Appreciation

Looking through my eyes, so many times I’ve seen the sun rise

Yet, I question

Will I ever appreciate all bestowed on me?

I look into your eyes, for the hundredth time I’m lying beside, you

Will I ever appreciate you, appreciate you

Time will always pass us by

I will continue to try

To accelerate my options

To make the most of my day

And as I’m blessed with my requests

I continue to request more

Never slowing down to realize I’ve opened these doors many times before

Achieving that which once were dreams

Dreams are now diminishing

Yet, I forge ahead, a blind soldier

Ignorant of all I circumvent

And I trod my path with you beside me

Contemplate that which drives thee

To endure, this journey

On a vessel occupied by my, insanity

Wrapped in this façade for society’s benefit

I’m only content when the benefit’s for me

Trapped in my hypocrisy

Never knowing which of my stories

I should believe.
