What is an urban legend? An urban legend is a story or warning usually circulated as an email, but my be communicated as hearsay, and it spreads mysteriously over mediums such as the internet. While all urban legends are not false, most are. Unfortunately many well meaning people help to circulate these hoaxes on the internet via email, without checking the authenticity ant truthfulness of stories, warnings, or claims sent by email. One good gage that an email might be an urban legend is if what it is communicating seams either too good, or too bad to be true. That is why I created this page, to enable the internet savvy user to become informed, and take appropriate action upon receipt of a suspect email. Links that will take you to web sites you can use to search a email or other communication that you feel may be an urban legend UrbanLegends.com - good all purpose site for looking up urban legends TruthorFiction.com - another good site for finding out what is real and what is not.
