As an academic librarian, I have worked in reference, electronic resources management and interlibrary loan. I am currently finishing a master's degree in Art History, focusing on decorative arts and design.

My professional interests include:

  • library collection building (all media)
  • integration of electronic resources and traditional library collections
  • usage patterns, resource discovery and search behavior for online resources
  • web development and open-source solutions for database-driven websites
  • collection access, particularly cataloging and metadata for visual and cultural objects

At Gustavus, I provided reference service, taught library instruction classes and liaisoned with the Modern Languages, Geography, Environmental Studies and Theatre & Dance departments. I was responsible for access, licensing, linking, organization, customization, billing and statistics for the library's databases, full text journals, and reference tools (including RefWorks and SFX). I also served on the library's Wireheads committee (which manages computer hardware and software) and assisted with web development.

An online exhibit presenting the material culture of late medieval England (1377-1485) within the textual context of Shakespeare's eight major history plays. Created as part of an independent study for the M.A. in art history program at the University of St. Thomas.

Graduate Intern, summer 2007
Digitized advertising artwork and corporate identity design created by William Purcell for the Alexander Brothers Leather & Belting Company between 1916-1919. To be incorporated into the William Gray Purcell Papers at the Northwest Architectural Archives at the University of Minnesota. The project involved scanning materials, creating 278 metadata records in accordance with local and national standards, and researching and writing a collection overview for the Archives' website.
