You can take a Texan out of Texas, but you can never take
Texas out of a Texan!!! eeEEHaw
I was born June 23, 1935 in Mineral Wells,
in Palo Pinto County, Texas, but moved to Midland, Texas in 1945.
I joined the U. S. Navy in June of 1952 and served until I retired
on July 1, 1975. I reside in Mulvane, Kansas, a small community
15 miles South of Wichita which is right smack in the middle of
tornado alley. My wife and I are both Amateur Radio Operator's,
her call sign is KB0PVV and mine is AA0UM.
Here is a short story that
I have written about my first fly fishing expedition back in the
early 40's. It's definitely non fiction and is written as I remember.
The second
short story in the series is about Quail Hunting and the third about
duck hunting. They have now been published in several news papers
and foreign club magazines. I hope they bring back fond memories
to many of you. Since my second retirement in February, 2001 I
have slowly been completing the other 22 short stories. Heck who
knows, maybe some day I'll publish them in book format. If you
take the time to read the stories and enjoy them I'd appreciate
an e-mail. Shucks there is even a picture of my cousin and I when
we were 7 years old with a catfish bigger than we were. My hobbies
are , Amateur Radio, fishing, Photography ,
camping and now I've added Geocaching..
