THIS INFORMATION IS NOT TO BE TAKEN BACK TO ANY OF THESE VENDORS. If a knottie does not feel comfortable enough to leave HONEST feedback about a vendor then the reviews will not benefit anyone. Some professionals in the wedding industry feel they can have bad customer service because their "clients" will *hopefully* only be one-time clients. These reviews are a way to combat that bad customer service. Spread the word as to who went above and beyond the call of duty, and who just dropped the ball.

Angel's Bridal
OUMedBride: (A+) "I received my crinoline within THREE days of ordering from them. It was exactly what I wanted, fit perfectly, and was about 1/4 the cost of a bridal shop crinoline."

DSW & Payless:
Randomtulsagirl: (A+) "I LOVED my shoes. They were soooo comfortable for walking all around the reception. My youngest sister had strappy high heeled sandals and her feet were soooo sore after everything. But those were the shoes she wanted (and only $3!)”

David's Bridal
ChioCutie: (F for service, but B+ for product.) "I ordered my shoes and my BMs’ shoes from DB. I had searched everywhere for cute shoes for the BM’s and finally found some on clearance for $19.99 at DB, but they only had two pair at the OKC store. I called a few stores in TX and ended up rounding up all of the sizes I needed and they ended up being $9.99 a piece and the dying was free. It took about 10 days to get the shoes back after being dropped off to be dyed and mine were marked with the wrong date so they weren’t ready when I picked them up. I wasn’t pleased with the service at DB. I had to practically run people down to get any help, but I loved the way the shoes turned out."

Veils by Lana
OUMedBride: (A+) "My veil was BEAUTIFUL; exactly what I wanted and about 1/6 the cost of getting it at a bridal shop."

ALCOHOL

Byron’s Liquor Warehouse
brookeh67: (A+) "We bought several cases of wine at Byron’s. The experience was great. They guy really knew his wine (I was testing him) and the prices were great. Also, we had a case left over and they let us bring it back for cash!”

Frozen Drinks R Us
Brandella: (A+) "We were supposed to have a triple barrel margarita machine but there was a problem with it so we ended up with 2 double barrel machines at a discounted price! Tina really took care of us. What a great deal......they deliver and set up and the next day they pick up and clean up. All you have to do is buy the alcohol and have the bartender refill it when necessary. Cups, straws and mix come with the package."

Granny Had One
Sonnerbride: (A) "They are hard to get a hold of but worth hiring. One headache about having our reception at the Faculty House was that we had to hire an outside bartender who had liability insurance. Well it is hard to find someone that doesn't want to charge you $2,000. Luckily I found Granny Had One who let us supply our own alcohol and was very cheap.”

Suzy with Walnut Creek Chapel
KurtsQT: (A) "As some of you may know, Suzy is the bartender for WCC. She also has her own liquor store. So I was able to order the alcohol from her, have it delivered by her, iced down and served by her. Prices are very reasonable and she is very nice. My only complaint is (and i don't know if this is her fault) my grandpa went up there to get two more glasses of wine and she told him there was only enough for one more glass, but we ended up having 9 bottles of wine left over!"

OKCBrideinCA: (D-) "I can’t even begin to tell you how disappointed I was with this vendor. From the very beginning, I was adamant about not having 3.2% domestic beer at the wedding and requested an imported beer (Amstel Light) from her. I thought everything was fine until about 30 seconds before we were leaving the reception. Susie came up to me as the guests were filing out the door for our grand exit to introduce herself and to apologize for “beer mishap.” Of course, being the bride, I had no idea what she was talking about. She started to go on about not being able to find the right tap for the imported beer so they brought in a domestic. Then she said “Oah no! Well I talked to your dad so maybe I wasn’t supposed to tell you.” Ugh, you think!? We were literally walking out the door and she had to stop me to tell me that she messed up? I was not happy, not so much that the beer was 3.2% (everyone was wasted anyways) but because she had to stop me to tell me this as we were leaving the reception. Has she never heard the universal rule of “What the bride doesn’t know won’t hurt her”?? Also, since the cost of the domestic keg was less, she sent us a check after the wedding for the difference as well as included the amount for the alcohol that she bought back after the wedding. First off, the check she sent to us was the wrong amount so my mom wrote her a letter. Over three weeks have passed and Susie has not responding to the letter or sent another check for the correct amount. I just thought it was very unprofessional to 1) not have the right tap available in the first place when you know how important it was to your client (you own a liquor store so figure it out!) 2) She had to stop me at the most happy time of my life to tell me this (talk about raining on my parade) and 3) she hasn’t corrected her mistake and hasn’t responded to a formal letter that my mom sent to her. Okay, vent over! "

University Club
Kimminick: (B) "Unfortunately we had to use them. They were HUGE sticklers about everything. Ended up some people from my home town brought up their own bottle of wine & drank it in front of the bar. An underage kid got caught drinking. The things they griped my mom out for seemed pointless (they just had to interrupt her from dancing to bother her).”

Wine Cellar
arbw: (A++++++++) "The guys at the wine cellar are so knowledgeable. We got all of our wine & champagne from them + many bottles of wine for a few pre-wedding wine tastings. Our champagne (Domaine de Carneros) was amazing.”

ALTERATIONS & CLEANERS

Becky Fowler (Irving, TX; 972/986-8067)
Dallaschirogirl: (A+++) "This woman is a Godsend. I walked out of her house walking on water. She makes you feel like you are the most beautiful girl in the world. I was still losing weight so she did not want to alter my dress until last minute. I was a little worried about getting it back so late, but there were not problems. My bustle was perfect and the dress fit amazingly."

Joann’s tailor Shop
(61st & Sheridan, Tulsa (918) 481-1161)
Randomtulsagirl: (A+) "They were recommended by a friend and they said they would be open on the Friday after Thanksgiving. She had my dress done in a week and it fit perfectly.”

Kim Hoa Alterations
(7624 N Western Ave, Oklahoma City (405) 848-8469)
tracieou: (A++++++++++) "When I got back from school I tried on my dress, which had been altered by the women at J.J.Kelly and it was all wrong. I mean, it look like it was for someone else! It was too short, the straps were taken up so much that my boobs were coming out of my shoulders, and they went straight out instead of curving down with the slope of my shoulder. The zipper was bumpy all down the back, like I was a stegosaurus. It was SO BAD my dad was saying we would just have to buy a new dress (He didn’t really get the wedding dress buying process). We took it to Kim Hoa, though, and honest to God she had it perfect in 2 days!!! And she charged less than JJ Kelly did to mess it up!”

Lyd07: (B+) "My gown fit almost perfectly after the alterations. That says a lot because it was much too large and long waisted for me to begin with. I will use Kim again in the future."

Kim's Alterations (Norman)
Ktnbobby: (A+) "Excellent job and very quick."

Moliere Bridal
(6401 NW Expressway St # 126, Oklahoma City (405) 728-0485)

Pinkpumps: (A+) "see wedding dresses"

Sweiss Tailor, OKC(7101 NW Expressway St # 215, Oklahoma City, (405) 728-0814)
brookeh67: (A) "Sweiss Tailor did a great job on my alterations, was very reasonably priced, and was fast.”

Walden Cleaners
Ktnbobby: (A+) "They pressed my dress the day of the wedding and it only cost $22!"

BAKERY

Antonio Lee, Shawnee

Kimminick: (A++++) "Antonio is a good friend of the family. She makes cake on the side, she’s a middle school teacher. The cake was wonderful (at least it still was 2 ? weeks later! That’s when Anthony & I were able to eat it anyways). She actually made us 2 separate cakes, one for the reception (which was devoured!!!) and another for the party at the stadium. I gave her a picture of my cake, and she made it identical to what I wanted (even using black, which is a super hard color to make I hear).”

Cafe Athena & Desserts
KTNBOBBY: (A) "Deborah was great to work with. Her cakes are beautiful, affordable, and very tasty!"

Cakes by Roberta
SarahJanelle: "(A): The cake was excellent and looked very similar to what I wanted. It tasted so, so, so good and we received tons of compliments on it!"

Cookies N' Cards
(754 Asp Ave, Norman; 405/364-2760)
sadean: (A+) "My groom decided that he wanted to have strawberry cupcakes as his groom’s cake. Cookies N’ Cards on campus corner makes the best strawberry cupcakes with strawberry cream cheese icing. She made 150 cupcakes for us and we stacked them on a cupcake tower I purchased from cupcaketree.com”

Dream Makers of Tulsa
KJM2006: (B) "They were really nice to work with but there were a few things that didn’t go correctly. The cake was not the correct way we had picked out for display of the square layers. It was leaning due to one of the four plastic cake legs that are in the bottom layer was missing. The icing wasn’t what we thought we picked and discussed in our meeting. We are in the process of finding out what went wrong on the cake. The flowers were okay but not what I had given her in a picture with the corsages and bouquets. She did correct mine at the church with cutting the stems shorter. All in all this was real minor and no one noticed and it still turned out beautiful."

Janet Rosebeary's Designs in Baking
AlysonGail: (A+) "Everyone raved about how beautiful and delicious our cakes were. Steve's cake was a map of the US (he's a civil engineer)... It was so perfect. And Janet actually airbrushed the colors of my cake right there in the Depot. She's so awesome and so kind, and her prices are amazing. I honestly wish I could get married again just to have another beautiful cake!"

Johnnie’s Sweet Creations
(8419 S. Western Ave, Oklahoma City; 405/616-3255)
Carorob: (A++) "They did a wonderful job on our cakes. I had a weird request. I wanted a flashlight stuck in the top layer so that my topper would light up. Not only did the cakes taste great they looked even better. Plus for our 1-year anniversary they will recreate the top for only $15!”

kimnrog: (A+++) "The cake looked amazing. They stayed to set it up and take a picture. I would say that it tasted amazing but it is hard to remember. The only bite I got was from the cake cutting.”

jaysougirl: (A++++++++++ ) "We all know that her cakes are amazing. It was just like the picture I gave her and the groom's cake was perfect too. None of the cake has gone to waste and Jayson keeps bugging me to eat the top layer early!!”

Christmastime: (A) "The cakes were gorgeous and very delicious! In fact, we froze some of the groom's cake and thawed it out after three weeks. It was still scrumptous! We ordered cookies and breads through them, too, and they were a hit. The only reason they don't get an A+ is because the delivery people didn't let us know that they had stashed TWO BOXES of cookies under the serving table so we didn't even serve them at the reception! Still a rave, though.”

MEGLG: (B) "I know everyone loves this place, but I was a little dissapointed. It started when I went to the trial and brought a friend, my mom, and my mom's friend. They acted so annoyed that there were more people there. They wouldn't even give us more testers, so they pretty much came for no reason. The cakes were beautiful, exaclty what I had asked for. But I didn't think the grooms cake tasted that great, and mine seemed a tad dry. They are very reasonably priced and do produce beautiful cakes, but I just wasn't thrilled."

Ludgers Cakes & Catering
(6120 E 32nd Pl. Tulsa; 918/744-9988)
sadean: (A+++) "My cake was a vanilla Bavarian cream cheese cake served with a raspberry sauce on the side. Besides the flowers, it was my favorite thing at the wedding. I had originally asked for the cake to be tiered so that we could place fresh flowers in between each layer, but the week before the wedding they told me my cake was too heavy to do that. Instead they just stacked the tiers, but sent an extra 100 slices to make up for the “mistake”. The cake turned out absolutely beautiful even if it wasn’t exactly what I had pictured in my mind. Also, it was the best wedding cake I have ever tried. If you ever get a chance to taste their cakes at a bridal show, it’s well worth it!”

Tulsaokbride: (A) "This cake was delicious. We went with their signature type...the cheesecake kind...can't remember what it's called. Anyhow...we went with a three tiered chocolate cake (no groom's cake) and the florist put fresh flowers on it and I was really impressed. I think several people went back for seconds! Their prices seemed reasonable compared to other places I checked out.”

Merritt’s Bakery
(3202 E 15th St, Tulsa (918) 747-2301)
Randomtulsagirl: (A+) "Our wedding cake was beautiful. I was anxious to see how the color would turn out, and the pictures I have right now just don’t do it justice. I loved look and design.”

Brandella: (A+) "Merritt's is known for their wedding cakes for a reason. Our yellow cake with chocolate and lemon fillings was delicious, looked great and was delivered on time. Lots of compliments!"

Ms. Laura's Cakes
Medicsbride: (A++) "She came thru when we were in a pinch because the origional cake person was in Ill. withher father who had just had a stroke and the cake was really good."

OKSUGAR.com
Lyd07: (A+++) "After the Ruth’s fiasco (see separate review), I recommended to my fiancé to find someone else to do his cake. OKSUGAR did a brilliant job, and the cake was delicious! Definitely check them out! Here is a link to my husband’s actual cake that she put on her site."

Ruth’s Sweete Justice
(7602 N. May Ave, Oklahoma City (405) 879-CAKE)
dansbridetobe: (A+) "The cake was delicious and gorgeous! Very elegant and tons of comments on how good it was."

kjepp: (F) "Ruth’s Sweet Justice proved to be a disappointment. When I made appointments with Ruth, she repeatedly substituted an assistant, and each assistant answered my questions differently. When I insisted on talking to her personally, Ruth informed me my wedding was on her busiest weekend and she wouldn’t have much time to deal with me. She also failed to return calls the week before my wedding. She did get a cake to the reception, but my friends kept me away from it so I wouldn’t see how bad it looked."

tracieou: (A) "Lots of compliments on the cake. It was blue, so a bit different than what people are used to, especially the older generations. It tasted great too! We did have some left-overs, even after ordering less than the # of people there (215 for 250 people) but we also had a chocolate fountain, so that might explain it."

Sunnflower03: (A+) "I took in a picture of what I wanted and the cake looked EXACTLY the same!! Plus it tasted wonderful. She was such a delight to work with.”

Pinkpumps: (A+) "Ruth did my wedding cake, the groom's baseball umpire themed cake, and a lot of chocolate covered strawberries decorated to look like tuxedos and baseballs. Everything tasted fabulous and looked gorgeous.”

Me&Brandon: (A+) "Cake looked awesome...and the guests ate every single bit."

Lyd07:(D-) "I was VERY disappointed with Ruth’s. One bad experience after the next. I went in for my consultation (after I’d heard great things about them and had put down a deposit) and the girl (probably 20 years old) was very unprofessional and told me that anyone who applies butter cream with texture was just bad at using icing. Then I asked to see Grooms cake pictures, and I tell you, what they showed me was horrible!!! I left very frustrated and called for another appointment with “Ruth”. I specifically asked to meet with Ruth!! So I went in again and Ruth wasn’t’ there, but another consultant. Anyway, she was easy to work with so I was OK at the time. But when they delivered the cake, it was crooked and they had left the beading decoration off!!! I had a plain fondant cake with ribbon trim, and the only other thing I had asked for was beading!!! And it wasn’t there!! Also, they mixed up the flavors of the cake, and it wasn’t that good anyway. I would definitely STAY AWAY from Ruth’s! The cake was beautiful anyway because we put fresh orchids on it, and nobody but me knew the beading was missing and the flavors were wrong."

OKC_Bride_in_CA: (A+). "I was very happy with Ruth. Our cake looked amazing and it tasted great! It actually turned out better than I even imagined!"

SoonerBride: Cake: (A+) "Ruth's Sweet Justice: Ruth is the best in the business. What else can I say? She's reliable and makes a darn good cake. We still have people talking about how good it was."

Sam’s Club
Randomtulsagirl: (A+) "We ordered a chocolate fudge sheet cake from Sam’s as our grooms cake (A full sheet cake) and everyone loved it too. We only had about ? of the cake left at the end of the day.”

Susan Taunton (Walnut Creek Chapel Vendor)
MrsMuelly: (A+): “She may be hard to get in touch with at times, but it is well worth it. We had so many compliments on the cakes. They looked exactly like I wanted and they were completely yummy! I know that she can create anything a bride can imagine.”

ChioCutie: (A) "I used Susan because she was included in the package at Walnut Creek Chapel. I had heard horror stories of how hard she was to get ahold of, but I never had to try so I have no experience with this. When I went for my second meeting at WCC, I took a picture of what I wanted my cake and the groom’s cake to look like. She just took them and stuck them in her briefcase and was ready to leave! I had to stop her to ask about what flavors I could have. We ended up going with Italian Crème for my cake and chocolate for the groom’s. The cake was gorgeous, but not exactly what I had asked for. I wanted brown fondant “ribbon” around each tier and that was mysteriously missing, but the rest of the cake looked and tasted amazing. The groom’s cake was adorable. Heath wanted a Green Bay Packer’s cheese head and I was a little worried about how it would turn out, but it was perfect. It looked just like the picture we had given her. Both of the cakes tasted delicious…probably the best I’ve ever had. Susan is much more affordable than some of the other more popular cake people and the cakes are definitely up to par on taste."

erica_osu2001: (C) "I would recommend using someone else. The cake didn't look at all like the picture except it was white and round. She called me the day before the wedding to make sure she had the right picture - you'd think she would have checked before."

United Supermarket (Altus, OK)
Dallaschirogirl: "In a small town, you get to get your cake at a grocery store. It was very yummy though, but honestly--how can you mess up buttercream?"

BRIDAL GOWNS

Bride’s Mart/Alfred Angelo Bridal
brookeh67: (D-) "First of all, let me say- my dress (Maggie Soterro) was gorgeous- this was not the problem! I found the girls at Bridesmart to be rather rude. I bought my dress as a sample(they were just being bought out by Alfred Angelo and getting rid of everything else) so there were a few minor issues (loose beads, etc.) They said they would fix all of those things at no charge. They tell me I can pick it up in two weeks. When I go to pick it up, they say it will be two more weeks. Apparently, they don’t have a seamstress on staff (just someone who is there like once a week). So three weeks later I go pick it up and there are still several places where the beading is loose and they refused to do anything about it. Also, they had to order my tiara, which I picked up at the same time as my dress and it had EIGHT rhinestones missing! So they order another one and three are missing from this one (they said they would glue them in!). Finally, the third tiara arrived with all stones in place. I kept it wrapped in tissue paper, in the bag, in the top of my closet for about 6 months. Then, when I got it out for my hair trial, two of the stones had fallen out. Apparently, these things are just extremely low quality. So I called and they said there is nothing they can do about it and I should just super glue them back in, I did that and the glue turned the stones opaque white instead of sparkly clear. Obviously not happy about that, especially after I paid $75.00 for that stupid thing. Over all, I thought their alterations, customer service and quality of product (other than the dress itself which I was very happy with) to be absolutely horrible and I would not recommend them to anyone.”

Beshara's
Brandella: (B) "I bought my dress off the rack at Beshara's for a heavily discounted price. They did not offer to help me find anyone to do alterations or press my dress before the wedding. The service while I was there was great though."

Bridal Classiques
KJM2006: (A+) "I worked with Leyla and she was real nice and easy to work with. I had heard some horror stories after I went there but my experience was really good. I fell in love with my dress, the alterations were really good and they cleaned my dress and held it for me until the day before the wedding. Great Experience."

Caroline at Helen Enox Fabrics:
kjepp: (A+) "She made a fantastic Monique Lhuillier copy for me. I got the J.J. Kelley look for the David’s price. It was fantastic to work with Caroline, and making my own dress was one of the best decisions we made!"

OKCBride2B: (A+) "Caroline is one of the most talented seamstresses around. I went in with an exact idea of the lace jacket I wanted made for my dress and she reproduced it perfectly. The fit was spot-on and her attention to detail is unmatched! I saved about $600 off of the retail price of this designer Marisa lace jacket and I have one that is made just for me. Her work is on display in the store, so you can see it firsthand. I would recommend her without a doubt!"

David's Bridal
dansbridetobe: (A-) "The customer service wasn't the GREATEST (A couple of times I had to wait for 15 minutes to find a sales person when they weren't busy, even when I had an appointment) but the dress is great and the alterations went flawlessly. I was a bit nervous after all the stories I've heard, but it turned out great."

SarahJanelle: (A+) "The people at David’s Bridal in Waco were excellent to work with. They held my dress for much longer than they usually do since I had an out-of-state wedding and didn’t want to keep the dress at home with my FI. Alterations were also great, and they worked with my crazy schedule to fit me in during hours they don’t typically do alterations. I was very pleased with this experience as I’ve had several not-so-great encounters with DB in Tulsa so was a little nervous, but everything turned out great."

Dallaschirogirl: (A) "They were awesome in the fact that I got my dress in January and lost 20 pounds. They let me keep it at the store so that if I needed to exchange it, I would be able to."(David’s Bridal, Lewisville, TX,)

Enchanted Evening
jesilyne: (A) "I worked with Franni. She was very nice and easy to work with. I walked in without an appointment and still got to try on as many dresses as I liked. I ended up ordering from them because they had many of the same dresses as Moliere Bridal for a better price. My Impressions #2525 came in early and perfect. I also bought my shoes there. My only complaint is that I took my dress home and my shoes had not been finished. I wasnt informed of this until I called them. My shoes were dyed to match the store sample and they are definitely darker than my dress but I am not picky like that! Overall, Very good experience.”

JJ Kelly
tracieou: (B+) "I wasn’t a huge fan of some of their policies (Ex. having to pay to come try on the dress a 3rd time to make sure it’s the one…I have a big family that doesn’t get along so they all had to come separately) and they were pretty snotty most of the time, but I got a good deal on the dress.”

ChioCutie: (A) "I got my Ramona Keveza dress at JJ Kelly’s during a big sale. When I went to try on dresses for the first time, Dahlia was extremely helpful. I told her my price range and she was very good about only showing me dresses I could afford. I was worried that since they carried such high-end dresses, they would push dresses on me that were way out of my budget, but they didn’t. I also purchased both of my veils here (a blusher and a cathedral length veil), my bustier, and had all of my alterations done. All of the staff was always very helpful and friendly. I especially liked Dahlia and Jane. I was very pleased with their service."

Lulu’s Bridal in Dallas
(2728 Routh St, Dallas, TX 75201; 214/871-9610)
Carorob: (A++++) "Their sister store Stardust is in Plano. They were the snobbiest store I went to so I give them an F-, but I give their seamstress an A. My dress was by Pronovias. It was beautiful and extremely comfortable. I bought the veil and headpiece in Dallas at a boutique. I am hoping the head piece becomes an heirloom.”

Moliere Bridal:
Sunnflower03: (A+) "I bought my gown, shoes, bridesmaids dresses, and rented the tuxes from them. They were absolutely wonderful to work with! Some people have said that they are pricy, but you get what you pay for.”

Pinkpumps: (A+) "I bought my dress, the bridesmaid dresses, and had all alterations done at Moliere. My dress came from the sample sale and was discounted to $500. The seamstress at Moliere was very easy to work with. She shortened my cathedral length train into a gorgeous sweep.”

KurtsQT: (A) "I bought my shoes and flower girl tiaras here and rented the tuxes from them. I also had my dress and veil steamed here. They are all super nice people. Not snobby at all. I mostly worked with Laura and she was fantastic."

SoonerBride06: (B) "They were great while I was ordering my gown, veil, etc., but service tended to slack off after the initial purchase was made. It took my dress about 12 weeks to come in and it was great, but a little big. They only have one seamstress and she is booked solid in the summer so after my first fitting it was eight weeks until my next fitting. I had to squeeze in my bridal pictures before the wedding due to this. My dress still ended up being a bit big and it bugged me throughout the reception because I had to keep pulling it up. However, the gown was beautiful and I felt like a princess.

OKC Bridal Showroom
(10830 N. May, Oklahoma City; 405/775-9020)
MrsMuelly: (B) "This dress was my source of heartache through the wedding. I knew what I wanted and had to get that across to the designer. Mo was very kind throughout, but there were quite a few hiccups. Mo was straightforward with me when I detailed the dress I originally wanted. The staff will be honest to the point of hurting feelings if they feel the dress is not suited (but they do it to make sure you will be happy in the end). I would use Mo again, but going into it I would be aware that I need to stay on top of the design (and my dress) at all times and have a slightly harder shell. All in all the dress was beautiful and finished on time.”

Sonnerbride: (A+) "Nikki was my savour and a God sent. Her and Moe did an AMAZING job on my dress, my mother-in-laws dress, and fixing my bridesmaid dresses. My dress was beautiful and they did everything they could to make me feel pretty. They even fixed my veil that I did not buy from them and made sashes for my bridesmaid dresses (that I also did not buy from them) that made them look beautiful.”

Pomp and Pagentry
(7317 S Western Ave, Oklahoma City; 405/631-1927)
jaysougirl: “(B+++++): I only gave Pomp and Pagentry a B because they said that they would have alterations done and they ran behind and caused the bridal picture date to be moved. They do free alterations and everyone was great to work with!!!”

Christmastime: (A+) "I can't say enough about this little gem! My dress was just as amazing as I had hoped, but the service was more than I ever expected! Katy and Ann are very honest about what looks good and what doesn't, shipping time expectations, payment options and services offered. Alterations are free as is storage before the wedding and steaming both the dress and the veil. They're also great about calling you to let you know anything about your dress as far as arrival, appointments and fittings. Those girls get both thumbs up!”

OKC_Bride_in_CA: (A+) "I had a really wonderful experience with this salon. The cost of the dress was just a little more than what I could get online at Netbride.com but Pomp and Pageantry does free alterations so it evened out for me. The staff was very friendly and attentive and they did a wonderful job on the alterations on my dress. I would definitely recommend them. (Maggie Sottero "Ophelia.")

Sabra Bridal
(7101 NW Expressway St # 420, Oklahoma City; 405/720-6797)
KurtsQT: (C-) "What can I say, outside of my dress being the "one" they were terrible to work with. Extremely snobby, unknowledgeable, rude, etc. Told me that my dress was "an exclusive design for Sabra" which I have heard that they have told other people too. I also had looked at ordering my bridesmaids' dresses from them. I took three of my bridesmaids with me to try on dresses there. Initially I was going to put them in pale pink dresses, but two of them did not look right in that color, so I decided on black with pale pink accents. I went back there about a week or so later and brought my maid of honor with me to try on the two dresses that I had narrowed it down too. Finally I had decided on which one I wanted and was ready to pay half down on all of the dresses. Then they decided to inform me that ALL of the bridesmaids dresses that they had tried on could not be ordered with pale pink accents. They failed to tell us this even they knew or should have known what the color scheme that I was going for. Needless to say I didn't even have my dress steamed there because did not want to deal with their snobbiness(sp?)."

Ktnbobby: (A) "Good selection and overall experience."

Stardust Celebrations (Plano TX)
Kimminick: “(A): They were very friendly to me. It could have been we went down over Labor Day weekend, and no one was in the store (it was a Sunday & they’re usually closed). My dress is Alvina Valenta & there was a trunk shoe going on, so we got a good deal on my dress. Alternations went wonderfully.”

The Clothes Horse
Medicsbride: (A++++) When David's Bridal bailed on me I found a dress there and they even let me put off alterations until after my surgery even though that only left 3 weeks til the wedding .

sadean: “I bought my dress at a closeout sale in Lawton last August. I ended up getting my dress for $200, originally priced $750. It was identical to one of the dresses that David's Bridal carries. And it didn't need any alterations!”

BRIDAL LUNCHEON LOCATIONS

The Chalkboard
Tulsaokbride: “We had our reception lunch at The Chalkboard in the Ambassaor hotel (where we also stayed the nights around the wedding...a great hotel!). The restaurant was great (except for one waiter who apparentely didn't know what kind of food they'd be serving us.) and it was a nice intimate setting.”

Cowboy Hall of Fame
MrsMuelly: “(B-): The environment was nice and the food was great, but we sat at a very long table, so it was hard to converse with everyone. Plus with the marble and high ceilings, everything echoed - so the grandmothers had a hard time hearing.”

Montfort Inn (Norman)
Carorob: “(C): This cozy Bed & Breakfast looks like a great place to stay but I wasn't too happy with the brunch they served. They were very strict on the time of the event and then took for ever to serve us so it ended up eating into my hair and make-up time. I wish they would have just told us they couldn't do it. I give them a C. My grandmothers and aunt threw the luncheon and brought a cake up from Dallas. The cake was baked by Kristin Rahal from Tart on Lovers lane and Inwood it was delicious! She gets an A.”

BRIDESMAID DRESSES

25th Street Bazaar (Waco)
SarahJanelle: "(A+): This was the last place on earth I expected to find my BM dresses, but I did and was very pleased with them. They even let me take a couple of the dresses up to OK with me for my BM’s to try on so they’d know what size to order…without even paying anything! The dresses were super cheap too."

BCBG outlet (Allen, TX)
Carorob: “(A+++): They only cost $75 each! I let them pick out their own shoes. Definitely worth stopping in to check them out. The only catch is nothing is returnable. I had 5 of my bridesmaids come try them on and I guessed on two of their sizes and it worked out fine.”

BridalShop.com
KurtsQT: (F) "I ordered two candle lighter dresses from them back in Jan. for my sister and my fi's sister. My sister's came two weeks ago and is perfect, great color, fit, etc. My fi's sister's has not yet come. We have sent emails, left messages with no luck until today. I finally got a hold of some one today and asked that they check on our order. They said they would call me back in 20 minutes or so.. They accidentally ordered an adult size 14, rather than a child's size 14 and they will not be able to get the correct size to us for 6 weeks. My wedding is in 10 days!! They were not at all apologetic and now i do not know what to do. I have one girl with a dress and one girl without a dress and their dresses have to match so now I guess i have to go hunting for two more dresses on top of everything else that I must take care of! Thanks for letting me vent, plus I wanted to warn everyone else. "

David's Bridal
sadean: "(A): Unlike so many other people on this board, I didn't have one problem with David’s or any of their staff. My bridesmaids and I never had to wait (even if we didn't have any appointment) and the dresses were ready to be picked up 3 weeks after I placed the order. I can understand the problems other people might have had with them because they do seem kind of flaky, but that was not my personal experience, so I had to give them an A.”

David’s Bridal & JC Penney's
Randomtulsagirl: “(A): We got my dress and my MOH dress at David’s (straight off the rack). They were slightly rude when we first got there (but then again we didn’t have an appointment either). Everything worked out. We did not have alterations done there! (My younger sister’s dress came from JC Penney’s)”

EllaPark Bridal
KurtsQT: (A) "These people are wonderful to work with! They have excellent customer service. The dresses that I ordered were about $40 cheaper than ordering them at a bridal shop and they arrived about 6 weeks early. Definitely recommend them!"

Houseofbrides.com
tracieou: “(B): Even though the bridesmaid dresses were all placed in one order, they sent dresses from different dye lots, so you could tell the difference in color when they were next to each other. It turned out OK in pictures, but their customer service department is awful!!! They would just say “no returns or exchanges, no matter what” over & over. Um, I’m sorry, but if you sent me the wrong dress, I could exchange it. And technically, these were the wrong dresses. I got over it though.

RachieSLP: "(B): No problem with the dresses, but they were very difficult to get in touch with. I emailed several times about the delivery date with no response. I also called several times but could never get off of “hold.” The dresses came on time, and everything was fine, but I have heard much better things about www.netbride.com"

JJ Kelly
erica_osu2001: (A+) "Very helpful. The sales people are very knowledgeable about what looks good on who and are very helpful." (MOB dresses)

NetBride.com
ChioCutie: (A+) "I ordered AfterSix dresses from NetBride and was extremely happy with the quality of the dresses, the price and the promptness of receiving my order. I had all of my attendants try on the dress at dress stores in their area or get measured. All of the girls dresses fit perfectly and were exactly what I could have gotten in a dress shop. The sizing chart on the NetBride website is very accurate. The customer service at NetBride is also really great. They are extremely helpful and courteous. I received my dresses almost 6 weeks sooner than the date that I was quoted and ended up saving about $75 per dress."

Brandella: (A+) "Who doesn't love netbride? Great prices and the quickest shipping ever! The BMs looked awesome!"

KJM2006: (A+) "I am another satisfied customer. Everything from the quality of the dress to the price made me very pleased in ordering the dresses from Netbride. We ordered Dessy 2015 in black and retailed at $208. I ordered them through Netbride for $132. I ordered them on March 30 with confirmation on expected delivery of July 3. I received the dresses on May 25. Highly recommend them."

OKC_Bride_in_CA: (A+) "Netbride was great to work with! I ordered the dresses online and all the dresses were in great condition and all the correct sizes when they arrived. I received them about a month and a half before their latest delivery date and I saved about $80/per dress by ordering them from Netbride instead of a local bridal salon. The girls looked great in them! (After 6 in Rose)"

OKC Bridal Showroom
(10803 N May Ave OKC; 405/775-9020)
MrsMuelly: “Mo also made the BM dresses. The black and white looked great! I would definitely recommend black for any bride with bridesmaids of varying sizes.”

Pearl's Place
dansbridetobe: (A++++) "The dresses came in two weeks early. The only bad thing was they shipped to my home address instead of work, but I got that changed with UPS, and it was no big deal. The dresses are PERFECT!"

Pomp and Pageantry
(7317 S Western Ave, Oklahoma City; 405/631-1927)
Sonnerbride: (B-) "The first time I went in to pick out dresses they told me the one I chose came in dark brown. Then they called me a week later and said it did not come in dark brown so I needed to pick another dress. Needless to say this led to me having to take them to Bridal Showroom and have sashes added to cover the ugly bows on them and the girls didn't get them until the day before the wedding (Pomp and Pageantry's fault). Other than that the dresses were pretty and Pomp and Pageantry had the cheapest prices I could find.”

RKBridal
AlysonGail: (A+) " I had an awesome experience with RK. We ordered all three of my bridesmaids dresses from them, and the price that they had quoted for us was a little higher than the price from House of Brides... I faxed them a copy of the House of Brides price as well as a copy of their offer for free shipping, and RK gave us free shipping and 5% off the House of Brides price! Plus, all the dresses came in earlier than expected and were gorgeous!"

Sabra Bridal
(7101 NW Expressway St # 420, Oklahoma City; 405/720-6797)
erica_osu2001: (B) "For my dress they were great, but the girls that work there are a bit younger and seem to be better for the "prom" crowd. They tried to have my mom try on bridesmaids dresses, which obviously weren't going to work for her."

Southern Charm
jaysougirl: (A) "Southern Charm was great to work with. They were always willing to help and answer questions. My only complaint was that because my bridesmaids were from out of town and unable to attend 2 fittings, their dresses did not fit very good. I wish that things would have been right from first fitting. But, the dresses were so cute!!”

ktnbobby: (B) "The dresses were awesome, but I ordered them 5 or more months in advance and they weren't finished until the day before the wedding. I think the new Project Runway fame is what caused the delay. One excuse they had for my dresses no being ready was that Chanel 5 was on their way to do an interview."

Tybie Eidson
whatsinaname?: (A++++++++) "You would not believe what a hit these dresses were--they were absolutely stunning--I was a bit jealous of my BM's actually. Tybie got every dress perfect on the first fitting and then stuck around the whole wedding day pinning ribbons, ironing, etc. All the guests were asking where they came from and begging them to design something for them. She's fantastic. She's in fashion design school at OSU so I don't know how many weddings she's up for doing but let me know if you want to reach her and I can ask.”

CATERERS

A Spot For Tea (Walnut Creek's caterer)
erica_osu2001: (A+) "Our food was absolutely wonderful! We had a buffet dinner. Usually buffet food is mediocre, but I had a ton of compliments on the food and the chapel even packed up the leftovers to take home (which we definately ate some that night after the wedding!)"

OKCBrideInCA: (C+). "If I could do it all over again, I would have used an outside caterer. I was not impressed at all with the food when it came out. The chicken and the beef were dry and it wasn't as presentable as I hoped. Although we only had around 120 guests, it took a long time for everyone to get served. Our table was completely finished with our meal while some guests still weren't served yet. Overall, the meal was very average although the appetizers were good."

Abbey Road Catering (Norman; 405/360-1058)
brookeh67: (B) "The food from Abbey Road was fantastic (by and away the best meal I’ve ever had at a catered wedding.) We served roasted Pork Tenderloin, mashed potato bar (without martini glasses although this is how it is ordinarily done), a fresh green salad with choice of dressings, dinner rolls, and a fruit tray. It was all fantastic- all of our guests raved about the quality and presentation (it looked great.) The staff was wonderful. They were all very well dressed and were constantly making rounds picking up plates and refilling drinks. Also, the bar service was wonderful. Mixed drinks were well made (not watered down at all) and the girl in the bar was very fast. Kris is really easy to work with (but see below) and was very flexible regarding payment arrangements. She even agreed to hold one of my checks until payday after the wedding. The only reason I am giving her a B is my experience with her during the planning process. I had a hard time getting her to return my phone calls and never got her to give me a contract in writing (despite the fact that I have a record of 13 phone calls made to her over a period of 7 months trying to get one.) She will tell you that she is laid back, I interpreted this as very unprofessional. This made me a little nervous leading up to the wedding. Other than this, though, everything was fantastic. It couldn’t have been any better the day of the wedding.”

Chef Le Mels
kimnrog: (A+++) "Did an excellent job keeping our hor d'ouevre buffet and bar going strong. Everyone complimented the food but DH and I didn't get to eat until we were back in our hotel room. I loved that they packed us a box and we were able to have a picnic in bed.”

Cowboy Sharkies
Randomtulsagirl: (A+) "The food was GREAT. We had so many compliments from everyone on the food. We had brisket, pork, and sausage, (plus beans, coleslaw, bread, etc.) It was awesome.”

Escargot’s
KJM2006: (A+) "Loved working with Sam, the owner. I chose the location because they did it all from catering, setting it up and cleaning up. They provided the linens, simple centerpieces, etc. The food was really good. We could bring in our own alcohol. The wait staff was very professional. Highly recommend this location."

Deep Fork Grill
Lyd07: (A) "Deep Fork was great! Easy to work with, very accommodating, experienced and delicious! No worries/hassles here. We had lots of compliments from guests, and they’ll let you provide your own alcohol."

Eli's Custom Catering
(1117 NW 25th St, OKC; 405/524-4705)
ChioCutie: (A+) "I had originally booked a restaurant to do the catering for our wedding. The menu they had given us was nothing special and was going to cost us almost $10 a head. When I spoke with Kevin at Eli’s he gave me a lower quote and the food was amazing. We had heavy hors d’ veours that included: fruit and cheese, tomato bruschetta, Tuscan meatballs, sesame chicken skewers, bacon wrapped tenderloin, hand-rolled Asian egg rolls, and a few more. The food was delicious!! I couldn’t believe that we were able to get such amazing, gourmet food for almost half as much as I was originally quoted. Everyone at the wedding commented on how great the food was. Kevin was so easy to work with and really worked hard to stay within our budget but still give us a good selection of great food. I highly recommend Eli’s Custom Catering for your wedding, we were very happy with their service. "

Johnnie's Catering:
MrsMuelly: (A+) "The entire staff was extremely professional and helpful too. We had a wide array of food (buffet style) and everyone was eating. The displays were perfect, and the chocolate fountain was a big hit. They did use plastic plates, but no one noticed. They use the clear "fancy" plates which look nice anyway, so don't let this stray you away from Johnnie's.”

Judy Nantze
KurtsQT: (A+) "I cannot say enough about Judy and her sister Nola. They did a wonderful job and are extremely affordable. They go to my maid of honor's church and run a small catering business. Page me if you want their phone number. Also they will make whatever you want. Like I gave them a recipe for spinach artichoke dip and they made it for me and my husband wanted smokies rolled up in crescent rolls and they did that for me as well.

Ludger's Catering
SarahJanelle: (D) "We were very disappointed in the chocolate fountain, mostly with the service though. First of all, we paid around $300 - $350 for what we thought was going to be a large chocolate fountain. Turns out it wasn't very big at all, so that was frustrating since we could've gotten one about 4 feet tall for the same price elsewhere. Also, they didn't arrive until a little after 5 p.m., which is when the ceremony was starting. We tried all day long to contact someone and could never get an answer. When the guy did show, he had attitude saying it didn't take long to set up so they had plenty of time. Again, this would have been fine had we been previously informed that they wouldn't be there until that late so we weren't worrying about if they were a no-show. I think the thing that bothered me the most was I was waiting in the ballroom (at Dresser) for my entrance when the guy from Ludger's comes wheeling in telling me to move so he could set up. So I'm trying to get out of HIS way so he can set up....simply not ideal and very unprofessional. One final thing...the chocolate fountain was a mess! Granted, they're going to have drips. But when you pay for an attendant, you assume they'll keep the area clean...not so much. This was by far the biggest waste of money. At least the chocolate was good! :)"

whatsinaname?: (B+) "cake/catering/bartending/service/rentals: (used Abco rents for rentals which gets a seperate A+ because they were nnice, quick and their tables, tents and chairs were gorgous and perfectly clean). As for Ludgers, the food was great, though we ran out--which was admittadly my fathers fault because he still wouldn't believe that my husbands emtire huge northern- catholic family would be travelling 10+ hours for the wedding--which they, literally, all did adding on about 75 people from what my dad believed would come. Luckily everyone had some food even if they didn't all get everything, there was some chicken and some stir fry left over but the salmon and itialian dip with bruschetta were long gone. the cake tasted amazing but it was pretty ugly--it looked miniature, the layers were too short and they used thick piping in place of thin. the service was very good, the dishes were cleared quickly but they didn't bring out the champagne and instead my friends and family ran around serving people before the toast, though I can take partial blame for never giving them nor my coordinator a timeline (note future brides, make a timeline for everyone)”

Mershon's (Tulsa; 918/747-0623)
Tulsaokbride: “I was actually a little disappointed here. These were great people to work with before the wedding. Totally nice and open to doing anything. But on the day of I noticed some things that were a little different than what I was expecting (in terms of food) and when we went to cut the cake they didn't have any plates or champagne or anything ready even though they had been given a heads up. Now...I can't say it was all their fault I suppose since I probably don't know the entire story (maybe something happened that I didn't know about?), but I think since this was one of the MOST expensive parts of the wedding, I felt like I didn't get my money's worth. (Oh...we did a buffet style hor'd'oeuvers type thing.)”

Nibbles by Grandeur Affaires
Brandella: (B) "Emeline was very open to our ideas for our catering and flowers and was very easy to work with in the beginning. At our last meeting to finalize all the details (1 week before the wedding) she said she didn't know that we needed a bartender! We had discussed the margarita machine and beer in every previous meeting! We got it all straightened out and I left feeling okay. Over the next week she emailed me with questions about details we had already discussed, but instead of freaking out I just answered them and hoped for the best. It all turned out great. The food was great, the flowers were beautiful (just bouquets, bouts, and corsages) and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Olive Garden
AlysonGail: (A) "The food from the Olive Garden was great. We had set up our own catering stands, so all we had to do was to pick up the food and pop the tins into the catering setup. Everything went off without a hitch, and we were able to save a ton of money and give everyone something that they loved."

OU Catering:
Kimminick: (A) "The staff was very friendly. I had to ask a million questions towards the end of the night. We had a lot of food left over, and I wanted to take some of it home with us (since we didn’t get to eat any of it). They ended up boxing up 8 Styrofoam boxes full of food!!”

Carorob: (A) "I heard the food was good. I didn't have a chance to taste any. But the set up was nice. And their prices were fairly reasonable considering we had to use them ( A stipulation of the room rental) We had some problems with the drinks ( a keg broke) but OU's catering department made it up to me. (Just be sure to specify glassware and not plastic ware and you may want to ask your bakery to cut the cake. While their catering prices are reasonable...I paid twice as much to cut the cake as I did for the cake.”

Pepe Delgado's (752 Asp Ave, Norman; 405/321-6232): sadean: (A++) "This is my favorite restaurant in Norman and so we had to have them cater our reception. We had shrimp stuffed jalapenos, chips/salsa, beef fajitas, chicken breast marinated in a spicy red sauce, and fried red snapper. Unfortunately, with a big white dress on I was scared to eat at the reception, but everyone tells me it was delicious.”

Saylor & Company (Claremore; 918/261-7902)
SarahJanelle: (A+) "Lisa also was in charge of the catering for our reception, and it was FABULOUS! We had a very generous selection of food, and it was all excellent. The guests absolutely loved everything. On top of that, her presentation was wonderful! She provided all the decorations on the food table and it really looked fabulous. (Her supply of decorations also came in handy when we ran into problems with what I’d planned on using for the unity candle. Turned out she had something I liked even better, so it worked out great!) She also did a Java Dave’s coffee bar, which was a huge hit with our guests. Best of all, her prices were very, VERY reasonable!"

Three Rivers Catering (Altus, OK)
Dallaschirogirl: (A++++) "I was totally in awe when I arrived at the catering hall. I was under the impression that we were going to be using clear plastic cups, plates, silverware, etc, but was I shocked. When I got to the hall to decorate on Friday, there were crystal glasses, silverware, and real plates already set up. I guess this is really, how it is supposed to be, but in Podunckville, OK, it was a big deal to me. After the buffet was finished, they broke it down to give more dance room. They were very easy to work with and pretty much gave me everything I wanted without hesitation."

Zio’s (Rehearsal Dinner Catering)
KJM2006: (A-) "First of all I love their food and I would had ranked them higher. But, they were in the process of merging their catering to one location and then choosing which store would do the catering. Anyways, my RD didn’t get on the calendar. So therefore, they didn’t deliver our food until about 2 hours later than scheduled because not one of the locations had it on their calendar. They sincerely apologized and they didn’t charge us. I gave them a good rating because, although they failed to deliver the food on time, they did have awesome food and service and the atmosphere where we were, enabled us to socialize and just hang out with each other until they arrived."

CEREMONY LOCATIONS (including churches)

All Souls Episcopal Church (6400 N Pennsylvania Ave, Nichols Hills; 405/842-1461)
kjepp (A) "We were married at All Souls’ Episcopal Church at NW 63rd and Penn. It’s great if you’re Episcopal and looking for a church."

Chapel In The Woods
Randomtulsagirl: (A -) "The Chapel was great – It took them a little bit to actually get us started but otherwise there were no major issues – everything went very smoothly.”

Church of St. Benedict (Broken Arrow)
Brandella: (A++) This is the church we regularly attend. We absolutely love Father Valentine! He really personalized the ceremony just for us (as much as you can in a Catholic ceremony!) and we got many compliments on it. Our organist Beryl and vocalist Kathy were great as well.

Cobblestone Creek(Cobblestone Creek Dr.,Norman;405/872-2582):
brookeh67: (A+) "Everything about Cobblestone was PERFECT. The facility is beautiful and tastefully decorated. The Outdoor setting is great. Kelly Long was Fantastic to work with! All calls were returned promptly and questions were answered quickly. When we arrived at the Clubhouse at 10:00 the morning of the wedding, we were pleased to find that all of the tables had been set up in their proper places, couches had been moved, etc. All we had to do was put out our centerpieces and decorations.”

Cole's Garden
Kimnrog: (A+++) "The coordinators were there and very helpful as well as patient because some people in our wedding party didn't exactly show up on time (for the rehersal).”

The Dresser Mansion
SarahJanelle: (A+) "The Dresser was our first wedding related decision, and by far one of the best. We knew instantly that it was the perfect setting for us. It is absolutely gorgeous, and our guests truly enjoyed the atmosphere as well. We were able to have our ceremony outside, and had the reception both inside and outside. With just at 200 guests, we were a little nervous that it would be too crowded, but it was perfect. Charlie was excellent to work with, as was Christi (though unfortunately she’s no longer there.) The grounds were beautiful, and Charlie made every effort to accommodate any unexpected needs & requests."

First Baptist Church (Altus, OK)
Dallaschirogirl: (A) "They were very helpful in opening the church whenever we wanted to decorate. The were very easy to work with as far as scheduling changes."

First Baptist Church (Downtown Tulsa)
KJM2006: (A+) "When we are looking for a church downtown, we viewed FBC and were excited about the location to the reception site. It was scheduled for renovation with updates to the blue carpet and had no center aisle. The renovation was planned to be completed the April before the wedding. So we went head and booked our wedding with the faith of the remodeling to be completed and not knowing what the outcome would be. In April it was completed as scheduled and met and exceeded my expectations. Taupe carpet, center aisle and dark mahogany wood work. I was so excited to be marrying there. It was gorgeous. They were so easy to work with and the coordinator Ashley Lewis was so nice and did a great job."

First Christian Church of Norman (220 S Webster Ave, Norman; 405/329-2192 )
Carorob: (A+++) "I cannot say enough good things about this church. What a wonderful place of worship. Rev. David Spain was our officiant and he is an amazing man. We loved our premarital counseling sessions with him. The church wedding coordinator, Jodi, worked perfectly with Cathy and things went perfect. It was very important to Rob and I that we get married in Norman and even thought First Christian was not the church either of us grew up in we really felt like home getting married there.”

First Southern Baptist Church of Del City
jaysougirl: (A+++) "They were wonderful to work with. It was so nice having everything there. The candleabras were beautiful and they even sat everything up for us. It was also nice having a wedding corrdinator for that day. Her name is Christy Thompson and she was so very helpful. The church is beautiful and everyone was so helpful.”

First Unitarian Church of OKC
tracieou: (A-) "Good to work with, but I wish there was someone there to help us, or at least to open up the doors & lock up (one of the groomsmen had to go to the church go let in the florist & my fiance had to lock the church doors after we were done w/ pics before the reception, & that just seemed weird).”

Fort Sill Polo Club
MrsAmazon: (B+) "We rented the Polo Club, which is operated via the Patriot’s Club on Fort Sill, for two days. It served as our ceremony and reception site, which was wonderful for set-up! The Polo Club was the perfect building to host our event; but we did have a few complaints. We didn’t realize until the day of the wedding that the refrigerators didn’t work; the air conditioning was fine if you didn*t move around…at all; and the stove we used to heat up our mini quiches nearly smoked everyone out of the kitchen with burning grease. Luckily, it dissipated by the time we welcomed guests in. It made for a few entertaining challenges!”

The Greens
arbw: (B) "I love the look at The Greens. It was exactly what I was going for. The food was good, but it wasn't exactly what I asked for. Carolyn was really stressed at our wedding. She did, however, have the common sense to get lost when she wasn't needed.”

Me&Brandon: (A+) "I didn't worry about a thing they were awesome!"

The Harn Homestead
jeshawk: “This is a beautiful place to have a wedding, and you get the whole place all day for about a grand. What a deal! Note that the bad, outdated website doesn't really do it justice. The management is a little inexplicably snooty about the "historical" nature of the property (let's get real, it's not the Eiffel Tower or anything), but it's still a deal and a half. The barn (for the reception - ceremony is usually outside here) is amazingly charming at night, partially due to the lighting, and looks amazing in photos. Don't make the mistake I did and get a shabby tent from Bill Veazey's rather than just using the truly lovely barn (at least in the evening, it is lovely). Also, the Harn lets you do whatever you want for catering and food (within reason). We got off so cheaply in this regard, and had amazing food and an open bar with bartenders. Fantastic!”

OKC First Church of the Nazarene: Aggieabbie: (A+) "Maria, the wedding coordinator couldn't have been more helpful. She worked so well with everyone! The inside of the church is stone and it has several big stained glass windows. It was beautiful!”

Putnam City United Methodist Church (5819 NW 41st St OKC; 405/491-1304)
RachieSLP: (A) "Very easy to work with! My grandmother is a member, but I did notice that they have prices available for non-members if anyone is interested. We had a little bit of an issue early on with whether or not they had our date reserved, but it all worked out. It is a beautiful church!"

Regatta Park
Lyd07: (A) "Regatta Park turned out to be an ideal location for us! The only bad thing about Regatta Park right now is that they’re doing construction near by so there’s a huge mountain of soil across the river!! However, we got creative and rotated the axis of the pavilion so that everyone was facing the Boathouse. Even though it was June 24th and above 90 degrees, most people were in the shade and there was a nice breeze. FYI Regatta Park is just east of the Chesapeake Boathouse on the Oklahoma River, Downtown."

Santa Fe Depot in Norman
AlysonGail: (A+) "I truly can't say enough good things about the staff at the Depot. They were very helpful throughout the planning process, and they let us store our rentals there several days before the wedding. Although you do have to do all the decorating and whatnot yourself if you use the Depot, they are SO easygoing about everything. You can truly do almost whatever you want. And you can't beat the price - it's only $50 an hour. We got so many compliments on our choice of location... Everyone thought it was so unique and perfect for us. And best of all, at the end of the evening of the wedding, Nancy at the Depot was waiting there with our deposit checks in hand. They never even cashed them. It was awesome!"

St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Norman
sadean: (A++) "I really had a great experience with everyone at St. Joseph’s. The deacon, the ceremony coordinator, and the musician were all great to work with.”

Pinkpumps: (B+) "The church is absolutely amazing and we had a wonderful time working with all of the staff in planning and preparing for our big day. We did have some trouble the week of the wedding when the church decided to go ahead and begin an expansive renovation of the interior a little bit early. My mother and I stopped by three days before the wedding to discover scaffolding, painting, and a wall missing from the entry of the church! Although we never received an apology or an explanation for the construction, they did (after we insisted!) build a temporary wall and thoroughly clean the church before the ceremony. Regardless of the last minute stress, I am very glad that we were married at St. Joseph's.”

St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Norman
Kimminick: (A++++) "The church is a site to behold. No decorations needed. We had one floral arrangement in front of the ambo (better known as the pulpit).”

dansbridetobe: (B) " While the ceremony was gorgeous, we had some issues with the Priest and Deacon causing some unnecessary stress. This is our home parish, where we met, and we are active members of the church, but the Priest, after knowing about our wedding for 11 months, scheduled something for right after the ceremony, and said we would have to skip our fake getaway because we'd have to take the photos with him right away.. he couldn't wait 15 minutes. Everything ended up working out, but it caused some VERY unnecessary stress. Plus, the Deacon was snippy with my dad when my dad tried to clear something up. the parents didn't know if they should stay in the Sanctuary or not and the Deacon could never give him an answer.

Thunderbird Chapel
Ktnbobby: (A+) "They went above and beyond with everything. The owners and staff are amazing, and the entire venue is absolutly gorgeous."

Trinity Episcopal
whatsinaname?: (A-) "The minus here is only because it's a bit pricey for a non-member but the Organist is the reason I went there (my old voice teacher) and he was amazing and then everyone else there really made us feel like a part of the family. we drove in multiple weekends for counseling with the priest and were best buddies by the end, even my hubby who is somewhat anticosial--loved this guy--plus we could talk politics--the coolest priest ever! that church is wonderful--really has the gothic look which added a real presence to our ceremony--it was very personal--plus people were able to take communion with us, which was really neat. It was a good mixture of my methodist and luke's catholic background.”

Tulsa Garden Center
Tulsaokbride: “This was a really beautiful place to have a wedding (and reception). I thought it was a bit pricey though, but since there's not a lot like it in the city, I guess they have no competition! We had the ceremony outdoors on the veranda and the reception inside. We rented the "ballroom" in addition to the main house b/c it's really the only place large enough for dancing (even though the room itself is a rather uninspiring 50's(?) addition!). The TGC also charges an extra $500 if you want to hold your ceremony there, even though this is something that would happen within your 6 hr. contract period. So basically you're paying $500 extra for people to move some chairs around. A bit much if you ask me. But all in all, it was really great and served as a nice background for our photos. And Sharon Ryan, the events cooridinator, was really good to work with (especially since I was planning everything from Seattle!).”

Walnut Creek Chapel
ChioCutie: (B+) "I was less than thrilled with WCC through the majority of our planning. I initially chose them as a venue because of the lack of planning that would be needed on my part. Because they have packages, which include cakes, dj, photographer, officiant, pre-marital counseling, etc. it made planning less stressful. I only ended up using their dj and cake lady. If you decide you don’t want to use something offered in their package, they will reimburse you for it, with the exception of the officiant and pianist. My biggest complaint with WCC was that I didn’t feel that I had as much say over things as I had expected. In the end, everything turned out perfectly, but they seemed annoyed or confused if I brought up doing things any differently than they were used to. The staff is extremely helpful and very kind. We also did our pre-marital counseling through WCC and while we enjoyed it, it wasn’t as in depth as we were hoping it would be. Now that all is said and done, I’m very glad that I chose WCC as my venue. The chapel and reception hall are gorgeous, having them decorate takes a huge weight off, they stayed in touch with my vendors about when and where to be, and everything went very smoothly. There were stressful moments, but I think compared to most brides who have to do so much more themselves, it was definitely worth it."

KurtsQT: May 2005 - March 2006 (the planning process): C+ "Okay, although the staff here is very helpful there were several things that they made mistakes on. 1. Told us we could have hard liquor, only to find out later that we could not. 2. Told us that we could use our own licensed bartender, then told us that we couldn't. 3. Failed to notify us that caterer must prepare food in licensed kitchen and almost did not allow us to use our caterer. This ended up working out okay but caused me a lot of unnecessary stress and I almost considered moving the wedding to a different venue and state! I understand the importance of licenses, but they failed to disclose this in writing anywhere or verbally for that matter.
Rehearsal, 04/07/06: (B-) "Very unorganized. Had to ask me the names of the parents and grandparents even though I had went through this with them at our meetings. And they still did not seem to grasp who was who. They were rude to my family and asked whose kid is this (referring to my 2 1/2 year old daughter) in a derogatory way since she was not paying attention that well, but hell she is only 2 1/2 years old and I had told them before that she is my daughter.
Pre-Ceremony: (D) "They completely stressed me out prior to the wedding. Pictures were supposed to have been taken of the us (bride and bride's family) prior to the wedding and we could not seem to take them when we wanted because my photographer (Lan) had to make sure the groom and groomsmen were out of the way so Kurt would not see me. This was not his job, and he had to do this several times. The chapel should have been responsible for this but they were too busy asking me stupid questions to take care of it. The were asking me about the music and rose petals on the aisle when we had already discussed all of this before (and they still got it wrong) They yelled at my sister (who is 12) and my husband's sister (who is 11) because the flowergirl lost her tiara and they went to look for it and they yelled at them on another occasion, but I cannot remember for what.
Ceremony: (C) "Had me waiting for my music to advance (although I did not want it advanced) and the back half of the chapel could see me standing there. The actual ceremony was beautiful but that was because I was standing by the love of my life. The preacher pushed my photographer Taira out of the way of taking pictures of me as I had asked and instructed her to do. Then directly after the ceremony he approached her, yelled at her for doing her job. BTW I had no complaints from anyone of the photographers being in the way. My family loved that the photographers took so many pictures and felt they really put forth a lot effort.
One of the coordinators offended my grandmother by saying my dress was still too long after bustling it up. My grandmother worked very hard on the bustle and did it the only way possible while not altering the look of the dress.
Post Ceremony: (B) "Everything was gorgeous. Here are the couple of things that went wrong. They played our slideshow during our first dance rather than after our first dance, so we were dancing and trying to watch our slideshow at the same time. Bartender told my grandpa we were out of wine and we had 9 bottles leftover ? Did not set out the coloring books our crayons that we had put together.

"It truly is a beautiful place to get married. I just wish that different people owned it. I also wanted to say the Linda (one of the reception coordinators up there) is fantastic. She is extremely nice, not snobby and a pleasure to work with. Also, I want everyone to know, that I am proud of my photographers and the hard work that they did for me. They are great people who will bend over backwards to make you happy. It is unfortunate that some of the things happened as they did Saturday night, but they were just doing their job, and doing as I instructed since I was paying them, not WCC. Also Lan, Taira & Jon all handled it in a very professional manner, so that I did not even notice (most of it anyway) If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask"

erica_osu2001: (A+) "Walnut Creek was great to work with. There were a couple of hickups in the planning stages (VERY MINOR), but the wedding was absolutely beautiful. Linda set up everthing in the reception hall exactly as I had asked. Despite the Pastor Gene comments here before, he did a wonderful job as our officiant, no complaints here. As for the photography situation, be sure your photographer talks with the chapel about ground rules and you will be fine. One note: If you use the valet parking there, talk to the chapel about having the valets wear special uniforms. Our valets were wearing regular street clothes."

OKCBRIDEINCA: (A+) "I was very happy with my experience with Walnut Creek. Planning a wedding from out-of-state is hard enough so WCC made things very easy. During the reception, I really appreciated how they moved things along and told me what was coming up next. That night is totally crazy and they really guide you along the way. Everyone there is very accommodating and the staff is great. They will do whatever you want them to do because they want you to be happy. It was definitely a stress-free experience and the chapel and reception hall are beautiful. I had zero problems with them. www.walnutcreekchapel.com"

CEREMONY MUSICIANS

Greg Lynch Strings
Tulsaokbride: “From what I remember (I was a big distracted at the time!) they did a great job. They showed up on time, didn't need to be directed and played beautifully. (We had determined a playlist beforehand). This was a bit pricey ($400-$500) I think...but it really set the tone.”

Jill Justice
OKCBrideInCA: (A+) Jill sounded awesome. Adding the harp really made a difference in the ceremony. She rehearsed with my aunt prior to the ceremony and the solo of Ave Maria was beautiful. She was really easy to work with and she can play almost anything imaginable.

Jill Justice and Joe McClung
Carorob: (A+++++) "Rob and my mom both wanted a harpist at the wedding. Cathy mentioned a bag pipe. I though “you’ve got to be kidding me” but then I heard them. Jill Justice played the harp and her husband Joe McClung. Played the bagpipe. Our guests are still talking about it!”

Jill Justice (harp), Joel McClung (bagpipe) and Heather Portwood (soloist)
SoonerBride06: (A+) "They can be a package deal, as Jill and Joel are married. Our music was amazing and people are still talking about the wonderful combination of the harp and bagpipe. Heather has an incredible voice, her first solo almost brought me to tears it was so moving. I highly recommend this trio. They are very easy to work with and have a great reputation."

Marshall and Melissa Helsel
Christmastime: (A+) "Marshall and Melissa are a husband/wife guitar/harp duo. They were the perfect touch to our elegant reception! Plus, Marshall was kind enough to sing for our first dance (he only sings on request)! Melissa is also very easy to communicate with over both phone and email, and patient and helpful enough to work with a very indecisive bride!”

Metro Strings (Sarah Wilhite)
Lyd07: (A) "I never actually met Sarah. She was recommended from a professor and we only had correspondence via email. She was very easy to work with, professional, and they sounded beautiful! I’m not sure who the other musicians were, but they were very good. Contact me if you’d like Sarah’s number."

Mid America String Quartet
aggieabbie: (A+) "So easy to work with! They played at our wedding and reception and did an great job! We had so many comments about how great they were.”

OK Strings
Sonnerbride: (A) "I didn't get to hear much of them and when they were playing I was focused on other things, but I hear they were wonderful and were very easy to book and super easy to get in touch with.”

RachieSLP: (A+) "I talked with Joseph on the phone several times. I had an atypical song request that he was able to accommodate. He also mentioned that if they don’t have the music for a song, he has a contact that with arrange the music for a quartet for $50. I never met or spoke with him in person… even the day of the wedding. They were very professional, and the music sounded wonderful! I definitely recommend them."

COORDINATORS AND WEDDING PLANNERS

Cathy Johnson Weddings:
sadean: (A++++) "I hired Cathy to be the coordinator at the reception only since our church had their own coordinator. Every time I met with her she was extremely helpful and the reception flowed just how I wanted it. She was there when all of the vendors were setting up the reception and she kept us on track with our timeline during the reception.”

Carorob: “Cathy Johnson was by far the best money we spent on the entire wedding. She is a jewel. When I first started planning the wedding I was living in Dallas and my parents live in Canada so Cathy came in extremely handy when it came to choosing vendors. Some of our wedding pictures are posted on her webpage www.cathyjohnsonweddings.com”

jeshawk: “Cathy is amazingly organized and helpful, and always pleasant to work with. She is also very reasonably priced. She even put up with my unconventional approach to how to do things. But really, I couldn't have done it without her. Highly recommend!!!”

RachieSLP: A+: "Brenda Owens (with Cathy Johnson weddings) was amazing!! I did not have to worry about a thing on our wedding day! It was so nice to be able to truly enjoy the day, and she made that possible. As other brides have said previously, a “day of” coordinator is the BEST investment that you can make, and I absolutely agree. If you would like Brenda’s info… page me on the OKC board.

SoonerBride06: A+ "Cathy is experienced and so sweet. She is a pleasure to work with and is so knowledgable about traditions, ceremonies and reception order, etc. She made a lot of suggestions that we incorporated into our day. She gives you a great piece of mind and is probably the best investment we made for our wedding."

AvivaBridal on eBay: AlysonGail: (A+) "My crinoline was an A-line hoop type, and it was a great price. It looked amazing under my dress, and was very slimming. Oh, and the shipping was fast."

ENTERTAINMENT (BANDS and DJ SERVICES)

The A Team
MegLG: (A+) "We had a jazz/big band at our reception who were great. The dance floor was packed, they played everything I asked, in the order I asked them. Nothing else to say, really, but I do suggest them and would def. use them again."

Admiral Twin
Tulsaokbride: “I have known this band for a while and they're truly great guys. They were totally responsible and played a great selection of music. We had loaded up an ipod with a wedding playlist that we played between the band's sets.”

All Night DJs (Daniel)
Ktnbobby:ktnbobby: (A) When my original DJ cancelled 5 days before the wedding Daniel cancelled all of his plans so he could DJ our wedding last minute. He did a great job! Very professional.

Brent from Black Tie DJ
kjepp (B-) "We had a hard time reaching him before the wedding, but when we finally met he was very professional. Their computer crashed as the reception began, but Brent used a backup system and had music going by the time we arrived. After that he did a good job of keeping us on schedule by communicating with me or family throughout the evening."

Brian Bene
kimnrog: “(A-): He is a good friend of ours. He did an amazing job that night and because he knew us so well, he pretty much knew exactly what we wanted to hear.”

Brian Smith with Chameleon Entertainment
dansbridetobe: (A) "The music he played was GREAT. Everyone had a blast. He did mess up on a couple of things which made us a little less than happy, but if you want details, page me on the Oklahoma board."

Lyd07: (A+++) What can I say…Brian is PERFECT!! He played all of our requests, had great timing, has no obnoxious qualities, is great at reading the crowd and has great ideas. The best DJ ever!!

Chameleon Entertainment
Me&Brandon: (A+) "They were great easy to work with and my guests had a blast!"

Chris Hale with Dance Party Productions
SoonerBride06: (A+) "Chris and his company are top notch and did a great job. Chris served as the DJ for our reception and worked great with Cathy to coordinate the evening's events. He is enthuiastic and a joy to work with."

Chris Cox (A Walnut Creek vendor)
erica_osu2001: "(A+): A+++++ - AMAZING! He played all the songs we asked, went out of his way to find the OSU medley song from the athletic department that we wanted for our intro, and got EVERYONE out on the dance floor. I couldn't have been happier. Lots of people told us the reception was a blast!"

OKCBRIDEINCA: (A+) "I was very happy with Chris. He followed our outline perfectly and even had some great ideas along the way. He kept the party going all night and we had people up dancing the entire time. Anytime he had an idea, he would always run it by us first which I really respected. I would definitely recommend him."

Dave and the Wavetones
Carorob: “They were a smash. I was very nervous about the band, but they proved me wrong. Everyone was on the dance floor all night long! I hope I get to go to a wedding where they are at and hear them again. They were worth every penny.”

DJ Connections
KJM2006: (A+) "If there was a higher ranking than an A+ then they deserve it. DJ Josh Smith was so awesome that I can’t say enough about him. He was so easy to work with and fun and very professional. We let Josh just run the show and it went so smoothly and all the guests had a lot of fun. At the end of the night, Josh gave us a burned CD of our list of songs. I highly recommend them."

Kenneth Wohl
Sonnerbride: (B) "I hate to give them this score becuase Kenneth is a friend, but the kid who was doing our reception wasn't as involved as I would have liked and we keep having to tell him what to do. Besides that Kenneth is amazing and resonably priced. He has tons of music, equipment, and whatever else you need. Just make sure he sends someone a little more outgoing. If Kenneth would have been the DJ it would be an A+.”

RachieSLP: (A+) "Kenneth was great! I was a little hesitant because I had read a less than perfect review involving another one of his DJs, so I requested Kenneth to be the DJ at our wedding. He was very organized, he played the music just as I had requested it, he kept the party going, and he kept things flowing well (working closely with Brenda). If he was unsure about something, he always asked me how I wanted it done… which I appreciated. "

Larry Hammet Band (booked through Box Talent)
tracieou: (A) "I thought they were really good. Some of the people my age complained that there wasn’t enough dancing music, but I had told them I didn’t think people would really want to dance much, so that’s my own fault. I got lots of compliments on them though, and it was pretty background music.”

M&M Productions:
brookeh67: (A) "Everything with M& M Productions was great. The DJ did a good job of getting people out on the dance floor (despite the non-dancing crowd we had). He also did a good job of sticking to our music preferences and making sure things ran on time (cake cutting, first dance, etc.) The only complaint I had was that we also rented an outdoor system for our ceremony music, etc. and this was supposed to include a lapel mic for the minister. When we got it all set up (which we did ourselves because the DJ had another event and couldn’t be there so early) we didn’t have a mic so there was a problem with people in the back not being able to hear the minister. Other than that, they were great.”

MrsMuelly: (A) "The planning was extensive - interview with a coordinator to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I got to pick the music that could or couldn't be played and the order of events. The DJ was professional and kept the party going. He entertained all of the age groups.”

Magic Music Systems DJ (405/691-2771)
Sunnflower03: (A) "They did a wonderful job. They were very tasteful!!!”

Millenium Entertainment
SarahJanelle: (B) "They were great to work with up until the day of the wedding, but then we ran into a few problems. I had a detailed minute-by-minute timeline of what would happen when, and what music to play for it, and he still had to be prompted some of the time, almost as though he wasn't really paying attention. I'd even burnt him a CD of all the songs we were using, even though they were fairly common, but that way he had them all in one spot, in order, and ready to go. It was okay most of the time, but a couple other things he did that I didn't care for: 1.) I went and asked him to play a certain song and he said he'd already decided what would be played next. Not a huge deal, but it was my wedding and I was paying him, so a simple "I'll play it in a few songs" would've been fine. 2.) A guest asked him to play "Staying Alive" by the BeeGees and he said he didn't have it...seriously? I thought every DJ had that! 3.) For the last dance, he played some random song I'd never heard before opposed to my Norah Jones request. Again, these things are not the end of the world and it was still a great time, but they were things that stood out to me.

Ronnie Kaye DJ
Sunnflower03: (F) "What can I say he called me 14 days before they wedding and canceled!!!! BEWARE!!”

Pinkpumps: (C) "Oh, Ronnie Kay. Ronnie Kay is the DJ for KOMA and somewhat of a local legend. As an avid KOMA listener, I was adamant that he would be the DJ at my wedding. We booked him, I submitted the details of our reception to him in a contract, and we discussed everything the day before the wedding. Somehow, several things went wrong. After he introduced us, he tried to start a receiving line, which was something that we had never discussed and definitely did not want to do. He played an unedited, not radio-safe version of a new song later in the evening which was quite interesting to say the least. And.. the hokey pokey. Yes, I said it. Ronnie Kay caused me several moments of stress during an otherwise perfect reception. He's wonderful, but expect some quirkiness and some bumps in the road.”

Todd Barron (OKC, OK)
Dallaschirogirl: (A+) "I knew that with our families, conversation was going to be more important, so I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a DJ, which I am glad I didn’t now, because I was the only one dancing ?. Todd played excellent music and I had a blast dancing with the kids, but everyone else was content with visiting. He played all the music I had requested and made sure announcements were made when we were doing the cake, first dance, etc."

DJ Terry Schwartz (Dallas, TX)
AlysonGail: (A+) This guy is AMAZING. He got my baptist family to DANCE! Everyone was dancing, and for hours! He made everything so much fun, and his rates are really reasonable. I'm so glad we picked him!"

FLOWERS

Albertson's
jaysougirl: (F) "I guess to add to the flower drama the roses that I ordered at Albertson's 3 months ago did not come in. I talked to the florist manager there several times and she assured me that there would be 6 dozen pink roses for the wedding. When I go to pick them up, there is only 2 dozen. Needless to say this was my breaking point. However, everything still worked out in the end.”

Randomtulsagirl: (B) "The flowers looked beautiful when we picked them up. We ordered my bouquet, my MOH and BM bouquets, our bouts and corsages and three dozen red roses for the center pieces. Only problem was that the bouquets, bouts, and corsages seemed to start wilting pretty fast. They were great throughout the ceremony, but about half-way through the reception I noticed some of them were turning at the edges of the roses – The three dozen roses for the centerpieces held up really well, I’ve got some in my house now that still look beautiful.”

Bloom Event Design Services
Sunnflower03: (A+) "Absolutely AMAZING!!! Everything was exactly what I had expected and more!”

Buy For Less (NW Expressway at Lake Hefner Pkwy)
dansbridetobe: (A) "The flowers were beautiful."

Designs by Tammy
RachieSLP: (A) "Tammy was so sweet and easy to work with. She looked at all of my pictures, and we talked about what I wanted. I was VERY pleased with the finished product. The only reason I don’t give her a “+” is because the bouquets were supposed to be wrapped so that some stem remained for us to put them in vases on the head table. They ended up being covered completely, but it wasn’t really a big deal. I would definitely recommend her.

Earl's Florist in Norman:
sadean: (A++++) "The flowers were my favorite part of the whole wedding. They turned out absolutely beautiful. I used roses, spray roses, hydrangea, sweet peas, stephanotis, stock, lisianthus, tulips, and orchids in soft pinks and cream colors to match the inside of the church. I worked with Janet and told her I wanted soft and romantic flowers and they were everything I could have imagined.”

Pinkpumps: (A++++++++) "I. Loved. My. Flowers. I worked with Janna at Earl's. I took her a few pictures of other flowers I liked, told her I wanted pink flowers to compliment my pink and chocolate scheme, and let her work her magic. I truly hope the pictures do them justice, because my flowers were breathtaking. Blake actually mourned the loss of his amazing corsage. Janna and Earl's are beyond comparison.”

www.theflowerexchange.com
tracieou: (A) "We did our own centerpieces & got roses, hydrangeas, stock, lisianthus & pitsporum from this online grower. The flowers were beautiful & came on time. Only complaint is that some of the boxes got mushed (more a problem w/ UPS I guess) but the flowers perked up after a day drinking water.”

Flowers by Girlfriends
(202 N Kansas Ave, Liberal, KS; 620/624-1649)
ChioCutie: (A+) "Natalie Skelton is a sorority sister of mine and has been working in the flower business for a few years. Flowers were one detail that I was pretty indifferent about. I don’t know much about flowers and really didn’t know what I wanted. Natalie did my bouquet for my bridal portraits, the wedding, the BM’s bouquets (tulips), the corsages, small corsages for my sorority sisters, the pew bouquets, arrangements for the chapel, arrangements for the food table and a few others through the reception hall. I absolutely loved my flowers. They were one of my favorite things about the wedding. Natalie was able to take the few things I knew that I wanted and some of the things I had used to describe the feel I wanted and turn them into gorgeous arrangements and bouquets. My pew bouquets were amazing as well as my bouquet and my BMs’ bouquets. For someone who doesn’t like flowers, I was amazed at how beautiful they were. I was able to do flowers for really cheap because I didn’t have any flowers on my reception tables, but Natalie was very reasonably priced. She does several weddings in OKC, so her location isn’t an issue. I would definitely recommend Natalie because she’s young, fun, full of ideas and very easy to work with.

Flowers by Pat
erica_osu2001: (A) "The flowers were beautiful! Alisonn was great to work with. I knew I really wanted Calla lilies. We incorporated them into everything, but since they are pricey, Alisonn helped me pick other flowers to mix with them to cut costs. My only complaint was that my cake flowers weren't really what I pictured, but it was still pretty."

OkcBrideIncA: (C+) "I wasn't very happy when I first saw my flowers. They turned out okay in the pictures but they were nothing like I wanted them. I really stressed to them that I wanted dark pink, not hot pink. But when I saw them, some of the flowers were of course, hot pink. The types of flowers were fine, but the color is what I wasn’t happy with. My mom thought they were fine but they really didn’t look like any of the pictures that I had given to them. But they were fresh and they looked great throughout our ceremony and reception. If you’re doing a simple bouquet, you should probably be fine with them."

The French Tulip
Carorob: (A) "I finally figured out flowers are just expensive unless you do them yourself. They did put “rice lights” in my bouquet (I saw it in Bridget Jones 2) The only arrangement they did was the Unity Candle which was beautiful.

tracieou: (B+) "The flowers that they brought all looked good, but they put the wrong flower for the dad’s bout’s and didn’t bring any flowers for the flower girls to toss (we ended up having to rip hot pink petals off flowers from the breakfast we threw that morning). If there was anything else, I didn’t notice it. They also took weeks (if not months) to get back to me any time I had a question or needed to make a change.”

Freshroses.com
MrsAmazon (A+) "I heard of this vendor from the message boards and took a leap of faith based on the recommendations of other Knotties. We were definitely not disappointed. I ordered their sample bunch of each rose they offer and chose our flowers from that. The entire transaction went so smoothly, and their customer service was superb. Most importantly, the flowers were GORGEOUS. We used Black Magic Roses for our reception centerpieces and Sahara roses for the bouts, corsages, and ceremony petals. FYI: the Sahara roses were peach when held against white flowers; when used alone, they looked more like a cream color – not to mention, they were incredibly fragrant.

KurtsQT: (A+) "I decided to DIY my centerpieces. I spent $209 dollars for 175 pink sweet akito roses. I was going to use two dozen roses for each centerpiece, but 18 ended up being the perfect amount, so I actually had plenty left over. The flowers were gorgeous, cheap and they arrived on time. If anyone wants any information on making your own centerpieces with roses, page me... way easier than I thought it would be."

Grave’s Floral (Shawnee)
Kimminick: (A+++++) "Another family friend. Pam & Bob are the owners. They made all of our flowers exactly how I wanted & even delivered them to Norman (no charge – probably since they are good friends). My bouquet was the best (of course)!!”

Grower’s Box.com
ChioCutie: (A+) "I ordered these petals about 5 days before the wedding. They arrived on Friday (my wedding was on Sunday) and they held up great for the wedding. I ordered 3,000 petals and it was enough for 18 reception tables, cake table, and another picture table. The petals came in three bags and I just turned our refrigerator up (warmer) a little big and put them in the fridge until the wedding. I got the light pink petals and they were gorgeous."

Growingtulips.com
AlysonGail: (A+) "I was nervous about my tulips coming all the way from the Netherlands, but it turned out wonderfully. The flowers were beautiful and were sturdy, and they looked amazing in the arrangements we made. Plus, Growing Tulips emails you a tracking number when the flowers are shipped. That eased my mind. An awesome vendor."

Jessica Barron (OKC)
Dallaschirogirl: (A++++++) "There are not enough words to describe how beautiful everything was. This was what I was most stressed about and Jessica made everything perfect. She always asked my opinion of everything and created beautiful decorations on the spot."

K&K Nursery (17550 S. Sooner Rd, Norman; 405/447-3100)
sadean: “Flowers at the Reception: (A) "Besides the cake flowers, the flowers at the reception were all miniature rose bushes that I bought at K&K. We took terracotta pots and painted them an antique white color and then painted our monogram and the date on each one. We potted the mini roses and placed one on each table and some lining the walkways outside of the reception site. I had little envelopes in each one that said “Take Me” and rose care instructions inside. They ended up being very nice and very affordable centerpieces (about $8 each).”

Mary Murray's
Tulsaokbride: “Honestly, I thought this florist was totally going to flake out on us. I had a hard time getting in touch with her pre-wedding (again...a frustration of being 2000 miles away!). She was supposed to send me mock-ups of arrangements so I could get some idea of what the flowers would look like, but for some reason she couldn't send them to me. I ended up making an emergency stop there a few days before the wedding and felt a little better, though still not sure what exactly I was paying for. HOWEVER...on the day of, when they brought the flowers, they were fabulous! I'm a really picky person and they were exactly what I wanted! She really came through (we worked with Nicki). Of course, I'll always think flowers are expensive no matter what, but I was really happy with these.”

Mistletoe Florist
(33 N Broadway Cir, OKC; 405/235-0461):
MrsMuelly: (A) "They are actually a wholesaler, but will arrange flowers too. I did not have a lot of flowers - Callas for my bouquet, the bouts, and corsages and hydrangea for the bridesmaids. I knew exactly what I wanted and they made it happen. My bouquet was perfect. A note to those considering hydrangea - it will wilt if you don't keep it in water but it worked perfectly for us for the ceremony. I would suggest not having the leaves with the hydrangea if anyone is choosing flowers since the leaves wilting is very noticeable.”

KurtsQT: (B-) "Everything was fine here until I received the flowers the day of the wedding. The mini calla lilies for the men had brown spots on them. All of the womens flowers were sweet akito roses (including my bouquet) and they were are closed really tight. They were not open at all and I had specifically said I like my roses to be open some and even showed pictures."

New Leaf Floral
SoonerBride06: (A+) "What can I say, New Leaf is the best in OKC. They are a bit higher than other florists but you get what you pay for. My bouquets were amazing and the church was beautiful. New Leaf decorated the reception venue as well and it was amazing."

MegLG: (A+) "Perfect. I got so many compliments on my centerpieces. They are so creative and made it "the best reception I have ever been too," which is what I heard over and over again. A little on the pricey side, but worth every penny! Mark, the owner, is great, as is the other guy (the creative one), so you are in great hands there!"

Pacific Callas.com
AlysonGail: (D-) "Ugh! I had SO much trouble with Pacific Callas! We received our shipment of calla lilies from them on the Thursday before the wedding, and we had ordered 50 cream and 80 lavender callas... And we got 50 white with pink spots, and 80 really dark purple (almost black). :( It even said on the bags the names of different calla varieties than what we had ordered. Not to mention that the flowers were INCREDIBLY small and of very thin and poor quality. We were so disappointed! So needless to say, we called customer service to let them know that a) we had received the wrong color flowers, and that b) the flowers were tiny! We had spent $404 on 130 flowers, and seriously, the flowers wouldn't have even made my bouquet and the 3 bridesmaids bouquets!!! Not even close. What amazed me the most about this experience is that even though their website states that they have a guarantee for "color range, stem length," etc., they fought me tooth and nail when I tried to get them to fix their mistake. I sent them pictures I took with my digital camera of the flowers and of the bags with the names of the incorrect colors written right on them, and they tried to tell me there was no mistake. I'm not kidding, I probably spent an hour on the phone with the people repeating to them over and over again that I chose their company for their guarantee policy, and they kept telling me there was nothing they could do about it. They were so rude, they even made us box up the flowers from Thursday and ship them back. I didn't care, they were useless to me, but it was like they were absolutely not going to give us one flower more than they could charge us for, like WE were the ones who made the mistake. And they told us we'd have to wait at our house for DHL to show up or else they wouldn't ship us the correct flowers, so we lost half a day of productivity on Thursday. Finally, after threatening to report them to the BBB, they shipped us 130 more flowers that were actually what we ordered from a different farm, which arrived on Friday. They were in much better condition and we were happy. But on Friday, they had the audacity to call us and tell us that there was nothing wrong with the flowers we sent back! I quote their customer service rep, Peter, "You could have made due with the first batch. You could have used them." Um, I'm sorry, but you guys tried to send us flowers that weren't what we ordered, and I can prove it. I went OFF on him. Overall, I'd never use Pacific Callas again. The flowers we received on Friday were beautiful, but man oh man is the customer service awful and rude."

Pam Trotter Designs (bankrupt circa 2006)
jaysougirl: (F) "I gave Pam Trotter a F because half of my boquet was dead when they got to the church. There were seriously brown!! Thankfully we were able to get another beautiful boquet in time. I have only heard great things about her and she was very nice to work with in the pre-wedding stages, but the flowers were NOT good!!”

arbw: (A+++++) "She did exactly what I wanted and the flowers looked even better than I imagined. I wasn't big on my MIL's flowers or the BM's flowers, but that is because DH requested that a few pink flowers be put in their bouquets. Our huppah was amazing! And my bouquet was perfect. It looked great for at least a week.”

Christmastime: (A+) "Pam and her team are amazing! She let us change our minds a thousand times and even bring in our own decoration for her to arrange and work with! She really listened to me talk about my ideas and worked with me to make everything perfect even though I was exactly sure what I wanted; I just knew what I didn't want. And then she worked hard to clean up the church and even stored our decorations for a week until I could retrieve them after the honeymoon. And as far as the bill went, she was kind enough to itemize everything out and talk to both families very politely about what what traditionally paid for by which family and then let both families decide who paid for what. Outstanding!”

PetalGarden.com
SarahJanelle: (A+) "They offer free samples so it was perfect. Definitely recommend them….we used silk rose petals but they looked excellent."

Redbud Floral
Aggieabbie: (A++) "Lorie had a baby about 2 weeks before my wedding, but worked for about 3 days straight on the flowers and such. I honestly just left her alone and let her do her thing... I was one of those brides SHE had to call instead of the other way around. Gaillardia and the church both looked AMAZING! I didn't compare her quotes with other florists, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the bill!”

ktnbobby: (A+) “Lori is amazing. She is very enthusiastic about her job and it shows in her work. My flowers were exactly what I wanted.”

Sams
kimnrog: (C) "We'd bought the flowers the day before but it was frustrating because their delivery truck was super late.”

kjepp: "We used the florist at the North OKC Sam’s for reception flowers. We ordered a carload of white roses, which arrived on time, looked beautiful, and were cheap! We stuck the flowers in simple (half-price) vases from Hobby Lobby and were able to use them everywhere at the reception. They looked opulent but were easy and affordable."

Save-on-crafts.com
tracieou: (A) "I got all sorts of stuff from here to do the flowers, decorate, etc. They had the best prices on everything except floral foam, and everything came quickly & in the right quantities.”

Saylor & Company (Claremore; 918/261-7902)
SarahJanelle: (A+) "Our flowers turned out beautiful, and we received numerous compliments on them. Lisa is so creative and came up with exactly what I envisioned at a very reasonable price."

Stems
whatsinaname?: (A++++++) "They were great to deal with, helped me stay far below budget but made everything come together--they did the wedding flowers plus table arrangements with rented glass containers on every table (over 30) which I sourrounded with smooth stones and candles all for about $1,000. the only mistake they made was not getting my dad an Orange flower--I can understand because it dosen't match my color scheme at all, but it was a special color with me and my dad, and I was really dissapointed the day of, even cried--how pathetic, I know--but even before I know what other flowers I wanted, I put in his boutioneer order.”

MedicsBride: (A+) "The flowers were beautiful but for what we paid I expected more orcids then were in the arangements, however she was the only florist I talked to that didn't insist that I have roses even though I am allergic to them."

Trochta’ s
kjepp (A+) "They did our altar and personal flowers. Their wedding person, Paige, was my most easygoing vendor. She let me make last minute changes, incorporated flowers from my own garden, and had everything looking fabulous for the ceremony."

Uptown Marketplace(Weatherford)
brookeh67: “(A+++): Montell absolutely outdid himself on the flowers. To say they were gorgeous would not do them justice. They were EXACTLY what I wanted and he (and Laura) were there during all the set-up just helping with whatever needed to be done. Even the things that he had nothing to do with! Disclaimer- Montell is my Uncle so I may be a little biased but I think the pictures speak for themselves.”

HAIR & MAKEUP ARTISTS/SALONS

Adrianne Covington
RachieSLP: "(A+): Adrianne is my angel. I have the oiliest, shiniest, unclear skin… and she made me look like a porcelain doll! I warned my bridesmaids that the foundation may be a little bit heavier than they are used to, but they all LOVED it and thought that she was great. The makeup also made for GREAT photographs. I would definitely definitely recommend her!

SoonerBride06: (A+) "The amazing Adrianne Covington did my make-up as well as the bridal party make-up. She is a joy to work with and did an amazing job. She is reasonably priced and will make you look beautiful on your special day."

Ashley Bledsoe (Altus, OK)
Dallaschirogirl: (A+) "Ashley is like a sister to me and did a fabulous job on my makeup. She knew exactly how to make me made up but still look like me."

Balliet's Salon
(50 Penn Place OkC, 73120; 405/840 - 2741)
kjepp (A+) "I used Devon with Bobbi Brown at Balliet’s. I love the natural makeup, and she did a great job. It’s a bit pricey since you have to spend $75 on products, but at least you have something to take home and use the next day."

Bronze N Beyond - Beauty & Fitness
(5635 S Mingo Rd, Tulsa; 918/691-7603)
kimnrog: “(A+): We were able to hang out as a group and eat sushi for lunch as girls got their hair done. I was the last one to go so while I waited, I had a spray tan done. Some girls had gone before me and let me tell you, I was the only one who didnt look orange.”

Cari Weaver (owner of DV8 the Salon in Dallas)
Carorob: “(A+++++): Cari is an old friend, offered to do all of our hair for the wedding (as my wedding gift) When I told her I had seven bridesmaids she looked a little scared so I asked another friend (Ashley Pollock of Duncan Brothers at Quail Springs) to help out. All of our hair looked awesome. In case you’re wondering I had short hair, Cari put a hairpiece in so my veil had something to hang onto. I bought it at Sam Moon in Dallas for $8 bucks! Cari made it look real. I had my make-up done at Image Plus in Norman which is no long in business so I can't really say much. It looked good.”

Cassidy Nelson w/Chic Styling & Cypress Avenue Salon
KJM2006: (A+) "She was so easy to work with and I felt she did my hair and my girls hair really good. She did the exact style/look I was going for. Highly recommend her."

Christi with Salon Bliss (12211 N MacArthur Blvd, OKC; 405/721-2547)
dansbridetobe: (A) "My hair was beautiful, I got so many comments on it. It took longer than expected, though, which stressed my mom out, which in turn stressed me out."

Christina from Salon Essentials
Ktnbobby: (A+) My hair was my favorite thing about my wedding. Christina is awesome. She also did a wonderful job on my BM's hair.

Cindy Fannerin of Cut'z (300 W Gray St, Norman; 405/366-7555)
AlysonGail: "(A+): Cindy did my gal's hair and my hair on the day of, and we all looked awesome. It was great to just destress and have someone to do our hair. Plus, even though it was VERY hot and windy for our outdoor wedding, our hair pretty much stayed styled all night."

Jennifer Junkins w/About Face Studios
KJM2006: (A+) "She was so nice and great to work with. I loved my make-up for my bridal portraits and my wedding day. Highly recommend her."

Jonathon at Salon Rebel
Lyd07: (B+) "I had a LOT of hairspray in my hair!! Otherwise everyone’s hair looked great! It was a notch below my expectations though. He may have been a little rushed… Anyway, can’t complain, and Jonathan is a sweetheart!"

Lindsey Hershberger (lindsr7@hotmail.com)
OKCBrideInCA: (A+) "Our makeup looked absolutely amazing and it stayed on all night! Lindsey is very easy going and we had a lot of fun with her as she did all of our makeup. She’s from Tulsa, but she drove down to OKC for my wedding. I would highly recommend her!"

Melissa Rollins
SarahJanelle: "(A+): Melissa is from Norman, but came to Tulsa to the Dresser to get all of us ready for only the cost of gas! Of course she charged per girl for styling, but her fee to travel was so reasonable I thought. She did a great job on everyone’s hair, and was incredibly quick on getting us all ready."

MrsBong (another Knottie)
aggieabbie: “(A++): She did an awesome job on my hair! She did a trial, then my hair for bridals (she came to my place at like 7 am!), then my hair and my 3 BM's hair for the wedding. She came to the Montford where we were getting ready. I highly recommend her! :)”

Rachel with Salon Bliss
dansbridetobe (A) "This was my first ever manicure - she did a good job."

Ranai Concept Salon
whatsinaname?: “(A): hair/waxing/pre-wedding spa day: Janar, the owner, did a great job with my hair, the waxing seriously didn't hurt with their anestician's skill and the pre-wedding sppa day (though too close to the wedding and so stressful that we were wasting time being pampered) was wonderful--got the MIL/MOB talking, girls loooking pretty and chilled me out tremendously. I would recommend this to anyone.”

Studio Grande (OKC)
brookeh67: “(A+++): Christie Hargrove (and Jeff) were fantastic. The hair and makeup all looked great.”

Laurie at Schardein and Co.
RachieSLP: "(A+): Myself and all of the BMs had our hair done here (by different stylists). Laurie did mine, and I loved it! I’m not sure what else to say… if you are looking for someone, at least go in and see her for a trial.

Whatchamacallit Salon (Altus OK)
Dallaschirogirl: (A++) For 3 hours of being at a place, I never had so much fun. Janet has been cutting my hair since I was 8 years old so it was only fitting that she did my hair on my wedding day. My hair was amazing, I loved it.

HONEYMOON LOCATIONS

Fiesta Americana Grande Los Cabos
aggieabbie: (A+++) "We honeymooned here. The rooms were all marble and AMAZING. The food was great, especially the breakfast buffet, and every room has a oceanside balconey. We parasailed, snorkeled, rode jet skis, and just hung out by the pools and the beach. Oh, and we had couples massages on the beach at night. Such a great honeymoon!”

Sandal's Grande St. Lucia
jaysougirl: (A+++++++) "This place was great too!!! It even rained a couple days, but nothing could have ruined it. The food was good, probably not great, just very good. Our favorite place was the Japanese restaurant at the Regency. We also liked eating at Barefoot by the Sea with our feet in the sand and the ocean right next to us. Everyone here was so nice. The resort is very clean as well. We also scuba dived. We took the resort course from Martin, who was so cool. Neither of us had gone scuba diving before so it was a good experience and I want to do it again. The neatest part was when we found an octapus and the head diver put it on Jayson\'s head for a picture.”

St. Lucia Sandals Regency:
Carorob: “It was amazing. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown OKC on our wedding night and were up the next morning at 3AM to catch our long flight. It was well worth it. Rob surprised me and bumped us up to a luxury suite. I had never been to the West Indies and now I can’t wait to go back.”

Matangi Island in Figi:
sadean: (A+++) "When I first told Andy he could plan our honeymoon, he told me that he had always wanted to go to Branson, MO. He was kidding, but I didn’t leave it up to chance -- I did the planning myself. We ended up going to a small private island in Fiji where there were only 20 guests (including us). We went scuba diving, snorkeling, laid on the beach and ate wonderful food. I went all out and we stayed in a treehouse suite for 7 nights with an outdoor shower and Jacuzzi. We had a fabulous time! www.matangiresort.com”

San Francisco:
whatsinaname?: “perfect location, but DON't STAY AT HOTEL UNION SQUARE--they thought they were far too swanky for us and gave us a window with a view of--yup--another window 3 feet away. the room was literally 8 ft X 8ft and they charged us $39/day for parking and more if we actually took our car out of the lot. I realize parking is pricey there but with a crap room at nearly $200/night, what are we paying for but parking? ugh, luckily, we had a great time once we agreed to ignore the hotel and focus on the fact that it was our honeymoon--of course this took a few tries and a few lapses but we did have a wonderful time all and all.”

HOTELS

The Arcadian Inn, Edmond:
aggieabbie: (A) "We stayed in the Magnolia Suite on our wedding night and had a really cool bed and a great 2 person hot tub. The outside of the B&B is a little old looking, but our room was very nice. Breakfast was great!”

arbw: (A++) "Very romantic. We loved the jacuzzi for two. They brought us a table, set nicely with candles when we got carry-out the second night we were there and breakfast in the room was nice.”

Hilton Garden Inn: kimnrog: (A-) "On Meridian for a slumber party I hosted..... My parents were also staying there from OOT as well as some other relatives. It would have been better if our rooms had been on the same floor.”

The Montford: aggieabbie: (A+) "I stayed here the 2 nights before the wedding and got ready in one of the cottages there. Wow! It was a beautiful place to stay and to get ready in-- it'd be a great wedding night place too.”

Residence Inn(Norman)
Carorob: “We had guest come in from all over, even Yukon Canada! The Residence Inn in Norman took great care of everyone. They provide a great breakfast and huge rooms. Very reasonably prices. They are like little apartments. All of the girls got ready in one room, hairdressers and all!”

Renaissance and The Courtyard by Marriott in downtown OKC.
OKCBrideInCA: (A) "We had a couple of hiccups in the booking process (they turned guests away and said that our wedding block was full when it really wasn't) but otherwise we really loved both of these hotels and everything worked out fine. We had OOT boxes given to each hotel to give out to our guests and from what I know, the guests I talked to received them. The Renaissance was very accommodating and got us anything we needed to get ready for the wedding. They even brought up 3 chairs from the bar so we could use them for hair/makeup. Overall, I would definitely stay at either hotel again when visiting OKC."

Sherton Hotel:
Sonnerbride: (F-) "DO NOT USE THEM. We rented rooms at the Sheraton the night before the wedding for my bridesmaids and then that is where my honey and I stayed the night of our wedding. First they did'nt have the suite ready for the bridemaids on rehearsal day so when we were all done getting our manicures at the salon downstairs we had nowhere to go to get ready and were all late for rehearsal. Then they gave my husband and I the wrong room the night of the wedding and charged it to someone else's credit card, and we still don't know whose. The day we left for our cruise we left everything in our hotel room and let the manager know that my mother-in-law would be by the pick it up so please let her in the room. When my mother-in-law went to get the stuff the manager told her that he didn't know what she was talking about. So, my wedding dress as well as his tux and everything else we had in there sat in lost and found the entire time we were on our honeymoon. Needless to say my flowers were ruined and I was not able to have them preserved.”

KurtsQT: (C-) "I booked our room at least three months in advance and they did not have any suites available, but gave me the option to add a honeymoon package (which I did) This was supposed to include the following: later checkout time of 4:00 p.m., champagne waiting in room, breakfast in bed and complimentary cocktails. Kurt went there the day of the wedding to drop off the car and to check in and they acted like they did not ever offer us a later checkout time. They ended negotiating with to check out at 3:00. There was no champagne waiting for us, Kurt had to call down for it. There was no breakfast delivered to us so I finally called down there about 10:30 a.m. (They ended bringing us breakfast, but told us it was complimentary so we didn't have to pay for it... how nice of them considering it was part of the package that I had paid for. No cocktails were ever offered and I was too pissed off to ask for that."

Whispering Pines Bed and Breakfast: jaysougirl: (A++++) "This place was so nice!! We stayed in the Emerald Suite. It had a 2 person jacuzzie tub, king size bed, and a great breakfast the next morning. The grouds are beautiful. We went to feed the goldfish the next morning before we left. It was awesome and I can\'t wait to go back.”

INVITATIONS

ArtisticAddressing.com: Aggieabbie: (A++) "Loved their addressing styles! The price was soooo worth it not to have to address them myself. So many people commented on how beautiful they were!”

By Invitation Only: arbw: (A+) "Sandy was great. The invitations were gorgeous. She worked with me to get something I really liked. She got them done so fast!”

Jean M: Pinkpumps: “(A+): We ordered our invitations and our favors from Jean M online. They were both wonderful. They arrived promptly and the customer service was very easy to work with.”

Kinkos – Edmond: jesilyne: “Printing (A+) I took my invites and programs here to be printed. After a fiasco that was my fault ( I cornered my paper, makes it very hard for printer to accept) they were very helpful and printed everything. It all turned out great, Only one was off center. (again, my fault for cornering the paper) Very affordable and quick, everything was done in about 4 hours.”

MissMyla knottie: Carorob: “(A): MissMyla did my invitations and programs. They turned out great and at a great cost. She took an invitation I found that was very $$$ and recreated it for me. www.nanidesigns.net”

Jennifer at www.theroyal details.com
Dallaschirogirl: (A+) "She is amazing. I had a problem conveying to others what I wanted in an invitation, but Jennifer read my mind. She had something put together the same day, emailed it to me, and got the ball rolling in no time. I was so pleased with them, and have heard so many great compliments about them, they were fabulous."

mygatsby.com: sadean: “(A+): I bought all of our stationary (STD, invitations, rehearsal invitations, program paper, thank you cards, etc.) from My Gatsby. They are very helpful and my orders were always shipped promptly. I purchased the Envelopments pocketfolds for our invitations and the thermography was free.”

Nok Nee Designs: Carorob: “Stephanie Rahal did our Save-the-Dates. She is a close friend of mine and extremely talented. Visit www.nokneedesigns.com”

www.paperandmore.com:
jesilyne: “Paper, envelopes (A+): I ordered cardstock, envelopes and paper from the company for DIY invites, programs and other projects. The products are all really nice, I recieved several emails, confirming order, confirming payment, shipment and follow-up. My paper arrived in about 4 days and the order was perfect. Overall- Awesome- I would highly recommend them.”

brookeh67: (A+) “all stationary supplies”

dansbridetobe: (A) "There were some problems at first with the proofs, but they quickly got it corrected, and the invitations turned out great."

Paper 'N More (Oklahoma City)
MegLG: (A+++) "They were fantastic! So easy to work with, had exactly what I wanted, even helped me with my DIY programs and iteneraries. I can't wait to have another party and go to them to make the invites!!"

Teresa Lang Designs (Also known as Knottie, MrsAmazon):
oumartini (A+) "I haven't gotten my invitations yet (sometime this week) but the samples have been amazing!! She can take a high price invitation and duplicate for 1/2 the cost!!"

Chiocutie: (A+) "Teresa is a paper goddess!! She did my rehearsal dinner invites, rehearsal dinner menus, invitations, programs, and sign for my birdcage. Almost everyone I sent an invitation to said they were the cutest/prettiest/best/neatest,etc invitations they had ever seen. Teresa did exactly what I wanted without me even knowing what I wanted! The invitations were beautiful and she did a perfect job assembling them. I compared prices for pocket-fold invites online and found them to be about $7-10 a piece, I got custom-made pocket-folds from Teresa for about $2.30 a piece with envelope printing! Not only is she extremely affordable, but the invitations are high-quality and cuter than anything I’d seen online. She really can do anything. My programs were also amazing. I also had numerous compliments on the RD invites and menus and programs. I will definitely be using Teresa again for any and all paper products I need. I’m already trying to think of excuses to throw parties and showers so I can have her make me invitations! She is amazing!!!! "

KurtsQT: (A+) - We all know how wonderful she is!

SarahJanelle: "(A+):. Where to begin??? Teresa played such a HUGE role in making my wedding everything I’d always dreamed! Had I not come across her on the knot, I wouldn’t have been able to afford the invitations she was able to create for me. She is such a talented design artist, fabulous to work with, and as I mentioned….her prices are sooo cheap for the quality of the product you get! She did our invitations, RD invites, and programs. She is MOST DEFINITELY the Paper Goddess!!!"

OKCBrideInCA: (A+). "Teresa made the process so painless. Since I live out-of-state, I was able to help design everything via email. I never spoke to her on the phone once and never had to! The invites came literally ready to be sent out. All I needed to do was stuff the inserts and the put them in the envelope. She can turn your dream invitations into reality for half the cost!"

KJM2006: (A+)"All I can say is that I am glad that I joined the knot to have the opportunity to find MrsAmazon. She was amazingly easy to work with and went well above my expectations. I told her my Daisy theme and colors and she put together a design that I loved. The design was unique and simple and that is me and what I like. Highly recommend her."

Tuxedo Junction
Ktnbobby: (F) When it comes to invitations, Tuxedo Junction is horrible. They made many mistakes which caused me to make about 5 30 minute trips to the store. They took the order wrong but for some reason felt the need to tell me over and over that either I or the plant must have messed it up. I would not recommend ordering invitations through them.

TheAmericanWedding.com: Aggieabbie: “(A+): This is where we ordered our invites from. They came in much more quickly than we expected and were very well priced.”

Chicweddingessentials.com
brookeh67: “(A+): silver momogrammed cake topper”

CoffeeBeanDirect.com
ChioCutie (A): "I searched every where for affordable whole coffee beans in bulk and this was by far the cheapest. Shipping was free for an order more than 25lbs and it took about 10 days. A 25lb bag of the “Poor Man’s Blend” was $65 which comes out to $2.60/lb and the cheapest I found elsewhere was about $4.00/lb."

craftcuts.com
ChioCutie: (A) " I ordered my letter and crystals online and bought some all-purpose glue at Hobby Lobby. Just make sure you buy glue that will work on metal, if you have a metal cake topper. I bought the flat back swarovski crystals in 3,4, and 5mm."

SarahJanelle: "(A+): Quick shipping and very reasonably priced."

Aggieabbie: “(A+): We originally bought a tray that had magnolias around the edge and had it engraved with our names and date. We got it back and it was so beautiful we just had to keep it and order a different tray for the guests to sign! A lot of guests didn't sign deep enough, so you may want to have both the tray and a guest book.”

Eshakti.com
tracieou: (A+) "Doubtful that anyone will need sarees, but if anyone does, they were great! The order was correct & they were made to fit the girls & they all fit perfect! They also rushed them from India so they could get here for the wedding…free of charge!”

Exquisite Valet
SarahJanelle: (A+) "Exquisite Valet did a great job for us. They came early enough to even park the GM vehicles when they had to get there early for pictures. They were dressed nice and we received many compliments on how great they were to work with."

Hobby Lobby
Carorob: “Almost all my decorations came from Hobby Lobby. I always looked for their weekly sales. I found these great yard candle holders at Pier One for $16 each. I used them as pew candelabras and now have them out on my deck! I just wrapped them with the berry garland I bought at Hobby Lobby for 50% off and put the glass and candles in them. Total probably $25 each and I got to keep them. I have tons of Christmas decorations now!”

Ideas In Ice
kimnrog: “(A+): I had a sculpture of a diamond engagement ring and received compliments on it all night.”

Michaels
Carorob: “I wanted the exit to look like snow, so we bought the “fake rice” from Michaels. The pictures turned out great. But a quick FYI: If someone throws it to hard it does kind of hurt.”

RomanticFlowers.com
ChioCutie: (A) I ordered 5yds. Of the 4” double-faced Swiss Satin for my sash and it turned out great. It looked just like the Monique L’hullier sash that I had tried on with my dress, but about 1/5 of the cost! I think I got it for about $50 and I loved it! I also ordered 28yds. Of the 1” thick double-faced Swiss Satin in the same color for my BM’s but didn’t end up using it. This is definitely the ONLY place to go to order ribbon for a sash, they were fabulous.

TamisPlace.com
SarahJanelle: (B) "I ordered the cake topper kit, which consisted of 3 different sizes of crystals with up to 3 color choices. It was the perfect kit. However, it took over 2 weeks to arrive. I didn’t receive a response when I initially inquired. After my 2nd inquiry, she replied and said she didn’t know why they hadn’t arrived yet. They did eventually come, but I think she originally forgot to ship them."

OKCBride2B: (A+) "I ordered rhinstones in three different sizes and colors from Tami's website for my various DIY projects. They came in SO fast and were exactly what I needed. Highly recommend!

OFFICIANT

Fr. Thomas Boyer, St. Mark’s:
Kimminick: (A++++++) "He has the best singing voice I’ve ever heard a priest do. He sang the nuptial blessing. Everyone is raving in both of our hometowns how lovely the ceremony was.”

Dylan Cole of Wayne United Methodist Church
Ktnbobby: (A) "Great! He was very open to do the ceremony however we wanted."

Rev. Joane Fogel, Norman:
brookeh67: (A+) "Joane was fantastic! She sat down with us and we wrote the whole ceremony together and she did a great job at the ceremony. She even had her husband, Norman, acting as “stage manager” getting everyone down the aisle in the right order, etc.”

Rev. Debra Gallamore
LYD07: (A) "Debra was great, wrote a beautiful ceremony, and was very professional."

Rev. Miles Henry:
Randomtulsagirl: (A) "Our officiate was recommended by the chapel, he was a very nice and also very experienced with the chapel.”

Rod Smith, Music Minister, FBC Altus,
Dallaschirogirl: (A) "A little disappointed with the way the rehearsal went down. We did not practice any of the songs, mothers lighting their candles, our vowels, nor did the soloists rehearse. However, the wedding was perfect and very fun."

Ron Babbit
KJM2006: (A+) "He is an old family friend of ours. He was my Youth Minister from where I grew up. He was great to work with and did an awesome job officiating our wedding."

PHOTOGRAPHER

A Moment in Time
MedicsBride: (undecided on a grade) "I haven't seen any pictures yet so all I can say was that they were not intrusive durring any part of the day."

Billie's Portraits
kjepp (F) "We did our Engagement Pics with Billie’s Portraits but found another photographer for the wedding. We made the change after seeing the poor quality of Billie’s work, after realizing how difficult she was to deal with, and after she made it clear she did not plan to fulfill all parts of her contract. We are still looking into our options with the Jenks area Better Business Bureau. Please contact me if you’d like more details- I’d be glad to elaborate."

Chad Moss Photography
Brandella: (A+) I will give a full review as soon as I see our pictures. However, they were all great to work with.

Charlie Samples
Aggieabbie: (A+++) "What can I say about Charlie??! He's amazing, his pictures are amazing, and he really captures the MOMENT. Bridal pics and engagement pics were so fun and everyone at the wedding commented on what an incredible photographer he was. He is AWESOME!”

Colorband Photography
Sonnerbride: (A+) "Jamie and Roy are my new best friends! They are sweet, fun, and creative. They are very good about going with the flow and catching people in their natural poses. I LOVED our engagement portraits and my bridal portraits and can't wait to see the wedding photos. They made us feel comfortable from the very beginning and were worth the money.”

Coggins Photography
Ktnbobby: (A) "They were wonderful. Robert and Trish captured some very beautiful moments on our wedding day. They got hundreds of pictures very quickly the day of the wedding. They also had my proofs ready before I was even back from the honeymoon."

David Taylor,
ChioCutie: (A+) "David is my best friend’s husband and is an extremely talented amateur photographer. We really wanted to do engagement pictures and bridal portraits but couldn’t afford to spend $500 on them and didn’t really need 1,000 pictures. David was able to give us about 40 amazing engagement pics for a much more reasonable price. David is very good at capturing emotion and our personalities are evident in all of the pictures. I am so happy that I had David do our pictures. All of our e-pics and bridal portraits turned out amazing. David is young, enthusiastic and has a great eye for photography."

Edmonson Photographers (in Plano, TX)
sadean: (A++) "I haven’t received the professional pictures back yet, but our engagement pictures turned out fabulous. They sent 2 photographers and both were using digital cameras. I’m expecting to receive between 1500-2000 proofs to sort through. Since I first signed my contract with them, Modern Bride magazine awarded them some kind of honor and they have since tripled their prices. I ended up getting a real deal on the photography.”

Gordon Dinsmore
Me&Brandon: (B) "They were good but i'm an artist and i'm real into details and i notice everything...they are beautiful pics, but not what i had hoped for."

Images By Dan:
Sunnflower03: (A+) "Pics coming soon! They were great to work with. They took the time to get great shots and were excited about their job! Plus they were wonderful with keeping me calm and making sure that I was taken are of all day!”

Kriea Arie
AlysonGail: (A+) "I haven't gotten our pics back yet, but I can say that Kriea is simply amazing. She's so incredibly helpful and low stress. We got the posed pictures that we wanted, and she was always there during the wedding, snapping away at all the special moments. And her prices are AMAZING. I'd use her again in a split second."

John Lew
tracieou: (A-) "The pictures look really good, but not as good as our engagement shots. I think he isn’t quite as good at quick action shots because he missed some stuff. My main complaint is that he was grumpy all day. I don’t know if it was personal or because things got sort of crazy w/ our plans that morning (we were supposed to have an Indian signing ceremony in the morning & the officient was hours late so we had to do it later), but a lot of my family members commented on his attitude. Also, before the reception was over, he left & I didn’t even know it. He’s still a good photographer though.”

Tulsaokbride: “I think I actually heard of John from this message board. Honestly, I think this was one of the best choices we made for the wedding. He was fabulous. A totally nice guy and very talented. Plus, he doesn't make the whole print buying process complicated. You simply get 4x6 prints of a certain amount of pictures (depending on what package you go with...we had about 400-500 I think!) and a cd of all the pictures as well (since he shoots all digital now). That way it's super easy to get reprints made. He does do more photojournalistic shots (instead of more formal ones) which I really like.”

ChioCutie: (A+) "Picking John as our photographer was probably the best wedding decision we made. He has a great personality and a remarkable talent. He is very passionate about his photography and gave us exactly what we wanted. I could not be happier with the way our photos turned out. John’s prices have increased a bit since we booked him, but he is still one of the more affordable true photojournalists. I would highly recommend John Lew to anyone looking for a photojournalistic style for their wedding photos."

RachieSLP: (A+) "I haven't gotten the pictures back yet, but John was great..and we loved our e-pics! He was always taking pictures, and he seemed to always be in the right place at the right time for the funny moments and the special moments. Sometimes, I forgot that he was even there. Photography was a big part of our budget, and it was the most important thing to me. I really researched photographers, and the minute I stumpled across John's website (www.johnlewphotography.com), I knew that he was "the one." We went to meet with him, and I cried while we were watching his sample slideshows (I'm a big cry baby). Anyway, I would absolutely recommend him."

Kevin Paul Photography:
jeshawk: “I highly recommend Kevin. He took amazing pictures, "photo-journalism" style as well as formals, and was extremely attentive, pleasant, and detail-oriented. You might ask he bring an assistant for better ceremony coverage - otherwise, I could not be more thrilled. For extra, you can even get your high-res images on CD. He's unbelievably reasonably priced, too! Go, Kevin!!!”

Lamphere Photography
jaysougirl: (A++) "Besides the fact that his prices are very reasonable, the pictures were so good!!!! He has totally gone above and beyond any expectations. Although he has a very unique personality and sense of humor, he has came through in every way. The engagement pictures were awesome, he traveled to my location for bridal pictures, and the wedding was just amazing. He has even put the pictures to music and made us DVD\'s. I really can't say enough about how helpful he and his wife have been!!”

KurtsQT: (A++) "Lan and Taira are great people to work with. They are really able to capture every moment and I love their photojournalistic style. Outside of being awesome photojournalists they are truly nice people that will do anything to help you out. They were always easy to get a hold of and have never had one problem with them. I highly recommend their services to anyone. They shot our engagement pictures and wedding pictures. They also shot boudoir photos for me and will be doing my bridals next week. Also Lan came through when I decided that I needed someone to videotape the wedding at the last minute. He asked his son Dustin to videotape it for me for $50 using my video camera. I haven't seen the video yet, but I am sure it is great considering what I paid."

JWallis Photography
KJM2006: (A+) "Words can’t express how I was pleased with working with Julie Wallis. She is an awesome lady and the quality of the engagement pictures and the wedding pictures was exactly what we wanted. She captured all the details that I wanted and more. I highly recommend her."

Lynn Timmons
kjepp (A+) "Luckily Lynn Timmons Studio had an opening for my wedding date. Lynn has a couple of assistants that are more affordable than he is, and Zach Seat did a fabulous job on my Bridals and Wedding. He was a blast to work with, and he produced the best pictures anyone has ever taken of me."

Photography by Camilla
(622 Oak Dr, Weatherford, OK 580-772-5141)
brookeh67: “(A+++): Camilla was absolutely fantastic!!! Her prices are reasonable and she let us keep all of our negatives! Some of our family thought she came off a little bossy but I think when you’re trying to corral that many people, you have to be a little bossy. She has a great sense of humor and did a great job of making sure we got the shots that were important to us! The photos were wonderful!!!”

Photography by Laura
SarahJanelle: "(A) Laura and her team did a WONDERFUL job capturing all the special moments of our day in just the style we wanted. They were so fun to work with, and we ended up with an abundance of excellent pictures! The only reason it’s not an A+ is because the pictures aren’t available online, which makes it a little hard since I live in a different state than mostly all of my family and close friends. I still definitely recommend them though…the quality of work is great."

Plumlee Photography
Christmastime: “(A+): Mike and Debbie (Brandon's aunt and uncle) are just wonderful! They did both our engagement and wedding photos and they turned out marvelous! While I was a bit apprehensive about hiring family, I couldn't have been more surprised and relieved. Debbie was assertive with her direction of the wedding party but kind and cheerful and calmed me down tremendously! Mike's creative eye for just the right shot really captured the essence of the day. They thought of the best shots--ones that I hadn't thought of even though I had given them tons of example pictures! Plus, they used all digital photography, so we'll be able to use our pictures in an electronic slide show and email them to family and friends!”

Ruth Vesanen
Randomtulsagirl: “(A+): Ruth was great, she was recommended to us by the Chapel because of her experience with them – She really knew what she was doing and she knew just where to place us to get great pictures – I can’t wait to see how well her’s turned out.”

Shawnee Color Lab (Alan Day)
Kimminick: (A) "Alan did a spectacular job on all the before pictures. And he was really quick on getting me my album, since we were moving to Nashville and I wanted it before we moved. It was a huge surprise to me the day before we moved when I found it at my parents house.

Something New Photography by Deedra , (940-631-4879)
Dallaschirogirl: (A++++++) "This review is pre-wedding pictures. This lady is one of a kind. She drove to Dallas to take our engagement pictures in the freezing cold. When my Bridals were rained out she had an alternative site already picked out. Wedding day, she got there at 10am when BM and my hair appts began. She stayed ALL day. She brought along her assistant and they took a million pictures. She is very easy to work with. She returns calls, emails, texts; you name it she gets back with you. She is super funny and makes the day perfect. Everyone absolutely loved her, we got so many compliments on how wonderful she is. We are so excited to see our pictures."

Tara Lokey:
MrsMuelly: (A+++++++++) "I can't say enough great things about Tara and her husband Derek. They did a wonderful job with both our e-pics and the wedding. She caught all the moments that I was too busy to see. I will definitely use Tara for the memories to come in my family.”

kimnrog: (A+++) "She was there to take some casual pictures of those in attendance (for the rehersal).”

Pinkpumps: (A++++++++) "I can't rave enough about Tara! Professional, funny, an absolute joy to work with. She and her husband felt like guests at the wedding. And.. THE PICTURES. Please take the time to look at all of my proofs online. (Instaproofs/ Huffaker-Brady wedding/password "brady812"). I had trouble picking just a few for my profile. You really must see them all!”

OKCBrideInCA: (A+) "We were absolutely thrilled with our wedding pictures. Tara has such a great energetic personality and not only were our pictures fabulous, but I’m having such a hard time picking out the best ones because there are so many! Tara is a true professional and I was highly impressed with her skills and the fact that she was never overbearing while shooting. I didn’t even realize that she was taking pictures of us! She rocks my world!"

SoonerBride06: A+ "Tara Lokey is incredible. I love, love, love her and we were thrilled with her work. She took our engagement and wedding photos and also my bridal portraits. She is so laid back and easy to work with. She tends to get a bit photojournalisty but just let her know what you want and she is golden."

Tom Gilbert:
Whatsinaname?: “(A+++): Head of photography at the Tulsa World--he's done my sisters and my weddings though I don't know if he usually does weddings--you can always call and ask. He set up some great posed photographs of family, etc after the wedidng but the rest fp the time used an amazing photojournalistic style--you can really tell the actions and see the story of the whole wedding. I am impressed with his work. I stopeed noticing he was there a few minutes into the reception, he blended in well and noone noticed he was even around. Plus he got the website of the photos up and running before we were even back from our super-short honeymoon.”

Travis Caperton
erica_osu2001: "(??): The verdicts still out because I haven't seen the pictures. He did arrive early and did a good job of blending in with the crowd. A couple of times I had no clue where he was until I saw the flash go off. We see our pictures within a week so I'll update then."

Visuality Photography
MrsAmazon (A+++) "What can I say…our photographers are EXCEPTIONAL!! Photography was our biggest priority (and our biggest splurge); and Judy and Chris did all but let us down; they were well worth every penny. From the start, they were extremely accommodating with any requests we had; their work is phenomenal; and you couldn’t meet a nicer couple.”

Carorob: (A and then some) "Chris and Judy did an amazing job. They made everyone feel so comfortable before after and during the wedding. I hardly knew they were there. I can’t say enough good things. My advice: book them now! I have hundreds of perfect wedding pictures and plan on using them for family portraits in the future! If there were a higher grade then an A they would surely get it.”

dansbridetobe (A): "We haven't gotten the photos back yet, but we had fun with the photographers, and for the most part they were quick and out of the way. I'll update once we get the photos."

Lyd07: (B+) "Very good, professional and great to work with."

RECEPTION LOCATIONS

Belmar Golf Club (in Norman)
sadean: “(C): The only reason I give this place a C is because of the experience I had with the bar bill (see my post below) and that’s only because of the jackass that runs the place. The facility itself is absolutely beautiful – the rental fee includes the tables and very nice chivari wooden chairs and a bartender. There’s even a location overlooking the golf course where you can have the ceremony. There is a very nice sound system installed where you can adjust the volume levels in different locations of the room.”

Christmastime: “(A): Though Kent, the manager, is quite the talkative salesman, if you're smart and get everything in writing, you'll have a wonderful time! The location is beautiful enough for small, intimate weddings as well as large parties. Very little decoration was needed because the building was furnished with just the right amount of seating, furnishings and decorative touches. They're very willing to make you happy, but you must be the one to make first attempts at communication. Just be up front, assertive and open about your questions and concerns and everything will turn out great!”

Berkley's in Moore
(2113 Riverwalk Dr, Moore (405) 912-4567) dansbridetobe (A) "It was loud, but what else can you expect from a busy restaurant on a Friday night? They had menus made up for us and the price was very reasonable. At first we only had one server for 40 people and things were slow, but we got another one in there quickly."

Bethany Christian Church:
Randomtulsagirl: (A+) "Everything went great – the church was very accommodating for us, they let us in on Friday morning to decorate and they let us use their kitchen and supplies. Everything was great.”

Chesapeake Boathouse
Lyd07: (A) "Things weren’t perfect, but I have no regrets about choosing the location. Guests loved it and we got so many compliments!! It was really a beautiful, elegant and modern location. Sue at the Boathouse is pretty easy to work with, but she’s really busy so don’t expect a lot from her. Also, the halide lighting is on a timer and Sue told me that they couldn’t turn them off..hmmm. So, the reception was a tad bright, but it was still beautiful. I would definitely recommend the boathouse if you like modern buildings and elegant, simple décor."

Cobblestone Creek Golf Club
(Cobblestone Creek Dr., Norman, OK 73072. (405) 872-2582)
brookeh67: (See Ceremony Location)

Crowne Plaza Hotel
RachieSLP: (C) "The food was amazing (from what I heard), and they are reasonably prices compared to some other reception sites. They were, for the most part, easy to work with and accommodated the majority of our requests. We had some issues early on with being told one thing, and then several weeks later being told another (probably because they were in the process of changing ownership). I took the OOT boxes in, and the manager assured me that they would be handed out as the guests checked in (I even had a list prepared for him). Turns out, a little more than 25% of the boxes never got handed out, and mom was handing them out to people the morning after the wedding. Also, at the reception, we provided wine and Bud Light on tap, and we also requested a cash bar for guests who wanted something different. The bartender never let guests know that we were providing the wine and Bud Light, and he had all the different beers that they were offering “for sale” sitting out on the bar. Someone would walk up and say “I’ll have a Bud Light”, and he would charge them for a bottle. Also, the bottles of wine were not visible at all, and I don’t think many guests knew it was available. We ended up with half a keg left over and 2 cases of wine. The catering manager was also very unprofessional throughout our entire experience (I won’t go into detail). In addition, we were originally told that we could begin decorating at 3pm (with a 6pm wedding), and it was later pushed back to 5pm. Luckily Cathy Johnson of Cathy Johnson Weddings went to the reception site to oversee all the of decorating. Would I have the reception there again? Probably. But I would get EVERYTHING in writing!

Express Event Center
MrsMuelly: (A+) "The coordinator was very easy to get ahold of as well as quite helpful. This is the only place in NW OKC that could accommodate our full party comfortably and still have a dancefloor (500+). I wasn't sure in the beginning due to decor, but it worked beautifully.”

Fort Sill Polo Club
MrsAmazon: See Ceremony Location

Gaillardia Golf & Country Club
Aggieabbie: (A+) "Yes, they are expensive, especially for a dinner reception, but they are totally worth every penny. Shelley Clark, the wedding coordinator I worked with, was so personable and helpful. I had a few odd requests and she made sure every one of them was fulfilled. The place is amazingly beautiful.. you'd never know you were still in Oklahoma! Gorgeous!”

The Greens

NCED Marriott - Norman
dansbridetobe (A++++++):" The reception hall was AWESOME. Everyone commented on how beautiful it was and how great the servers were and how great the cocktail hour was. Mickey and Roger are wonderful to work with."

Oaktree Country Club
MegLG: (A+++++) "They were the best! Beautiful property, view of the golf course, excellent staff, food was delicious, accomodated my every need. They even waived the rental fee because of the ammount we spent on food and alcohol. I would never have had my reception somewhere else."

Oklahoma Aquarium
Medicsbride: (A++++) "So great! I told them make it look pretty and they made it look fantastic! The food was good and the staff was great."

Oklahoma Memorial Stadium Kerr McGee Lounge
Kimminick: “(A+: You can’t beat the view from the suites. Although pricey, I highly recommend it to any OU fan. You can get more information at www.soonersports.com. The price includes the facility all day (that may change since they are booked every day this summer, so if you’re interested, book NOW!), tables, chairs, & access to the upper deck seats. Having the lights on in the stadium cost $50 per hour. Reserving the suites is the same price as the Santee Lounge ($3000), just FYI.”

Oklahoma Memorial Stadium Santee Lounge
Carorob: “I wouldn't have had it any other place! OU did a great job on the renovations. I would highly recommend it, especially if you are an OU football fan. Even my “Longhorn” bridesmaids thought it was awesome. We even got to go on the field for some pictures. IT WAS AMAZING!”

SoonerBride06: (A) "They were great to work with and everything turned out beautiful. The food was fabulous and the food arrangement was amazing. The only reason I didn't give them an A+ is the price. It was pretty expensive to rent but we are both big Sooner fans so it was worth it to us. OU catering did a very good job and the bartenders and attendants were great."

Petroleum Club
tracieou: “(A+): I was worried that there wouldn’t be enough seating, but they had redone the room & opened it up a lot so there was plenty of space. Everyone said the food was great (I have no idea b/c we never stopped to eat). Things went smoothly.”

Sunnflower03: “(A+): Wonderful reception venue. We had the sit down dinner with an open bar and everything was top notch!!!”

kjepp: (A) "Our reception was downtown at the Petroleum Club. They can seem difficult to work with because they like everything to be done a certain way, but when it was all said and done it was perfect. Food, view, service…Perfect."

Santa Fe Depot in Norman
AlysonGail: "(A+): I truly can't say enough good things about the staff at the Depot.

St. Mark’s Founder’s Hall
Kimminick: “(A+++): The Hall was large enough for us to fit all of our guests (some had to stand, but I didn’t care. I knew people would mingle, so I didn’t have tables & chairs for every single guest). Table cloths, use of the kitchen, silverware, tables, & chairs were all provided.”

The Tulsa Event Center
Brandella: (A) "We chose this location for our reception because they allowed us to decorate the day before and clean up the day after; it was a huge, empty, white box with endless decorating possibilities; and Ben worked for Clear Channel at the time so we got a good discount. Keeley was easy to work with and always available. We were able to serve alcohol and choose our own caterer unlike many of the other venues we like in Tulsa."

University of Oklahoma Ballroom
Pinkpumps: (A+) "We held our reception in the university's ballroom and also used OU's catering. Both were EXCELLENT. The woman we planned the event with was very helpful. Everyone raved about the food and the service. The staff did a great job of adjusting to our crowd, which was quite a bit larger than we expected.”

OU Faculty House
Sonnerbride:
(A) "David Love is so easy to work with and the cost of renting the place was very fair. It also is a very beautiful location so it did not need a lot of decorating. The rental fee, cost of food, and all the extras ended up being only a couple hundred dolars over what some places wanted just to rent a room nothing else included.”

REHEARSAL DINNER LOCATIONS

Abuelo’s
(17 E Sheridan Ave, Bricktown; 405/235-1422):
Kimnrog: (A) "We had a private banquet room. People were able to order off of the menu and the waitstaff was very attentive. Parking was a pain though of course because it was Friday night.”

Boston Building (13th Floor)
KJM2006: (A+) "Great Location for the Downtown area (One block from the church). Great atmosphere, location and setting. We received a huge discount due to a family member that runs the building."

Cobblestone Creek Golf Club
(Cobblestone Creek Dr., Norman, OK 73072. (405) 872-2582)
Carorob: (A) "Cobblestone Creek Golf Club was awesome! It was decorated all up for Christmas. It is a great location for the rehearsal, wedding or reception. The party lasted all night and everyone had a blast.”

Crabtown:
Sonnerbride: (A) "I've already created a post about them but in case you missed it they are awesome. The food was amazing as well as the service.”

OKCBRIDEINCA: (A) "My mother-in-law dealt with them, but to my knowledge she had no problems at all and the rehearsal dinner was a bit hit. The staff was very friendly and the food was good."

Fred’s Fish and Steakhouse (Altus, OK)
Dallaschirogirl: (A++) "I guess when you work somewhere for two years you sort of get special treatment, however, we had excellent service and the food was wonderful.

Pearl's Lakeside:
aggieabbie: “(A+): We had our rehearsal dinner here. The food and service were fabulous (their cheesecake is wonderful!) and the view is beautiful at sunset. Great place for a rehearsal dinner!”

Rocky's Bricktown Event Center
jeshawk: “Rocky's is an awesome, all-wood bar/dinner/dancing sort of venue, with a sound system, dance floor, bar, food, and anything else you need. It's in the middle of Bricktown, and it's really nice-looking for evening events. Once again, an outdated website fails to do it justice. Rocky himself is a doll, and he is open to negotiating.”

Santa Fe Train Depot in Norman
sadean: “(C): (RD Location) The reason I give this place a C is because of who I booked it through, not because of the facility. If you are planning on using the Depot book it directly through the Performing Arts Org. and not through Box Party Plan-It. I originally booked through Box Party (not knowing I could go directly through Performing Arts) and they charged me $150/hour with a 4 hour minimum. Then I called the Performing Arts people by mistake and found out that they rent it out for $50/hr. So I had to consistently complain with Box Party until I got the price of the facility down. The actual Depot is a beautiful place for a reception or rehearsal – it only seats about 75 and you can bring in your own caterer.”

Stonemill BBQ and Steakhouse
Brandella: (B) We chose Stonemill because the food is great and it is very close to our church. They were supposed to have menus made up for us instead of handing our guests the full menu but they were not there. We had to find a manager who had no idea what we were talking to (he was the one we reserved and planned it with and he suggested the special menus!). He eventually printed up the menus and the service only got better after that. The food was good as usual and everyone had a great time.

Van's Pig Stand in Norman:
sadean: (A): “(RD Caterer) We had BBQ brisket, turkey, hot links and all the fixins for the rehearsal dinner. Van’s delivered the food to our location and picked up when we were finished. The food was great, but it always is.”

RENTALS

CoCo Flow
Aggieabbie: (A+) "Gene was easy to work with and all the guests LOVED the chocolate fountain!”

jaysougirl: (A+++++++) "Again great people to work with. Althogh I did not get to use it, I heard people saying how great it was. They also give you a discount if you say you heard about them from the perfect wedding guide. It was nice having them set it up, stay there, and clean it up.”

ktnbobby: (A+) "I absolutly loved our chocolate fountain

Conventions & More
MrsMuelly: (A) "The owner was willing to work with us on timing. Drop off, set up, and take down are all included in the price. Truly an effortless transaction.”

Frozen Fun
sadean: (A) (Margarita Machines) "Since we had two bars at our reception, I ordered 2 double-barrel margarita machines. They came and set up the machines and showed the bartenders how to use them. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the margaritas and we were even making sangria swirls with the sangria we had.”

Marianne’s Rentals
MrsAmazon: (A) "We used Marianne’s for our ceremony chairs, linens, and table rentals. I LOVED working with this vendor, particularly Jennifer. I went in there with a pile of ideas, and their staff helped us streamline it. And I can*t tell you how patient and helpful they were with my indecisiveness.”

kimnrog: (B-) (Champagne Fountain) "I must have had a blonde bridal moment because I didn't realize that there was no cooling mechanism. So, our Wedding Bell-inis were almost warm.”

AlysonGail: (B-) "The rentals were kind of a source of irritation for us in the weeks leading up to the wedding. This was because they hadn't made it clear to us in the beginning that there was "no way" we would be able to turn the rental items in on the Sunday after the wedding. Since our plane for the honeymoon left at 7:30am on Monday from DFW, obviously, we could not take the rental items back. We spoke to an employee at Marianne's who did not mention that the items could be picked up, but she sure did try to tell us the only way it would work out is if we paid her $100 to come in for 10 minutes on Sunday! That's just bad customer service. I'm so glad I called back again and got a different employee. The new Marianne's girl told us to take the rental items back to my work, and they would pick them up from my office for $65. So that's what we did. But for a few nights we were seriously panicking."

Party Pro:
SarahJanelle: (A+) "We rented all of our chairs, linens, flatware, goblets, and dishes from them. They were so great to work with, and the fact that they delivered and picked everything up for us made it so easy for us."

RINGS

Arthur Gordon
KurtsQT: (A+) "Art made my wedding band custom for me and sized it for me two times! He always came to my work and delivered everything for me, I never had to go to him. He is super nice! Email me or page me for contact information.

Ashley's Fine Jewelry
OUMedBride: (A+) "My wedding bands are beautiful and inexpensive."

Brockhaus Jewelers
dansbridetobe (A+++) "We love Brouchaus. Very friendly service. They didn't have exactly what DH wanted, but they were able to special order it and it came in quickly."

H&A
Carorob: “(A++): Rob bought my engagement ring at H&A here in OKC. He got a great price. We picked out the band form them as well. Because they are a diamond broker we were able to by my band for 30% less than it cost at BC Clark. We bought Rob’s first band there but he lost it the last day of our honeymoon. His new one is from James Avery (only $35). We should have done that from the beginning!”

Huntington Jewelers
dansbridetobe: (A-) "I love my ring, but it's a small store and other than his kids helping out, I think the owner is the only worker, so when they get busy you have to wait a long time."

Israel Diamonds (Tulsa, OK)
Brandella: (A++) "Ben bought my engagement ring there and had a great experience so we went back to buy our wedding bands. The service is wonderful and the prices are very reasonable.

J David’s in Broken Arrow
Randomtulsagirl: (A+) "Our rings are awesome. Kendra and Joel were great.”

Lewis Jewelers, Norman
Kimminick: (A) "They were the only place in the OKC metro that would even acknowledge us when we were engagement ring shopping. Mr. Lewis actually has his employees get out all the rings from their cases to make sure you are satisfied. I was definitely satisfied. Anthony loves his ring too!!”

Titaniumera.com
MrsAmazon: (A+) "We purchased both of our rings from www.titaniumera.com. AWESOME service, to say the least. The price included engraving, shipping, and a resizing.”

TRANSPORTATION

Bricktown Limos
Sunnflower03: (A+) "We rented the 1932 Caddy! They were awesome!”

SoonerBride06: (B) "They were good to work with and took care of business. The only reason I am giving them a B is because the air conditioning in our classic vintage Cadillac wasn't that good, but hey, it's an old car and it was 100 degrees that day. I wish they would have let us know when we selected the car that the car's AC was not strong. I did get really warm going from the church to the reception and I was really in need of some cool air."

Paris Limos
ktnbobby: (A) "Beautiful limo and the cheapest around. Our driver was great; he even offered to drive us around on our 1st anniversary for free!"

Royal Limousines
(5112 North Macarthur Boulevard, Warr Acres, OK 73122 (405) 789-9500):
Aggieabbie: “(A+): Great limo, on time, no problems! We had the best time hanging our heads out of the top and kissing! :)”

Mark Roberts
Tulsaokbride: “Since the ceremony and reception were in the same place, we didn't really need transportation, but my dad did hook us up with an old Rolls Royce that I believe Mark Roberts (car place in B-ville) owns. It was great and totally went with the theme...even if we only rode in it the few blocks to our hotel!”

TUXEDOS AND FORMAL WEAR

Al’s Formalwear
Kimminick: Norman Location: (B) "Two of the groomsmen’s, FIL, & BIL rented suits. They looked sharp. No one realized it until at the church that white shirts were NOT included. My mom had to run to Dillards to get one (I actually had an extra one in my car, but no one wanted me to stress! HA). Ring bearers sole of his shoe gave out before the ceremony, so MIL had to go get another pair. They were nice about the whole thing, but damn, wish we would have known about the white shirts.”

brookeh67: (B-) "There were several mistakes in our order. They forgot to order any of the shoes (although they sure charged us for them!)- thankfully, they had all but one size in stock and were able to get the other one to us early the morning of the wedding. The groom’s handkerchief and tie were the wrong color (not even close to being right)- they also got that in early the next morning. One of the groomsmens pants were a size 37- he wears a 29 (not sure if they messed up on the measurements or the order). Again, they had this taken care of by 2:00 the afternoon of the wedding. So they earn some points back by getting everything fixed quickly and were very nice.”

jaysougirl: (A+++) "They were so helpful and great to work with. They even came to the hospital to get my brother fitted for his tux. All the guys looked good, but Jayson of course looked the best.”

Pinkpumps: (A++) "Blake visited the Norman store once to select a tux. He handled everything else by phone from Washington, which involved SEVERAL changes. Naturally, I was fairly concerned. Every single tux was perfect. I love Al's.”

tracieou: (A) "Everything came in the correct sizes, just as we had ordered & they had the best prices in town.”

AlysonGail: (B+) "Al's was pretty good. They accidentally put my dad's tux on someone else's wedding party, so they had to get him a tux rushed in before the wedding. But they did deliver. For the most part, everything went well, and the guys looked dashing."

SarahJanelle: (A+) "Crystal was very helpful in this process, and handled everything up to the week of the wedding, then transferred the event to the Tulsa store we’d actually be picking the tuxes up at. This was so reassuring for me as we had GM from all over the U.S., and I liked that one person was keeping track of it all. The tuxes all fit great too, which is almost unheard of it seems!"

SoonerBride06: (A) "We purchased my husband's tux from JoS A. Banks but rented from Al's for the rest of the wedding party. We didn't have any problems at all, everything went very smoothly with Al's."

Ascot Formalwear:
Carorob: (F-) "I got suckered into them at the Dallas bridal show. They told us we could still order them in Oklahoma. The Quail Springs store helped us out a lot and we got them all in OK. It just caused a headache when the guys would go in there because they would always give them our name and then they were told our wedding was in Dallas. So it confused the heck out of the groomsmen. But I still think we had the cutest groomsmen and ushers ever.”

Men's Wearhouse
dansbridetobe: (A) "There were only minor problems with any of the tuxes, that I know about, which were taken care of directly in the store. The guys looked great in the tuxes."

RachieSLP: (A-) "For the most part, we had a great experience with Men’s Warehouse. I had minor issues, but they fixed them. For example, all the tuxes came in with bow ties even though we told them on several occasions that we wanted long ties. They did fix it though, but it was one more added stress a couple of days before the wedding. All of the tuxes fit well. Prior to the wedding, there were several times that I requested a list of all the people that needed tuxes for the wedding and who was getting what. Each time, I found a mistake. If you use Men’s Warehouse, be proactive and don’t assume that they have everything down the way that you want it. I would recommend them."

Brandella: (A-) "We had a few problems with the fit of the tuxes (groomsmen only thanks goodness!) but they were quick to fix everything. All the guys looked great!"

Dallaschirogirl: (B+) "We had guys from all over in the wedding so we had to pick somewhere that was in all of the states. Several of the tuxedos did not fit properly. I think it depends on which location you went to. In addition, when one of the GM went to order his tuxedo, they did not make him pay for it so we were stuck with the bill. On the other hand, when we had to return the tuxes by close on Sunday after the wedding, we were running a little late an they stayed open an extra 10 minutes for us to make it in time so we would not be charged extra money."

OKCBRIDEINCA: (A+) "The guys didn't have any problems with their tuxes and they all looked fabulous."

KJM2006: (A+) "They were so easy to work with. I had no problems with any guys measurements. The prices were the best that I found in Tulsa."

Tom's Formalwear
erica_osu2001: (D) "Although everything worked out in the end this place was a hassle!! The forgot to order our ringbearer tux and we were frantic to find one at the last minute. Then when the tuxes came in, they ordered all of the groomsmen the wrong vest, but DH the right one."

Lyd07: (B+) “Only bad thing was that a few of the tuxes were quite oversized. But they had others, so it was fine! Plus, husband got a free suit if everyone turned their tuxes in the next Monday. I thought it would be a crappy suit because it was free, but it’s actually quite nice!”

Tuxedo Junction
MrsMuelly: “(A): The location was very easy to get to - in Quail Springs Mall. Plus, there are multiple locations outside of OK which worked for our out of town groomsmen. The prices were very reasonable and the staff was good. They even helped me surprise my DH with an orange vest for the reception!”

Ktnbobby: (A) "Everything came in on time and fit good."

Tuxedo Specialists
(7640 NW Expressway St # 206, Oklahoma City; 405/232-3571)
sadean: (A+) "We ordered a total of 12 tuxedos and there was only one thing wrong. It was the groom's collar being a little too tight, but he could have worn it and not had a problem. I think the tuxedos were $75 each with shoes and a full-back vest. There are several locations in the OKC area and they let you pick them up on the Thursday before your wedding. Also, their entire warehouse is located in downtown OKC so if something is wrong, the warehouse is open on Saturdays.”

VIDEOGRAPHERS

III Oaks Productions (405/478-8273)
Sunnflower03: (A+) "We haven’t seen the video yet, but Toby was a delight to work with!!”

SoonerBride06: (A+) "Chris and Toby are great. They worked together with Tara wonderfully and really captured all of our special moments. I received our edited DVD two weeks after the wedding."

MegLG: (A+) "Made our slideshow DVD of the Hawaii wedding to show at the reception. Did a great job, even came out to help my mom set up and show the staff at Oaktree exactly what to do."

Creative Photo Video (405/728-4336)
Kimminick: (A) "The two videographers were wonderful. The lady who was in the room with me getting ready was extremely helpful (since my BM’s weren’t). The video turned out great. Somehow there was a glitch in their DVD's and I didn't get the majority of the wedding party (the vows & stuff). I called them on it, so they made new ones and sent me an entire new set with the other 5 we received. It was very nice of them to fix their mistake.”

Christmastime: (A+) "Wonderful! We had two photographers, a man and a woman, and they couldn't have been more involved and comprehensive with their shots. They were also very unobtrusive but captured every angle of emotion. Plus, Brandon wore a wireless lapel microphone so that all our whispers could be captured for our video memories! And at the reception, our contracted time had run out, but we weren't ready to leave. In fact, we hadn't even done the bouquet or garter toss! Rick approached my mother--not me--and asked her if we were ready for them to leave or to keep filming. We, of course, wanted them to keep filming and the fee to have them stay was very reasonable and not asked for at the end of the night. We'll be able to pay when we get the video back. I just thought it was kind of him to think of us before they finished what we had originally contracted for.”

nFocus Media & Marketing:
Brandella: (A+) "so far I will give a full review as soon as we see our video. We hired Ward because he was a co-worker of Ben's. He was very funny and easy to work with and everyone seemed to enjoy having him around."

Picture Perfect Video Productions
KJM2006: (A) "It is only an A because I haven’t seen the finished product. But they did create a video montage that I played at the beginning of my wedding and I thought it was great. They were very professional and easy to work with. I felt at the wedding that they captured a lot of the moments I wanted. They did a lot of interviews with family and friends. I am real excited to see the end results."

VideoArts:
SarahJanelle: (A+) "Keith and Glenda are so, so, SO great to work with! We absolutely LOVE our video, and everyone who’s seen it is very impressed with the quality! They did such a great job capturing all the moments in a wonderful way. The editing was excellent, and everyone always says the same thing after watching it – It seems like a fairytale! J I am so glad we used a videographer, because I really didn’t remember much of anything, especially the ceremony. Also one of our favorite wedding decisions!"

Video Legacy:
erica_osu2001: (??) "Once again, I'll update because I haven't seen the finished product. Eric did go out of his way to accomodate us. His contract was for 6 hours and the chapel was for 5, but he came to the rehearsal dinner the night before to scout out shooting locations to utilize the extra hour. Also, our slideshow he made for our reception was amazing."
