Marie Taggart is best known for her oil painting. Although, Marie has also created tiki masks, coiled baskets, wrapped Indian inspired talking sticks, and molded her largest project, a twenty foot dinosaur, from paper maché. Marie has spent most of her life by the sea in California. Her love of the outdoors makes it a "natural" to specialize in landscapes, sea scenes, gardens, and floras. While Taggart's art makes use of her personal experiences, her work has a universal appeal.

Style
Taggart is a contemporary plein-air painter. She uses a true impressionist manner of using light through color. Marie achieves this representation of light through seemingly casual and spontaneous execution.
She paints what she loves and it shows. Her strokes are quick while capturing the light, color and feeling of the day. Marie is able to capture a fleeting moment with vitality and energy. Marie's diversity extends to many areas.
