... Ibanez Project - ReFinish ...

 

  I recently began refinishing an Ibanez 7 string that I bought used for $180. This is far from my first project, but I definitely spent more time on this than any other project I have undertaken, and it shows.  
 
My goal was to remove all of the factory black paint, and refinish the back and sides with high gloss black nitrocellulose paint, and apply a bookmatched bigleaf quilted maple veneer to the top, with natural binding..
 
  I have documented the entire process from original nasty black carved up guitar to finished product.  Every image on the site is a thumbnail that will link to a full resolution photo.

  I took photos of every step of the way, documenting the process.  There are a ton of websites out there to help with this, but very few of them contain great photos.  I hope to show the beginning guitar refinisher exactly what it takes to completely redo a guitar.
