) file.

All of these features make it incredibly easy to create precise, professional-looking video splits with only a few clicks of your mouse. 

• NO Spyware – NO Adware – NO Nagware.

Application installation software like InstallShield has done wonders for the software industry. Configured correctly they make it possible for a novice user to quickly install even the most complex software application. Unfortunately, application installation software can also be used for other, less "proper" purposes, like the installation of Spyware and Adware. When you run an installation package for a shareware product you literally have no idea what is being installed onto your system – you only hope that it doesn’t break anything. To address the security concerns that many users have regarding shareware we have designed AccuSplit to function as a stand-alone executable – there is nothing to install. To begin working with AccuSplit you simply extract the AccuSplit executable from the downloaded ZIP file and double-click on it. If for some reason you don’t like the software - just delete it – that’s it.

• Performance and stability were never after-thoughts.

AccuSplit has been designed from the ground up to deliver high performance with rock-solid stability. Because splitting extremely large files can be a time consuming process on even the speediest system AccuSplit’s core software code has been specially tuned to insure that it exacts the greatest possible performance from your system. Additionally, AccuSplit’s Video File Smart Split mode incorporates a special "Smart Rendering" technology that enables it to split your video files without having to perform any time consuming re-rendering of the video content. Many competing products accomplish this same task by completely re-rendering each split segment. Unfortunately, this method results in you spending a lot more time waiting for the split to complete and it could also lead to degraded picture quality because you are needlessly re-rendering your video. With AccuSplit we spent a little extra time developing our software so that you don’t have to spend as much time using it!

• Size does matter.

In the software industry bigger is definitely not better – especially if bigger doesn’t offer any new features.
