Turning Roadside

(listen)

Turning Roadside, Turning Miles

The signs won’t tell you how to exit from here

Lost in the Desert, with the cactus road signs

The literacy that you’ve learned will not help you here.

You’re lost, can’t get out of here

Now that you’ve realized the worst of your fears

You’re lost, can’t get out of here

No use anymore, can’t hide all those tears

Friends un-friendly, Your love’s unloving

Now that you’ve let this overcome you

Familiar surroundings, Familiar Faces

Are now all too unfamiliar to you.

I don’t know why

You let this happen

Now that the substance has control

And I don’t understand

I just can’t comprehend

How your pain’s now worse yet you still can’t see it taking it’s toll.
