Garlic Potatoes
Serves 4 to 6
2 lbs - Potatoes, peeled
1/2 tsp - Salt
1/2 tsp - Freshly ground pepper
12 oz - Cheddar cheese, grated
2/3 cup - Heavy cream
4 - Garlic cloves, crushed
Boil potatoes until tender, about 20 minutes.
Drain well and let cool.
Slice potatoes thinly and arrange in a lightly buttered shallow baking dish.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Top with 1/3 of the cheese.
Pour half of the cream over the cheese.
Top with 1/3 of the remaining cheese.
Pour over the remaining cream and top it with the remaining cheese.
Sprinkle garlic evenly over the top.
Bake in a 350 degrees oven until the top is browned and crisp, about 40 minutes.
