UPCOMING AHMTA CLUB MEETINGS

Club Meetings are held the 3rd Friday of every month and start at 7pm.  Note however that the JB’s restaurant located on the south side of Baseline Road just west of Gilbert Road has closed!  Stay tuned while an alternate meeting spot is identified.  In the meantime, several members have offered to have the meetings at their homes.

Friday Night Car Show – every Friday

Let’s all start meeting at the Friday night car show again now that the weather is becoming nicer!  Location is the Albertson’s parking lot at the southeast corner of Warner and Lindsay Road.  We’re there approximately from 6pm to 8pm.  We hope you can make it out to socialize and check out all the vehicles!

Gilbert Veterans Day Celebration (Friday, Nov 9th):

The event will be held on Friday, November 9th starting at 11:30 A.M.  Music provided by local high school band.  Veterans organizations such as VFW, American Legion and Korean War Veterans parade their colors along with National Guard, Gilbert Fire and Police Departments and high school ROTC.  There will be a distinguished guest speaker and short program by city officials.  The city presents a lapel pin to participants.  Program is followed by a catered lunch provided by various local restaurants.  We will park our vehicles on the circular drive surrounding the event.  We can bring vehicles and park them for static display any time before the 11:30 flyover and start.

IPMS Model Club event at the Commemorative Airforce Museum (Saturday, Nov 10th):

The IPMS is having their annual Veterans Day (11/10/07) IPMS model club contest and kit swap at the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) hanger. They are requesting that we display 4-5 vehicles from 10am-4pm while the contest is being judged.  I have arranged with the CAF that any of our club members displaying vehicles will get free admission to the event.

Apache Junction Veteran’s Day Parade (Sunday, Nov 11th):

Same Parade as last year – we’ll be giving rides to our Veteran friends of the Korean War Veteran’s Association.  This is an awesome group of guys that really appreciate our support.  Parade stages ~ 8am (I’ll get final details out prior to the parade) at Main and Idaho (at the “Y”).  Our staging area is usually on Main street in front of the shopping center.

Gilbert Days Parade:  (Saturday, Nov 17th):

This is our club’s showcase parade each year where we really “show our stuff”.  Let’s all make very possible effort to have a large showing again.  Parade starts at 9am so our line-up will begin an hour or so before that.  I’ll be publishing details once we get assigned a staging area (normally at Gilbert and Guadalupe).  We’ve won 1st place for our class the last few years – see the award in the awards section of our web site!

Queen Creek Holiday Parade (Saturday, Dec 8th):

Another exciting “small town” parade in which we’ve won awards for previously!  I’ll publish parade details once we get our assignments.  Staging will start ~10am and run through downtown Queen Creek.  Parade starts at noon and will take the same route as last year – we’ll start line up approx. an hour before that.  Take a look on our web site to see the award we won a couple years ago!
