Smt Nivedita Mallya is a classical Bharatanatyam dance exponent, having undergone intensive training for over 20 years under the able guidance of her guru Smt Padmini Ravi, one of the finest exponents of the Vazhvoor style of Bharatanatyam.
Nivedita has participated in many dance workshops conducted by accomplished proponents of the art like Smt Chitra Visweswran, Smt Kalanidhi Narayanan, Sri VAK Ranga Rao and Kum Malavika Sarukkai.
She was auditioned and has performed with Smt Vyjayanthimala Bali for her prized dance ballet Sangha Tamil Malai staged at Madras, Bangalore and Mysore.
She has worked as a secretary for Pradhan Centre for Arts where she was involved in organizing monthly dance and music recitals by accomplished and upcoming artists all over India. She was absorbed as a senior tutor by her Guru and assisted her in teaching at Pradahan Dance Centre 1992-1995.
Having performed in several solo and group recitals, she has performed lead roles in many of the dance ballets presented by her Guru’s institution. She is an auditioned artiste for Doordarshan Kendra, India and has given a number of performances for television.

  • Nivedita has traveled all over India with her Guru Smt Padmini Ravi’s troupe and to Australia in 1998.
She has been teaching Bharatanatyam in the United States since early 2000.
