As the clans survival relies on    </div> <div> Liosliaths survival against outside forces the clans will have to work        </div> <div> together. Hand fasting is more of a    </div> <div> betrothal (engagement) or a "trial marriage" than a true marriage and will last</div> <div> six months. During this trial marriage the couple may or may not live under one</div> <div> roof.                                                                          </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> Marriage is very much a partnership, for mutual protection and companionship,  </div> <div> marriage is essentially contractual, social, not religious (unless the couple  </div> <div> so wishes), and is based on the freedom of both parties. Generally, married    </div> <div> couples are as loath to break their bonds as they are to break any other oath. </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> Sometimes marriage for various reasons just does not succeed, and there is no  </div> <div> social stigma to divorce. Divorce simply acknowledges the terms of the marriage</div> <div> contract had been violated by one party of the other. Divisions of property    </div> <div> depend on the original marriage contract, the situation of the divorce, the    </div> <div> amount of property brought into the union by each party and the amount of work </div> <div> done by each of the parties.
