Arizona Corrections Employees M/C

Tucson  Chapter

Last Meeting Minutes

TREASURER'S REPORT: Last reported on 03-07-04  Balance was $228.36

RIDES CHOSEN:  We have elected to ride to Globe for lunch on Sunday April 18th

We will meet at Tucson Mall in the Sears parking lot at 0800 hrs.

OLD BUSINESS: Discussed contacting other agencies for new members.

Discussed distributing updated member roster.

Jim will do this today.  Discussed LETR Poker Run solicitation results.

Donations are accumulating rather slowly but we

have some really nice prizes already.  The card stops are nailed down and volunteers are

staged for many of them.

NEW BUSINESS: All members present volunteered to help with the Poker Run at

registration.

We decided that the following issues are to be voted on by all

Charter Members: (1) Should the Club pay for the Ride Pins if we are reimbursed from

proceeds?

 (2) Should the surplus T-Shirts (after sales, pre-registered and volunteers get theirs) be

raffled or sold at a reduced price?

(3) Should we explore a “sew-on” ACE logo Ride Patch for this event?

We also discussed many fundraising ideas.

Selling leather goods cards and flyers to be made but not to be posted on boards at work,

ACE Yard Sale where we all donate items and proceeds go to our account and the

leftovers are donated to Goodwill

(could be combined with a Church event), a Bike Wash where Nurses gently clean away

the wounds on your bike from insect suicide attacks and road grime.

We encouraged each other to find more

fundraising ideas and submit them for consideration.

Laura said she would contact Ben Franklin Craft Store for donation of Poker Run Sign materials and supplies.

Jim said he would re-contact Berky’s to see if we can still get a band for this event and Peppers Cantina for a donation

of a kettle of chili made by Angel.

We discussed having 3 overnight rides per year that may be in conjunction with

Phoenix Chapter

(they have some really great rides).  They go to Rocky Point, Laughlin and other cool places.

Check the web site pictures.  We discussed how to vote on issues and that email would

be the preferred method.

If your vote isn’t cast on time, I will call and solicit your preference.

Votes are confidential but will be recorded and kept on file for thirty days.

I feel a four day time limit on voting is sufficient.

Ross stated he has pre-registered for the Poker Run and Gayle is sending hers in on

Monday.

Volunteers get free t-shirts, so if you pre-register, you will end up with 2 shirts.

Meeting was adjourned at 0915 hrs.
