All my "profiles" from November 6 to April 7th

I'm freakin' sick and tired of world religions 5C (a.k.a. athiesm 5C)... my TA's a moron, actually he said him self that he's an idiot and doesn't deserve to get paid what he does to TA, and that he's more qualified to be a janitor, he said it to be funny, but i agree anyhow... OOOOOO BURN... not really a burn... anyway... this foo says some crazy things about Islam and his comedic style makes him more believable than everybody else. And his comedic style also trivializes Islam... he says a lot of crap,,, any more and i'll have to whoop out a can-o-jihad... define jihad anyway you want... hahaha... IM me for more details...

"We like nonfiction and we live in fictitious times. We live in the time where we have fictitious election results that elects a fictitious president. We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons. Whether it's the fictition of duct tape or fictition of orange alerts we are against this war, Mr. Bush. Shame on you, Mr. Bush, shame on you. Any time you got the Pope and the Dixie Chicks against you, your time is up" Michael Moore at the oscars

uh oh... kareem challenged me in tekken... it's on now, he's never played it but considering that he's good at all games (and everything else really, haha)... it should be a good match, (ie i'll kick his butt and break his hardcore gamer rep)

If there is anybody out there willing to challenge me to Tekken 3 for playstation, i hereby challenge  you to a duel!!! **Slaps you with rubber glove twice bugs bunny style**

bring it on!!!

Bush: hey Sadaam, leave Iraq now!!!

Sadaam: over my dead body

Bush: well duhhh

-- Amir, "small joke" (in an indian accent)

Me paraphrasing Hamza Yusuf paraphrasing (or was it translating) imam shafi'i:

The eye of contentment sees no faults, but the eye of contempt sees nothing but faults

O shoot, listen to that file, cacpart1, get to time 48 minutes, sweet, what a concept

Ok, there's another Hamza Yusuf pt, just sit down for an hour, quietly, and possibly take notes, listen to his Cacpart1 speech, see next link below

Another Hamza Yusuf paraphrasing (I think this is paraphrasing another Alim or something) :

Allah will maintain a more just polythiestic people/state than a non just muslim state

Hamza Yusuf again, this brother just "brings it" -- Amir Abdel Malik Ali

Do not let the loathing that you have for a people let you prevent you from being just to a people, because that is closer to piety

That's Hamza Yusuf quoting the Quran

Hamza yusuf in one of his lectures, see the next link down, but change it to cacpart1, says that as soon as a powerful country misuses its power, it brings upon itself it's own downfall.

Good stuff, but i already knew that, and i'm sure you did too, however, i never made this connection:

Think about Surah Asr, and think about that (above), and think about the several layers of Islam. Usually when i thought about the meaning, (see the meaning, do yourself a favor), i thought about it for me, personally. I'd think, ok encourage good things, discourage bad things, have sabr, etc. But this Surah cuts straight through the personal layer to the international level (skipping family, community, country layers, etc).

Fine, i'll look it up for you

Surah Asr:

1. By (the Token of) Time (through the ages),

2. Verily Man is in loss,

3. Except such as have Faith, and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of Patience and Constancy

So at the international level, according to Hamza Yusuf, history has proven this property. I think it will continue to do so.

Actually, the thing is not that i finally thought about it at the international level, but more so that the fact that Hamza Yusuf confirmed that history has proven this property for the international level.

Sorry if this section didn't make sense, but i'm writing this at the same time that i listen to this speech

Again, as always, if you see an error, disagree, or whatever, talk to me, let me know about it.

Abdullah bin Hudhafa was taken prisoner during a battle during Hazrat Omar Caliphah. So the leader, who happened to be a Christian showed Abdullah another Muslim dropped in boiling water, and told Abdullah that if you don't become a Christian, i'll do the same to you (which kill you). and Abdullah started crying! Then the Christian leader asked Abdullah, why are you crying, are you afraid now? Abdullah said, no, i'm crying because I only have one life to give in the way of Allah.

sweet huh? furthermore:

There's more, but the wording is very sensitive, and i'm afraid that might deliver the wrong message. Actually this other part is, i think, a LOT deeper than that. If you would like to learn more (haha, sounds like a commercial huh?) listen to Hamza Yusuf's lecture: http://www.alhambraproductions.com/shop/stream/mp3/cacpart2.mp3 It's around 5 minutes. Good stuff.

They're playing us like a game of chess.

There are two types of people who can get away with speaking the truth: comedians and poets -- Hamza Yusuf (paraphrased)

http://www.alhambraproductions.com/shop/htm/stream.htm listen to Understanding Jihad 1, real hardcore, very understandable for those who are new to Islam as well.

The long awaited profile update, it's been a lil over 5 weeks, and i'm starting to think it really wasn't worth the wait:

Imagine if we were taking a class where the teacher said that we were having a final exam, worth 100% of our grade. The final is open book, open note, we are free to check answers from each other, we are all given the scantron of a person who has been pre-graded and has been given an A+. We will all be put in pairs of two, but will be introduced to our partners not right at the beginning but typically somewhere in the first 1/4 or 1/3 of the 2 hours that we have to take the test.

There were other versions of the book and some students may even bring them in, but they are not good enough, and there is a good chance that they will received a failing grade if one of these books are used. It's easy to tell the most valid one apart from the older ones, the new one is just plain old beautiful, and is put together very well, where the old ones seem like they've been mangled and distorted. Don't screw this up, just get the right book.

There are some rules tho:

  1. wrong answers get minus points
  2. correct answers get positive points, obviously
  3. Once we bubble in answers, we can't erase them, BUT if we point it out to the teacher sometime within the 2 hours that we are there, sincerely say that we won't do it again, since he's such a cool teacher, there is a VERY good chance that he won't count the negative points against us, he might even turn the negative points into positive ones. If we make a mistake, sincerely say that we won't make such a mistake again, and actually don't, then we are guaranteed to have those mistakes at least not be negative.
  4. you only need one positive point to pass the class with a D
  5. if you fail, you cannot retake the test, instead you will be forced to drop out of school
  6. The professor decides when you are done and ready to leave within the first 2 hours, so don't waste time

It has been made impossible to violate these rules.

(switch the first/second person, the teacher is now speaking to you, the student... i would rewrite it  to correct this, but i'm too lazy):

About the book:
The book tells you exactly what you need to pass the the test, it also includes examples of many ppl who are already graded and have gotten A's and many who have been graded and have gotten F's.

About the notes:
Since there were no classes, except the first one where you promised to answer all of the questions correctly (which i don't expect you to remember), you have no notes. HOWEVER there are many notes describing those who have gotten both good and bad grades before you (and i already graded their tests).

About other people in the class that will be taking tests with you:
There are going to be a lot of people there taking the test with you, and a lot of different kinds of people. You'll have those who know exactly what's up, read the book, read their notes, and copy off of the provided pre-graded scantrons just to be safe, and will get A+'s when i grade their scantrons. There will also be those people who don't care to read the book or the notes, just copy from the graded "A+" scantron, they'll get A+'s too. There will be those that don't even bother to fill out the scantron, they get lazy, bored, plagued with anxiety or whatever reason, they just say that the teacher's nice and we'll all get A+'s. They will be foolish enough to think that nobody under any circumstances will fail the class and get kicked out of school, it's in the books and in the notes that these people exist and it's not like that. There will be those who will go ahead and fill out the scantron, know that the pre-graded scantrons differ, but will proceed in filling it out anyway, they don't consult the teacher, in fact some of them will even know that they'll fail for this but think that the teacher doesn't have the guts to kick them out of school. These people will think that they are right, but they are wrong. Well... they'll fail and get kicked out of school regardless of what they think. And then there will be those who don't even know who the teacher is, don't think that there will be a time when the teacher will grade them, and will just bubble in stupid crap or not bubble in anything. Some will just sit there and bubble in CAB, CAD, DAD, BAC, DAB, make other designs like hills, steps or whatever; they'll fail fo sho.

TA's:
There are going to be TA's moving around, carrying out tasks like seating you guys in appropriate seats, passing out tests, pointing out test partners, etc. Don't worry about them... the teacher could be doing these tasks, but he chooses not to.

This one other guy:
There is this one other guy, he met with the teacher, started taking the test a long time ago, sitting in the lecture hall and still taking the test, got in an argument with the teacher and has vowed to make as many people fail as possible, he'll try to get people to fail in all kinds of ways. He'll tell people that the book isn't valid, or that it's not the right version, that the given A+ scantrons aren't valid, that the notes aren't valid, he'll distract you from taking the test, he'll do everything that he can to get you to fail, he is going to fail and get kicked out of class, and those who listen to him will as well. Stay the HELL away from him (pardon the pun).

There are three things that can go wrong and lead you to fail: listening to "the other guy", following the ways of other failures, and your own desires to not take the test, whether it's you getting lazy and not wanting to fill out the scantron or whatever. Oh yeah... "the other guy" will get kicked out of the lecture hall for 1/12th of the time spread out over the testing period, use that time wisely since 1/3 of the things that can cause you to fail will be gone, the other 2/3 being your laziness, etc, and other students taking the test who try to get you to fail in one way or the other.

in general, those who know who the teacher is, and who know that they will be graded, are in fairly good shape.

Of course, those who have the book, the notes, the pre-graded scantrons, and will use them, are in SIGNIFICANTLY better shape than those who just know who the teacher is and know that they will be graded. In fact so much so that those people mentioned above (the ones who only know who the teacher is and only know that they will be graded), are losers for not taking the next steps and getting the books, notes, and pre-graded scantrons. They are losers both at the time of taking the test, because they'll be so frustrated, and because they won't get the grade that they easily could have, and the grade that they do get may as well be an F.

Your tests and scantrons will be provided by the teacher, and to him they will all return. (smooth, i know, i know)

In case you didn't figure it out by now:

This is an analogy!!!! I'm gonna try to parallel it so taht you could scroll up and down, and see which parts correspond to which.

Sure this life is a test, and the only chance we get at it, but we are given the book (the Quran) which contains stories of people who definitely got into Jannah (Heaven), and ones who definately will go to hell. We are also given hadith of sahabas, and most importantly prophet Muhammad pbuh, who DEFINITELY is going to heaven (got the A+).

Rules:

  1. We get sins for committing bad deeds
  2. we get good deeds for doing good things.
  3. We can't go back in time and undo bad deeds, but if we sincerely repent and intend to not do it again, there is a good chance that we will be forgiven, and if you do that sin again, and repent sincerely and intend not to do it again, there is still a good chance that you will be forgiven, and the same way over and over again. If you sincerely repent and intend not to do it again, and you actually don't ever do it again, you will definitely be forgiven, ie guaranteed forgiveness, (there's an Ayah i think or hadith).
  4. If you have more sins than good deeds, you go to hell... simple as that. It's easy to not have any sins, with Allah being so merciful, so take advantage of that fact.
  5. This life is the only chance you get, there's no reincarnation or anything. One chance, but then again, Allah is so merciful, this one chance should easily be enough
  6. Allah gets to decide when your life is up, not you, and when that time comes, there's no stopping it. So stop procrastinating, when asked when will you start praying? answer now, not tommorrow. When asked when will you go to hajj, answer now, not when i'm old.

We can't violate these rules... simple as that, these are the guidelines.

About the Book (the Quran):
It tells us exactly what we need to do, and not do in order to get into Jannah. It has several examples of prophets, and their oppositions. For example, prophet Musa vs. Ferone (Moses vs. the Pharaoh). They have already been "pre graded," Musa pbuh will go to Jannah, and Ferone goes to hell

About the notes (Hadiths/Sunnah...)
There are plenty of Hadith to keep us on the straight path, many of which back up the Quran, and many general ones. According to even my biased, athiest, world religions teacher, Prophet Muhammad pbuh is the most documented person in the world. Bukhari alone collected 300,000 hadiths, 7,000 of which or so he put in his collection. There are so many volumes of collections of just hadith (for example Bukhari, Muslim, Thirmidi, Abu-Dawood, Riyad As-Saalihin, just to name a few). You could fill up shelves of hadiths, and collections of so. All of which pointing us in the right directions, with excruciating detail as to how to perform tasks. Some misguided indivduals (an extremely small minority) may say that you should only pay attention to the Quran, but what about Salah. The Quran tells us to perform Salah, but doesn't tell us HOW TO, for that we have to go to Hadith.

About the other people taking the test (Other coexisting human beings in this world):
There are Muslims, who truely believe in Islam. They've got it down, they try their best according to the Quran and Hadith, and ask for forgiveness for any shortcomings. They may make these mistakes over and over again, but don't give up on the mercy of Allah, and just keep asking for forgiveness, and likely get forgiven each time. These people sooner or later shake their habit, and are happy. They attain peace both here and will when the get "graded," on the day of judgment. There will also be those who just read the Quran just enough to stay alive (ie read surah fathiha in namaz, a small surah after that, etc, may know ayatul kursi, y'know how it is). But these ppl read and listen to a lot of talk about the hadith and sunnah. these people, from what i understand are coo too, correct me if i'm wrong. I'm talking about mainly pakis living in Pakistan. Allah knows best. Then there are people who we encounter that usually talk like this, "Oh i don't believe taht there is a hell, God is Love, and we'll all go to heaven." Crap like that... they don't bother to stay away from any sins, may be cool but just because of "ethics" not because their intention is to please Allah. ahem... many christians. And even if they did try to follow the bible, they'd get confused, "which one?", or even if they chose one, they would find conflicting evidence, and come back to their theory of there being no hell, or only hell for the Hitlers of the world. Then there are the Jews, who know what's up, but lie and cheat to prove that they are right out of arrogance. For example at the time of the prophet, there was a guy that was told by a Jewish rabbi or somehting, what the signs of the prophet are. So he went to the prophet pbuh, and checked if these signs are there, and sure enough, they were there. This guy i think accepted Islam, then went to this rabbi, and told him about it. But the Rabbi didn't accept Islam out of arrogance. that's an example from then. So these ppl can go on doing all the wrong things, forcing upon themselves that they are right, but they're wrong and will be punished for it.

TA's (Angels):
They carry out tasks all the time, like kiram and katibeen. They write down, in detail, our good and bad deeds... stuff like that. Allah could be doing all of these things, but he wishes not to i guess.

This one other guy (Satan (and his crew i guess)):
When Allah created Adam pbuh, Satan showed arrogance, and was a retard, and promised that he'll try to lead us astray. He's still trying. Y'know how it goes.

Furthermore, as for the whole thing about him being gone 1/12th of the time, i was talking about Ramadan. There are three things we have to struggle against, Satan's whispers, our desires, and our peers that tell us to do wrong. In Ramadan, since Satan is gone, we've only got to deal w/ 2/3 of the problem.

In general those who Believe in Allah, and in the day of judgement, are in fairly good shape (begin to even have a chance i guess).

As it says in one of the Ayahs (the one where ppl are always debating about), that as long as they believe in those two things, they have nothing to worry about. But that's kinda leading to converting to Islam anyway because if you believe in the day of Judgement, you'll wanna know what you'll be judged on. Then there's the Ayah that says that those who don't choose Islam as their religion, are "losers." Some people think that they are conflicting Ayahs, but i don't think so. I think its like this: the ones who believe in Allah (alone) and the day of judgement, and that's all they belive in. They'll probably try to do the right thing and so on, but since they don't even know where to start, and are doing a guess job, the chances of them "passing" are slim. And even if they do pass, they will probably not be nearly as well rewarded as the Muslims. So ie, they pass w/ a D, instead of an A or a B.

To Allah belongs all things to him we will all return... Thats the translation of an Ayah, Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi ra ji oon (The ayah (or part of the Ayah) taht we recite when we hear that somebody passed away).

Well... this profile didn't turn out to be as good as i thought, but o well... here's the point i was trying to make:

As human beings in general, we have it so easy, we just have to fill out the scantron (so to speak), keep our intentions clear, no BS about convincing ourselves (and others) that one thing is right, when deep down inside we know it isn't. As Muslims, we've got it so easy it's not even funny, we'd be fools to mess it up, we've got the Quran, sunnah, and guidance from excellent scholars. As Christians, well, it's still really easy, all i could say is wake up... life is short, and money, social status, and the satisfaction of lustful desires aren't everything, in fact they aren't much at all. The thing that really matters is that we worship Allah, and worship him the way he wants us to (including everything from praying to greeting one another with a smile), if we do so there are benefits both here and in the hereafter. We all want to be the people that get to live it up in Jannah. As for jews, stop lying to yourselves, look deep down inside of you, and realize what you ppl do and support is wrong. No matter how big you are, Allah is bigger, no matter how great you are, Allah is greater, and he'll burn yo (gr)ass if you don't straighten up. As for Athiests, look around you, do you actually think everything created itself? if so, then imagine this, I bought a 10,000 piece puzzle, threw it at the wall a few thousand, ok a million times and it made it self. That's what ppl like darwin propose. don't take everything your teachers tell you. Just because you don't believe it, won't make it go away. My 5-year old nephew does the same thing. When we play hide and seek, he hides somewhere, and closes his eyes, and when i find him, i'm looking right at him, and say "Abdul-Razzak i found you," he stays there with his eyes closed, thinking that I'm not there, but i'm there, and i'm getting ready to tickle him... hehe. Think about it, just because you don't believe taht the day of judgement won't come, it doesn't mean that it really won't, it will and you will be asked. Please be smarter than my 5-year old nephew.

It's not that hard to believe in what's true, the signs are there, the sun, the moon, take a bio class and learn how complex the body is, can anybody actually say that all these things made themselves?

If so, then tell me if you believe this: I created a random generator that spits out random 1's and 0's, I let it spit out over 100,000,000 ( hundred million), and out came windows XP. Can you believe that? then how can somebody believe that a body that self repairs, reproduces, digests a variety of energy sources "with remarkable efficiency" (--my nutritional text book), has emotions (love, hate, etc.), and so much more, that it was just created on it's own? Maybe Allah created animals similarly so that we could learn by dissecting them instead of other humans? Imagine if in jr. high when ppl disect frogs, that we'd be disecting humans because frogs are radically different. I think in the Quran it says somewhere that all of the creations are meant to benefit humans in some way.

Disclaimers:

you all know my set of regular disclaimers, i'm no scholar, or anywhere near it, so don't treat this as if i were. but to add to that, what you read was an analogy, and as you know there is no analogy taht is good enough. As a hadith says, if all the oceans were ink, and all the trees pens, you would still not be able to write down all of the knowledge of Allah. So, this analogy isn't good enough either, it just begins to make us think as to how easy we've got it.

Zain, this one's for you bro ;-) ...

How our (Muslim-Americans') status has become like that of Prophet Musa (pbuh (peace be upon him))

First of all let me describe prophet Musa's status in his environment (this is going based off of just what i remember from before):

Ferone (Pharoh in Arabic) was told by a wizard, or sorcerer that there was going to come a boy that was going to kill or destroy Ferone, so Ferone ordered that all of the boys of a certain (i think todlers) age and below (newborns) be killed. so his goons went out and killed them all, however Musa pbuh's mom heard about this and was worried, panicked, and put Musa pbuh in a basket and put him in a river so that he'd float and drift off. Of course Allah knew about it, it was part of his plan, as usual, hehe. so prophet Musa pbuh drifted out. Ferone's wife, Asiyah [known as one of the four perfect or complete women from hadith including Merriam (virgin (yes Muslims unlike the jews believe that she was a virgin (what's with all these nested parentheses (it's like freakin' LISP) ) ) mother of Jesus), Fatimah (daughter of Muhammad pbuh)], could not have children, so she found prophet Musa pbuh drifting, and adopted him. Ferone didn't like it at first, but Asiyah said pretty much, come oooon can we keep him, and he said ok.

so anyway, prophet Musa got older, and eventually became a prophet, saw how unjust and what a weasel Ferone was, took him out w/ all the miracles, guidance from Allah through the Torah, directly, etc, and bada bing bada boom, (more like: kun fa ya koon), (that almost rhymes), justice was restored. (yeah that was lacking a HUUUGE amount of detail, but that's a good overview).

so... HOW DOES THAT RELATE TO MUSLIMS IN AMERICA?!?!?!?!?!?!

Bush is told by some Intelligence that Muslims are getting strong, and have potential to get really strong. Starts picking at something he finds weak, in our (as in world wide Ummah) case he picks at unity and breaks the Ummah into peices and has them bicker over stupid little things, but that's international stuff. Inside his Kingdom, he sends his goons out on a Muslim hunt. Goes and takes out any Muslim that he can and tries to scare the rest. However his wife... now let me explain his wife... side step a moment:

As Amir Abdul Malik put it: There was once a rich man and his wife, the rich man was an oppressor. He'd go out and kill people for his money, enslave ppl, etc. One time a group of these ppl were protesting and his wife didn't quite understand much because of their language except that their tone was negative. So she asked her husband... why are these people saying these things, and he said "they're just jealous dear, just jealous." and she accepted it and went on because as long as she had all her amenties she was fine. Then a while later a brick came crashing through the large arced living room window and it was a similar group of people. She asked her husband why they did this and got the same reply, "they're just jealous dear, they're just jealous." and she went along w/ her merry life cause she had all the amenities.

So time went on and the wife is starting to realize that his husband is a classic oppressor. which is where we are at now

So his Wife would be the non-Muslims that are kind to us. The ones that have a conscience, and are kind to us. some may say things like "I believe in God, and I think as long as you believe in God you'll be ok." or "I try to keep an open mind." Sound familiar? well I think that's like Asiyah pbu her between the time when she picked prophet Musa out of the river and the time just before prophet Musa became a prophet. She was a very noble Woman, considered one of the four perfect or complete women ever according the hadith. The way i see it that's the way so many ppl we are around are, very nice ppl, try too keep up their morals (besides the gambling, beer, and porn thing), but as far as not hurting others, they go out of their way to make sure that part's secure. They will actually in many cases go out of their way to help. So anyway, when Bush tries to take out Muslims, "the wife" ie non-Muslim-open-minded-Americans stand up for them and say, "come ooooon can we keep them," and sometimes go by many name such as the ACLU. Now a days many of them have even been protesting against their wicked husband, nagging, and throwing tantrums and Muslim-Americans really appreciate it. So then the Gov't is saying ok fine, Muslim-American's could stay, you could keep them. The way Ferone said for prophet Musa pbuh. Who knows what's gonna happen next. If it goes the way it did for prophet Musa pbuh, it'll be like this: Muslim's get strong, united, get guidance and follow it as closely to the letter as possible (ie from the Quran, because it serves as direct communication from Allah, a miracle, and a holy book all at once). Use their God given skills to overthrow thier corrupt gov't and restore peace. When i say "use their God given skills," I mean this: at the Time of prophet Musa, magic was big, so he was given miracles that were like magic, for example how his stick turned to a snake, or the parting of the red sea. and how at the time of Esa (Jesus in Arabic) pbuh Bio and the Medical field was big, he was given miracles such as being able to cure the blind, leperacy, making clay birds real -- all Bio related. How at the time of prophet Muhammad pbuh literature was big so his biggest miracle was the Quran. So anyway, Muslims-Americans of today might be able to use skills that are given to them... for example there is a heck of a lot of Muslims in the CS/Engineering, Technology, Bio area (pretty much all science), and I'd say those are pretty much the  hot topics of today. Muslims might use that the way prophet Musa was given his miracles to restore justice. From what I understand, prophet Musa pbuh also had an army, or some followers, first of all I'm pretty sure his step mother (Ferone's wife, Asiyah) converted and followed prophet Musa's pbuh teachings (or else why would she be considered one of the 4 perfect women). Secondly, he had to go outside of his palace (ie into the kingdom) to find others. They followed. Applying "kingdom" today means the rest of the world, so asking help from the rest of the world. Musa pbuh had to lead it, so if it goes for Muslim-Americans the way it did for prophet Musa pbuh, Muslim-American's would have to lead it (and our unsure currently non-Muslim friends will have converted the way Asiyah pbu her did).

To summarize

yeah i know i could get "interrogated" or "questioned" for this... ie arrested... meh... not like anybody visits this site anyway except me, Zain and a couple others:

Ferone = Bush, Bush ka Bacha, jews, republicans, some democrats, oil lovers, tony blaire, y'know the whole corrupt, greedy, power hungry, Opressor-ish, Ferone-ish group/Ideology.

Wizards that predicted the coming of somebody like prophet Musa pbuh = I'd say CIA or Jews cause they see Muslim's potential, and how pure Islam is but are too arrogant or _____ (fill in the blank, a lotta stuff could go there like greedy or whatever), to accept it. Maybe Ferone's conscience, who knows.

Ferone's goons = FBI, CIA, now thanks the the USA Patriot act Banks, Airports, neighbors, friends, anybody non-Muslim and non-Black, Mexicans a maybe. Y'know what i mean

Asiyah pbu her = the friendly non-Muslims who just believe in God and that's it. The ones that see all the crap happening to us and our brothers and sisters, feel both sympathetic towards us and deep down feel a need for us perhaps by guidance or whatever... Asiyah did become a Muslim right away later on from what i understand.

prophet Musa (Moses) pbuh = Muslim-Americans, living in Ferone's palace, so to speak.

The group that backed up prophet Musa, and the group that was once oppressed by Ferone = the rest of the Muslim world such as Iraq, Palestine, etc.

I think it's in surah al Imran that says, the Kafirs plan, and Allah plans, but the best of planners is Allah.

(not saying that This is necessarily Allah's plan... it could be TOTALLY Different)... but it just seems to me that there are SOOOOOOO many similarities between prophet Musa's story and current situations for Muslims who are American citizens, that it seems to be headed in this direction. But then again there are other dimensions too, non-American Muslims may be a lot more qualified or equally qualified, so it would be a cooperative leadership, or maybe total leader ship by them and us as followers. OR Muslim-Americans may get caught in the cross fire and get screwed in this world (and inshAllah get rewarded later)... only Allah knows.

But still... we could learn so much from prophet Musa's (pbuh) story... There are SOOO many details that go into it, and many of which that link up w/ us. actually i cant think of any details that don't.

Oh yeah one more thing... obviously Prophet Musa's story was dealing w/ the best of the best vs. the worst of the worst ie: We can't be as good as prophet Musa pbuh, nor are the friendly non-Muslims as good as Asiyah pbu her, nor is Bush (not neccessarily him, there are many theories saying that he's an idiot, and the actual puppetiers are behind him are the actual oppressors) as bad as Ferone (after all Ferone did claim to be God and demanded to be worshipped, not to say that Bush (and/or his puppetiers) is a/are good guy(s) either; nor are the goons of today so bad that they'd be willing to slaughter infants in America (in Iraq, that's a different story)... nm, ok so maybe they are, but i mean we can't be so strong, but we don't have to be either... Bush is a little kitty cat compared to Ferone.

i've gotta get these profiles going... be more up to date y'know... or else...

Qari Reviews (and more):

first of all... I discovered a new personal favorite recitor!!!!

Sheikh Kāmil Yusuf Al Bahtimi <-- this brother's the man!!!!!!!!!!!

listen to some of his recitation here: http://www.islamophile.org/coran/recitation/bahtimi/index_e.html

so my four all time favs (in no particular order):

Sorry Umar, Eefasi didn't make the list... maybe if he did something original... ooooo burrrrn.... jk he's aiite

Anyway... weird observation of recitors: for some reason they typically don't have beards... I mean Sudais and Shuraim do, but the other two don't, and it's not just the other two either. It's not that they can't grow them, Br. Aslam told me that there was one big time recitor here, he grew his beard for Ramadan while he was here, but then shaved it off later when he went back.

The way i've worded all this i'm afraid it seems like there are only 2 styles of recitation -- there aren't, in fact:

When a Qari goes to "Qari School," usually after becoming a hafiz, He learns 7 different styles. It takes him 2-3 years just to get these down. then they can do like "Post Graduate Study" for an additional couple years and pick up 3 more (for a total of 10 different styles). These last 3, especially the last 2 (ie the 9th and 10th), are HARD according to Brother Aslam Patel (Imam at Yorba Linda) speaking from personal experience. However I think each Qari could have his own twist or signiature to his recitation.

So how many styles are there???

I dunno, but i do know that on the Day of Judgement, Prophet Dawood (David in English) (pbuh) will recite Surah Rahman for those who made it to Jannah (Heaven) as part of their reward. why Surah Rahman? because it is considered the "dulhan" or "bride" of the Quran, the most beautiful Surah. Prophet Dawood (pbuh) will know 70 different styles!!! (makes the 10 different styles seem like nothing... hehe). All that is according to Brother Aslam Patel as well... we talk about this stuff a lot.

also check out www.kitabullah.com for non-studio, live recordings of many Qaris (recitors) including Abdul Basset even though it's not too clear.

awww... sawweet:

As one of the salaf said: Do not look at the smallness of the sin, rather look at the greatness of the One Whom you have disobeyed.

"Allah changes not the condition of a folk unless they (first) change that which is in their minds (nafs)." (13:11)

-- that translation is according to a paper weight/pen holder thing on my dad's desk (next to me)

here's the one by Yusuf Ali (either him or somebody else, but it's from www.islamicity.com ):

"Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people until they change it themselves (with their own souls)." (also 13: 11, but different translator).

... reminds me of Jihad un Naffs (which means struggle within I think)...  which reminds me of the song Jihad un Nuffs by An-Nasr Productions, listen to it.

Sweet.... (from the MSU mailing list):

"

A man was in New York's central park, when a dog went wild and attacked a young boy. The man was able to grab the dog by the neck, pulling it off the boy and choking it to death.

A reporter for the N.Y. times comes to interview him, congratulating him on his act of heroism. He suggests the headline: New Yorker saves the life of a young boy ! But, the man told him, I'm not from N.Y. Ok, then how  about:

American hero saves the day.

But, the man told him, I'm not American.
Then, where are you from? asked the reporter. I'm from Pakistan, the man answered.

The next day the headlines read :

MUSLIM FUNDAMENTALIST STRANGLES DOG IN CENTRAL PARK. FBI INVESTIGATING
POSSIBLE LINKS TO AL QAEDA.

wasalamu alaikom wa rahmatulahi wa baraktuh,

Abdulrahman

"

hehe... obviously it was a joke, but it's good stuff.

My explanation of Taqdir (fate in English)... it's long, so it's on a separate page.

Avoiding Hell... for Dummies:

(They = "Companions of the right hand"... see Surah Muddathir)

Starting at 42 Allah is describing the convo btwn a person in Heaven and a person in Hell.

40. (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other,

41. And (ask) of the Sinners:

42. "What led you into Hell Fire?"

43. They will say: "We were not of those who prayed;

44. "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent;

45. "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers;

46. "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment,

47. "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain."

last night (27th night of Ramadan), Imam Iqbal (at the Tustin Masjid), pointed out these verses, he said them in Arabic first, and I was like duuuude, I know where that's from cause I had been pre-memorizing it*. well anyway, I thought it was cool, it sounds BEAUTIFUL in Arabic, it being this Surah and these Ayahs in particular, this is a run on sentence. Anyway, these Ayah's lay out some things pretty plainly, in order to stay out of Hell do (or don't do) these things:

Simple enough huh?

I know it's not limited to these 4 things, actually I'm thinking about erasing this stuff cause it might be misleading in that these aren't the only things. But yeah, listen to this Surah being recited, it's only 4 to 5 minutes long. The part quoted starts at 3 minutes and 30 seconds (3:30).

Here's the Surah recited by none other than Abdul-Rahman Sudais - oh yeah!:

http://www.islamway.com/arabic/images/quran/sudais/074.mp3

* What I mean by "pre-memorizing" is that, I know a lot of ppl do this, before memorizing the Surah, they'll listen and recite it several times before start memorizing Ayah by Ayah.

Oh Yeah!!! (Humza Javed)

Saweeeeet! (me)

Check it. [Atif (Kashif's Bro)]

22:73 O men! Here is a parable set forth! listen to it! Those on whom, besides Allah, ye call, cannot create (even) a fly, if they all met together for the purpose! and if the fly should snatch away anything from them, they would have no power to release it from the fly. Feeble are those who petition and those whom they petition!

Think about it, the digestive system, flying, and the reproductive system, just to name a few. The fly lays the egg, and a maggot is born (I think it's a maggot, it's some little white thing that crawls around). Later it goes through a metamorphosis and becomes a fly. From there eats all kinds of things, converts it to energy, and poops out whatever it doesn't need. From what I could remember from bio class, it also has an exoskeleton that it sheds seasonally and grows a new one made out of beta-glucose or maybe it's cellulose. Later in it's life, it lays another egg, and the cycle continues. On top of all that, like all animals, it is self-repairing! Actually I think it can also regenerate organs, so for example if it looses a leg, it'll grow it back! Amazing, isn't it? This is the very thing that is always flying around, bugging us, we kill it or shoo it away. It seems so simple, yet so complex that all the biologists, mechanical-, electrical-, or computer-engineers of the world put together cannot create something like it.

Also keep in mind, this was said 1400 years ago, if the Quran was man-made, the person who made it would think twice before making such a hypothesis because to us it seems so simple. It would take an EXTREMELY large amount of biological knowledge for that time to understand why this is true, and a man who doesn't know how to read or write (Muhammad (pbuh)) certainly didn't have such knowledge.

(55:16) "Fa bi 'ayy 'aalaa' rabbkumaa tukazzibaan"

"Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?" (translation)

-also-

from Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) last sermon, at the end he says:

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O ALLAH, that I have conveyed your message to your people

This still amazes me:

http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/osamatape.html

This is comparing Osama bin Laden's picture to a freeze frame of the tape in which he supposedly confessed about the attacks. The Osama in the movie was obviously an actor.

Did you know that (from my World Religions class, and according to Jews, unless stated otherwise):

Why did i write all that... two reasons: cause everybody's always clueless about what the Jews believe, and because writing this thing helped me study for the lecture part of the Judaism Exam ;)

SAAAWEEET HADITH!!! Got it from Islam.org, Bukhari, Volume 2 Book 23. Keep symbolism in mind while reading this one, AND don't confuse this from the Mairage, this isn't the Mairage cause the Mairage wasn't a dream...

don't be intimidated by the length... it's a really "good reading"

002.023.468 - Funerals (Al-Janaa'iz) -

Narrated Samura bin Jundab

Whenever the Prophet finished the (morning) prayer, he would face us and ask, "Who amongst you had a dream last night?" So if anyone had seen a dream he would narrate it. The Prophet would say: "Ma sha'a-llah" (An Arabic maxim meaning literally, 'What Allah wished,' and it indicates a good omen.) One day, he asked us whether anyone of us had seen a dream. We replied in the negative. The Prophet said, "But I had seen (a dream) last night that two men came to me, caught hold of my hands, and took me to the Sacred Land (Jerusalem). There, Isaw a person sitting and another standing with an iron hook in his hand pushing it inside the mouth of the former till it reached the jaw-bone, and then tore off one side of his cheek, and then did the same with the other side; in the mean-time the first side of his cheekbecame normal again and then he repeated the same operation again. I said, 'What is this?' They told me to proceed on and we went on till we came to a man Lying flat on his back, and another man standing at his head carrying a stone or a piece of rock, and crushing the head ofthe Lying man, with that stone. Whenever he struck him, the stone rolled away.

The man went to pick it up and by the time he returned to him, the crushed head had returned to its normal state and the man came back and struck him again (and so on). I said, 'Who is this?' They told me to proceed on; so we proceeded on and passed by a hole like an oven; with a narrow top and wide bottom, and the fire was kindling underneath that hole. Whenever the fire-flame went up, the people werelifted up to such an extent that they about to get out of it, and whenever the fire got quieter, the people went down into it, and therewere naked men and women in it. I said, 'Who is this?' They told me toproceed on. So we proceeded on till we reached a river of blood and a man was in it, and another man was standing at its bank with stones infront of him, facing the man standing in the river. Whenever the man in the river wanted to come out, the other one threw a stone in his mouth and caused him to retreat to his original position; and so whenever he wanted to come out the other would throw a stone in his mouth, and he would retreat to his original position. I asked, 'What is this?' They told me to proceed on and we did so till we reached a well-flourished green garden having a huge tree and near its root was sitting an old man with some children. (I saw) Another man near the tree with fire in front of him and he was kindling it up. Then they (i.e. my two companions) made me climb up the tree and made me enter ahouse, better than which I have ever seen. In it were some old men andyoung men, women and children.

Then they took me out of this house and made me climb up the tree and made me enter another house that was better and superior (to the first) containing old and young people. I said to them (i.e. my two companions), 'You have made me ramble all the night. Tell me all aboutthat I have seen.' They said, 'Yes. As for the one whose cheek you sawbeing torn away, he was a liar and he used to tell lies, and the people would report those lies on his authority till they spread all over the world. So, he will be punished like that till the Day of Resurrection.

The one whose head you saw being crushed is the one whom Allah had given the knowledge of Quran (i.e. knowing it by heart) but he used tosleep at night (i.e. he did not recite it then) and did not use to actupon it (i.e. upon its orders etc.) by day; and so this punishment will go on till the Day of Resurrection. And those you saw in the hole(like oven) were adulterers (those men and women who commit illegal sexual intercourse). And those you saw in the river of blood were those dealing in Riba (usury). And the old man who was sitting at the base of the tree was Abraham and the little children around him were the offspring of the people. And the one who was kindling the fire wasMalik, the gate-keeper of the Hell-fire. And the first house in which you have gone was the house of the common believers, and the second house was of the martyrs. I am Gabriel and this is Michael. Raise yourhead.' I raised my head and saw a thing like a cloud over me. They said, 'That is your place.' I said, 'Let me enter my place.' They said, 'You still have some life which you have not yet completed, and when you complete (that remaining portion of your life) you will then enter your place.' "

(end of hadith)

comment:

I think I heard something similar to the part where the person was getting his head crushed but from what i remember it was for concealing Islamic knowledge in general not just for hafizes (the people who memorize the whole Quran by heart, letter for letter, accent mark for accent mark)... but i'm no Alim (Islamic scholar) or anywhere close so don't just take my word for it... look it up ( www.islam.org ) or ask a real Alim or something.

Ralph would click there too, as you could see, he's pointing to it.

About/ Purpose/ Disclaimer/ Fine Print (except not really "fine"):

AIM allows such small profiles (1024 characters max, including links, color info and whatever)... subprofile just seems really gay to me, i dunno why, it just does. So here's a powerful alternative WebProfile © *.

I'm keeping it simple so don't come up to me and tell me stuff like, "Hey Amir you could ________, ________, and ________ to improve your page :) " casue if you do i'll tell you to ______ off, and go ______ yourself!!!!

hahaahahha

yeah i really will tell you to buzz off and go hit yourself... don't force me.

hahahahhaahaha

ok, it's not healthy when you laugh at your own jokes, but what can i say, i'm an ICS major.

ne way... my pt is that the page is extremely simple because:

What will prolly be on the site (page):

dang i prolly should make the fine print fine... this is getting long...

well i know that not many ppl view profiles... but i know i do... it's another distraction i've found when i'm trying to not do my hw. actually i know a few others do for sure cause:

  1. They bother to write their own
  2. mention stuff from my profile

hmm... what else...

i dunno... pretty nice counter at the bottom huh? it's built into front page, i dunno why ppl even bother learning html... these html editing programs really make learning html worthless to know... unless you are actually writing such programs like frontpage, or yeah, i guess if you're a big-time-hardcore webdesigner, but still, i'd rather make the basic foundation w/ like frontpage or netscape composer, then modify, modify, modify... too bad i realized that leanring HTML is fairly worthless for my level after i learned some.
