In the Rain

There’s a cool wind blowing ‘cross the plains from the west.

Feels like the rains coming in

And I can feel in my heart an attraction to you.

I can feel the rain coming in

Cause when times come along when we can’t agree

And times when you feel like your losing me

When you need someone to talk to, to comfort your pain

Honey, I’ll meet you on the porch in the rain.

And I can feel the breeze as it blows through the trees

Raindrops are starting to fall

And I’m thinking to myself how much you mean to me

Raindrops are starting to fall.

And pulling up the drive I see you sitting there

And walking up to you our hearts meet there

Kissing your cheek I hand you a rose

As for the rest of the day, only the rain knows

And our thoughts run free as coffee warms our hands

Listening to the rain coming down

And our love is free as you caress my hands

Listening to the rain falling down.

And when times come along when I’m old & grey

When the cane by my side is living proof of my age

When I need someone to talk to, to comfort my pain

Honey, Please meet me on our porch in the rain.
