Entry
Visitors must have a current passport valid for more than six months beyond their intended stay, adequate funds to support themselves, and an onward or return airline ticket.  A Visa may be required depending on your length of stay and nationality.  Check with the nearest embassy of the country you wish to visit before traveling.

Weather
The climate is tropical around 84F with year-round high humidity. The rainy season is October-December.  Typhoons can occur between August and December but are rare in Truk.

Water
The water temperature is around 81F all year round.  The visibility often exceeds 150 feet and can even top 200 feet.  When there is a current, visibility can vary from 30 feet up to 100 feet, with the average being around 50-60 feet.

Currency
The US dollar is the official currency.  Major credit cards and travelers checks are widely accepted.  If you are traveling to more remote islands check your credit card and traveler checks validity with the hotel/resort you are staying at before you travel.

Language
English is the official language of the government and of commerce.  It is commonly spoken and understood.  Many elderly people are also fluent in Japanese and some speak Chuukese.

Health
No immunizations or vaccinations are required unless travelers are coming from an infected area.

Electricity
110 volt and US type outlets are used.

Departure Tax
The departure tax is US $15.
