Liosliath has five major clans, each of the major clans has holdings (land). The
five clans, current Pennaeth’s (clan head),Caer (Castle/Keep), known for are:
Clan Pennaeth Caer Known for
Gulban Bedwyr Gulban Righ smiths, weapons, jewelry, river boats
Docartaig Caitlin Docartaig Wiell sailors, bards
Duthchas Sarai Duthchas Donn tapestries, fabrics, blue dye.
Melaghlin Rian Melaghlin Pent healers, herbalists and apothecaries
McDaid Llewelyn McDaid Cein barren lands, horses
Note: The five major clans have control all the land in Liosliath. This
was not always the case, in history there were many clans who held land. In
time the strongest of the clans took over the lands of the weaker or the
smaller clans joined up with one of the larger more powerful clans. The smaller
clan became part of the major clan. The minor clan head MAY have been left to
take care of what was his/hers lands though those lands would be the
Pennaeths.
Note on the roster, the Ducs all are of a minor clan, +info *name will
show you something like Clan: Riabhaigh who had joined with clan Docartaig.
What this also allows is players to have their own surname and be part of one
of the major clans.

Clan Name Gulban
Caer (Keep/Castle) Caer Righ
Holdings Lands bounded by Naithair Mountains to north (with Garragg on other
side of mountain range), Tannis river to east, Melaghins clan holdings to
south and Duthchas clan holdings to west. The southern portion of the holdings
wraps under the Duthchas holdings and is bordered to the south by the Melaghlin
holdings and to the west by the Iarthar Ocean
The clan has been mining the Naithair Mountains for generations and are reputed
to have master smiths who craft the best weapons in all of Liosliath. The
Tannis River goes underground here, under the Naithair Mountains to north.
Members of the Gulban clan have long sought, without success, a means to follow
the underground river. Gulban jewelry craftspeople are unsurpassed, pieces
feature gold and gemstones from where the underground river emerges.
Accomplished river boatman, they use the Tannis River as the primary means of
travel southwards the length of Liosliath to Carraig and have a substantial
number of river boats.

Clan Name Docartaig
Caer (Keep/Castle) Caer Wiell
Holdings Southern lands of Liosliath, bounded at north-east by McDaids clan
holdings and northwest by Melaghins clan holdings. The eastern shoreline is on
the Bay of Lathi, the western on the Iarhtar Ocean. Carraig the port city, on
the eastern coastline just south of where the Tannis River empties into the
eastern ocean, is home to Caer Glas which is the Thane of Liosliaths keep and
where the fabled White Tower is. Stanyon Mountains are to the immediate
southwest of Carraig.
Many of the best sailors have hailed from the Docartaigs. A hamlet in the
northeast corner of the holdings has over the years come to be where bards
meets thrice a year. With the Thanes castle of Caer Glas and the port city of
Carraig within the Docartaigs holdings, the Docartaigs have over time taken
more of a direct involvement in the protection of Caer Glas and Carraig.
NEWS DOCARTAIG
Clan Name Duthchas
Caer (Keep/Castle) Caer Donn
Holdings Lands bounded by Naithair Mountains to north (with Garragg on other
side of mountain range), Gulbans clan holdings to east and Iarthar Ocean to
west. Caer Donn keeps vigil over whatever comes through Vik Pass, one of the
two high passes through the Naithair Mountains.
Of all of Liosliath, the Duthchas clan has had the most exposure to Garragg, as
such are very wary of any outsiders. Within the holdings is village where is
practiced a secret technique for making tapestries, featuring a special blue
dye from a plant that grows in the foothills of the Naithair Mountains, the
tapestries and blue fabrics are in demand by all of Liosliath. The White
Company maintains a small fortified tower, Caer Fionn, in the holdings.
NEWS DUTHCHAS -
Clan Name Melaghlin
Caer (Keep/Castle) Caer Pent
Holdings Lands are bounded by Tannis River to east (McDaid clan holdings are
on eastern side of river), Docartaig clan holdings to south, Iarthar Ocean to
the west and Gulban clan holdings to north. The Tannis River plummets in a
waterfall just north of the border of the Docartaig lands. From the Melaghlin
lands side of the falls (McDaid lands are on eastern side of Tannis River)
there is a dangerous ledge trail which disappears behind the thundering waters
of the falls. Some say a passageway to the Otherworld is behind the thundering
waters.
The Melaghlin healers are perhaps the best of Liosliath, perhaps attributed to
the herbalists and apothecaries who have gone beyond the other clans.
NEWS MELAGHLIN
Clan Name McDaid
Caer (Keep/Castle) Caer Cein
Holdings Lands are bounded by Naithair Mountains to the north, (with Garragg
on other side of mountain range). East ocean to east and Docartaig clan
holdings to the south and Tannis River to the west. Gulban holdings and
Melaghlin holdings are on the west side of the Tannis River. Caer Cein
maintains vigil over Piorad Pass, one of the two high passes through the
Naithair Mountains. The eastern point of the holdings where Garragg, Mordant
and Liosliaths borders meet remains barren, mute evidence of the devastation
the mages wrought in circa 1500. Supposedly there are caves and underground
passageways in the barren lands, few travel there.
McDaid mages are often times strongest in wind magics, earth mages are rare.
In the southern area of the McDaid holdings, horses reputed to be the most
superior of all Liosliath are breed and raised.
