Sunny Day

  (listen)

Pregnant woman at the door

Watching others wanting more

Same tricks tried inside this tomb

Child writhes inside the womb

Child cryin’ in a church pew

Frustrates many comforts few

Mothers blush for the mother

Fathers rush they can’t be bothered

But there’s a…

Sunny Day

Life can seem so far away

Recalling life, takin’ life away

Blind man tryin’ to find relief

Child mocks the blind man’s grief

Life grinds life expires

The man finds peace the child tires

Young boy running across the street

An old man talkin’ to his feet

Tryin’ to get them to cooperate

Cursed by life & blessed by fate

Man stands tall because of difference

And he falls translated hindrance

Labels hemmed inside our sleeves

Hatred stems from jealousy.

Middle aged problems never seen

By the young lost in their dreams

Scathe the grain, precede to fade

Confront the pain, dreams find the shade

Sick man lyin’ in his coffin

Needs help dying coughin’

Confusion talkin’ or is this fear

Walkin’ away footsteps he hears

A man with a badge stands up for me

With a false sense of identity

A lifetime spent security

Caught in his grip I writhe free.
