ABUSED FOR BEING
A MUSLIM
(A True Experience)
You saw me there across the street
My scarf was plain to see
And that is when you turned agressive
Just because of me.
You shouted words that stung my ears
Intending to cause pain
You hurled abuse and threatened me
Because my faith was plain.
But though your words were so severe
I managed to stay calm
For I just looked beyond your hatred
At my own eemaan.
And sure enough what I did feel
Apart from pain inside
Was that Allaah was with me there
He was on MY side.
And with that precious thought in mind
I cared not what you said
But I rejoiced at my Islaam
And what was on my head.
And when I think back to that time
With smiles I'll share, not pain
For faith and patience yields rewards
That's what I hope to gain!
