Here are the departing times for leg 12:

Frank and Margarita- 11:14 P.M.
Rob and Brennan- 11:25 P.M. (11 minutes behind first place)
Bill and Joe - 10:51 PM the following day (about 23.5 hours behind first place)

Tasks on this Leg:
The first task requires teams to use a map of Tiantan park to find locals flying specific kites that have route info attatched to them.  The park opens at 6 AM.  Next the teams have to find the Lower leven entrance of Juyong Pass at the Great Wall of China, and they have to get there by Public Bus (not Tourist Bus).

Once there, they are presented with a detour.  They can find the route info at one of 2 pavillions on the Great Wall.  The Flat option requires a long but easy walk to the pavillion.  The Steep option requires a hard, but short climb to to the pavillion.

The clue at either detour was to get to a specific Bed and Breakfast in Scotty Lake, Alaska.  The quickest way to make the 4000 mile trip from Beijing to Alaska required teams to take 3 flights.  They would fly from Beijing to San Francisco, then from San Francisco to Seattle, and then from Seattle to Anchorage.  When the teams arrived in Anchorage they had to find an SUV in the parking lot with a driver that would take them to the small Bed and Breakfast cabin.

Outside of the Bed and Breakfast cabin the route info told them they must participate in a Blanket Toss to find the next clue.  The Blanket Toss opened in the morning, so teams could spend the night in the small cabin.  The Blanket Toss required one member from each team to climb onto a big blanket that the locals would then flap up and down causing them to be flung up into the air.  Once in the air, they had to look for a clue somewhere nearby, hidden in the snow.

The clue in the snow told the teams to head to the parking lot of Matanuska Glacier.  Once there, they were presented with a road block.  One team member had to climb to the top of an ice wall.  Finally, the teams were told to go to Mile Marker 131 where a snowmobile would take the teams to the pit stop for this leg of the race... A wilderness cabin in Alaska.

Frank and Margarita started off at the beginning of this episode arguing over whether they needed to get a taxi.  This was a bad omen of things to come in this episode.  They got the map to the kites in Tiantan park and realized they could not continue until 6:00 the following morning.  So they head off to a hotel near the park, and Rob and Brennan do the same when they leave a few minutes later.

In the morning, Rob and Brennan wake up early.  They want to scope out all of the gates to the park to determine if they all open at the same time.  Frank and Margarita arrive minutes before the park opens.  Margarita thinks to ask the guard if they could enter about 5 minutes early, and he allows them to enter.  They quickly find the man with the kite, which he hasn't even gotten into the air yet.  When he gets it up, they run over, grab the route info, and head for the Bus to Juyong Pass.

Rob and Brennan, in what i found to be a very humourous moment, find a man flying a kite.  However, as we are told, kite flying is popular in China, specifically in this park.  The man the Lawyers found was not invovled in the race.  As Rob questions whether they "are supposed to tackle the guy," the poor man backs away from them and looks confused.  Rob and Brennan then realize they are nowhere near the spots marked on the map, so they realize their mistake and soon find a kite and head for the bus.

Frank and Margarita get off the bus, but wander around the wall confused.  They find where they think they should be going, but they have to climb a fence to get there.  Rob and Brennan are thinking smart in this episode, they ask around and find out exactly where the entrance is, and head directly there.  They are already completing the detour as Frank and Margarita spot the entrance, but realize they have to backtrack to get to it.

Rob and Brennan complete the detour, grab a taxi, and head to the airport before Frank and Margarita arrive at the entrance.  The Lawyers are hoping to make it to the airport and catch a flight that Frank and Margarita will miss.
Frank and Margarita argue again about a taxi.  They argue about whether they're going the right way on the detour.  They just generally argue a lot this episode.  They find the route info and head for the airport.

Rob and Brennan arrive at the airport, but not after a frustratingly slow taxi ride.  When the cabbie asks for his payment, Rob thinks its too high.  After some arguing, Rob pays the man and tells him "To get out of my sight."  They head inside and quickly determine the quickest way to Alaska, only there are no Economy seats available...only Buisness.  Rob talks the lady at the counter into bumping someone up to business class so they can ride economy.  They are feeling good thinking that maybe Frank and Margarita won't get a spot on that flight.

Frank and Margarita arrive.  They argue about paying the taxi driver.  They go inside.  Margarita thinks Los Angeles might be faster.  They argue about that.  They realize San Francisco would really be faster.  The woman at their counter doesn't even have to be asked, and Frank and Margarita get a better deal than Rob and Brennan.  Frank and Margarita get to ride in Buisness class, but pay Economy price.

While FM and The Laywers are on their flights, Team Guido (remember them?) finally leave.  They realize they cannot complete the task until the morning, so they wait.  And thats the last you'll see of Team Guido until the end of the episode.

FM and The Lawyers arrive in Anchorage.  FM were in the front of the plane, while The Lawyers were in the very back.  FM grab their SUV and hurry away from the airport a few minutes ahead of The Lawyers.  They arrive at the Bed and Breakfast first and head inside to grab a bed.  The Lawyers arrive a little while later.

In the morning, FM gets to do the Blanket Toss first because they arrived first.  They find the clue and jump in their car headed for Matanuska Glacier.  The Lawyers find the clue, but take time getting directions.  They end up behind FM on the road, but FM pass up the road The Lawyers know they are supposed to take.  When The Lawyers realize the road is closed, they pull into a store and someone tells them to ignore the sign.  FM do the same a few minutes later.  The Lawyers get a little bit of a head start on the Road Block, but Frank almost catches up.

The Lawyers jump in their car headed for Mile Marker 131.  They arrive and jump in the snowmobile which takes them to the Pit Stop.  Frank and Margarita arrive a few minutes behind them.

At the end of the episode are a few minutes showing what Team Guido has been doing all this time.  They did all the same stuff, only a day later.  They end up on exactly the same flights as the first two teams, but a day later.  They arrive at the Bed and Breakfast and..... Thats the end of the episode??

The show ends with Team Guido not even at the Pit Stop.  I guess thats to bring suspense to the final episode.
It should be interesting... and who knows, Team Guido has been lucky...they might be able to pull something off.
