I'm Gonna Buy You  [play]

Here’s a little ditty I wrote, while staring at a bank note, that evoked fear and steered me out to purchase even more…

I’m gonna buy you,

Everything I can because I’m focused on keeping pace with the Jones’s

I’m gonna buy you, a little M class car

That your neighbors can adore but you can’t afford... to insure

Found in my mailbox, a check from bank of nowhere USA that said I could have 75 grand

I’m gonna buy you, a little statue of Jesus, statue of Donald Trump, statue of Ed McMann

I’m going to leverage all that debt, and let the bank deal with the upset, I’m going concentrate on never being late to the store

Wait no more, pay no more, well that’s the motto that I adore as I try to figure out what the hell people see in modesty

I’m gonna buy you, a TV a DVD, one of everything and were never gonna worry about payin’ any of our bills

Startled in the middle of a dream 2 am staring at the TV screen man on the infomercial telling me to consolidate

Well I can hear that man talking when Guido comes knockin’, I’m gonna pay him off with one of those bogus checks that I got in the mail and magnetized to my refrigerator.

I’m gonna buy you some expensive art by somebody named Picasso, somebody named van (where did all my money) Gogh

Wrapped up in all this debt, I'm living pay check to pay check I believe that this is Webster’s idea of the American Dream.

I’m gonna buy you, everything in the United States and then I’m gonna take some Novocain for my checkbook.
