We cannot stress it enough: NO character may </div> <div> in any way harm another character, or start any kind of scene, without first   </div> <div> receiving OOC permission from other characters player to do so.               </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> Consent also means that during RP you should not force your actions to other   </div> <div> players. If your actions involve something happening to other players, you     </div> <div> should request their permission in page first.                                 </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> An example: Niahl is in a scene with Caitlin and suddenly wants to toss        </div> <div> snowball at her face. There is three ways to handle this action.               </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> 1) Niahl poses in a way that leaves the result open, like this: "Niahl tosses  </div> <div> snowball at Caitlin, aiming at her face." Caitlin is free to describe in her   </div> <div> own pose the result of Niahls action. This is typical of consent-based RP     </div> <div> which does not use skills or stats to determine the result.                    </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> 2) Niahl requests Caitlins OOC permission (consent) before his pose, like     </div> <div> this: Niahl pages, "Id like to toss snowball towards your face, is that ok    </div> <div> with you?" Caitlin pages back her reply, determining if she accepts the action </div> <div> at all, and whether it hits or not.                                            </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> 3) Players refer for the staff to GM the result. In this example, this might   </div> <div> happen if players agree to toss but for some peculiar reason can not decide    </div> <div> themselves, whether snowball hits or not.                                      </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> What Niahls player can not do, is simply have Niahl toss the snowball and have</div> <div> it hit Caitlin, without her permission, posing like this: "Niahl tosses        </div> <div> snowball and hits Caitlin straight in her nose." Of course, no-one can actually</div> <div> prevent you making such poses, but this is called power-playing, ie. posing in </div> <div> a way that forces things to happen to other player. That is very impolite and  </div> <div> irresponsible behaviour in a consent-based game, it should never be done.      </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div>                                   ICA = ICC                                    </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> Consent does not mean you are free to do anything you want, subject to above   </div> <div> rules. That is because this Mush is also ICA = ICC - in character actions equal</div> <div> in character consequences. What this means is that you can not hide behind     </div> <div> consent to avoid RP consequences your actions may have. When you use consent to</div> <div> do something, you consent other characters to respond with their own actions.  </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> Put simply this: when your character makes IC action, the player must consent  </div> <div> to face IC consequences. Continuing the example above, Niahl should be ready to</div> <div> accept that tossing snowball at Caitlin may get her ICly mighty angry. She may </div> <div> immediately walk away, have angry words with him or respond with hostile       </div> <div> actions (even if she OOCly gave her permission happily).                       </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> So while your character may request and receive consent from Thanes player to </div> <div> hit the Thane character, ICA = ICC means that you give Thane consent to respond</div> <div> to that action. Thane would be in his rights to toss your character into jail  </div> <div> to cool off for some time.                                                     </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> Consent rule on the other hand suggests that when your character asks from     </div> <div> Thanes player permission to hit him, Thanes player should warn the player of </div> <div> possible IC consequences of that action.                                       </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> So think first, then do silly things if you want to. Common sense is usually   </div> <div> enough to apply both consent and ICA = ICC rules. The Staff has always the     </div> <div> final judgement of the IC consequences when players are not able to find       </div> <div> agreement. If player refuses to cooperate with Staffs decision of IC          </div> <div> consequences, then Staff may power pose said consequences.                     </div> <div>                               -  NEWS CONSENT                                -</div> <bR> <div> It is our hope that everyone who comes to play on Anwethia is a mature,        </div> <div> responsible adult. Treat others like you would wish them to treat you, and     </div> <div> never **ever** forget the Consent rule. That in itself goes a long way.        </div> <div> However, we are only human. Subsequently the following rules apply to          </div> <div> harassment.                                                                    </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div>                              Forms of  <A NAME="harassmen"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A>harassment                               </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> Harassment can take many forms, such as intruding on privacy, anger and sexual </div> <div> harassment.                                                                    </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> - OOC Privacy - Respect the OOC privacy of others. Not everyone is comfortable </div> <div> with sharing RL information; dont dig for it. This goes both ways. Be certain </div> <div> that the other party wishes to know what you wish to share - before sharing.   </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> - Paging - If someone asks you to stop paging them, do so.                     </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> - Anger - Dont use foul language or degrade another player. This includes com </div> <div> channels.                                                                      </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> - Sexual harassment - Paging and/or trying to maneuver a character (either     </div> <div> OOCly or ICly) into TS when the other player has made it clear they are not    </div> <div> interested.                                                                    </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div>                            Dealing with harassment                             </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> When player feels being harassed, he/she must *specifically* speak out and     </div> <div> state his/her objections for harassment to be considered. We understand        </div> <div> sometimes people do not get along with each other IC or OCC, still we fully    </div> <div> expect all to respect each other.                                              </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> Players being harassed are to log the situation as it is happening and @mail or</div> <div> email the complete unedited log to admin. This log must include at least one   </div> <div> request to cease the behavior by the harassed.                                 </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> When harassment has occurred, the Staff will take steps to assist the harasser </div> <div> in correcting his/her behavior.                                                </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> If harassment still continues, the Staff will not be forgiving.                </div> <div>                             -  NEWS HARASSMENT                                </div> <bR> <div> IC - Liosliath is a  <A NAME="gender_neutral"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A>gender-neutral society. This includes marriage,            </div> <div> inheritance, adoption, and other laws related to relationships. Homosexuality  </div> <div> is not an issue in society or in law, and is not a subject of general          </div> <div> prejudices. This does not mean there may not be homophobic characters within   </div> <div> the world if such attitudes make IC sense to the specific character. Such objects shall not </div> <div> be set dark under any circumstances.                                           </div> <div>                               -  NEWS SPYING                                  </div> <bR> <div> The MUSH policy on  <A NAME="tinysex"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A>Tinysex is, put simply: Get a room.                         </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> While TS is not forbidden, but a matter of personal choice and role-playing    </div> <div> preference, we believe that it is not a vital part of in public MUSH life.     </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> For those not sure what we mean by TS (tiny sex), it is sexual acts or         </div> <div> conversations performed online between PCs.                                   </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div>                    TS in public rooms is *NOT* acceptable.                     </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> Public TS is defined as behavior of a lewd sexual nature in a public place. A  </div> <div> public place is a room where you would not ICily need invitation to go. The    </div> <div> city square is public; a characters bedroom isnt.                             </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> Any on-camera rape scene, whether in private or in public, whether with or     </div> <div> without consent, will lead to an immediate and irreversible siteban for the    </div> <div> players in question. This is not negotiable.                                   </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> NOTE: We cant control the level of TS on the MUSH - nor do we wish to! This   </div> <div> said, dont let it get in the way of your public RP. Spending all, or the      </div> <div> majority of, your time in a private room will be frowned upon.                 </div> <div>                                 -  NEWS TS                                    </div> <bR> <div> Staff will from time to time run TPs ( <A NAME="tiny_plots"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A>Tiny Plots), we will make every effort  </div> <div> to involve as many people as we can and who express interest in being involved </div> <div> in TPs. We cant read your minds, if you are interested in TPs make that     </div> <div> known. If you are involved with a TP, make all efforts to be online and active </div> <div> when scenes are scheduled. We understand, as you do, RL must come first. The   </div> <div> staff person running the TP will make all possible arrangements to be online   </div> <div> during scheduled scenes or to have someone fill in for him/her - we and your   </div> <div> fellow players expect the same consideration from you.                         </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> Players are free and encouraged to run TPs with or without staff involvement. </div> <div> We do ask if the player run TP will have any far reaching impacts that TP is   </div> <div> discussed with and cleared with staff.                                         </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div> Staff is not and cannot be expected to drive all RP, by being part of this mush</div> <div> your PC has responsibilities in generating and participating in Role Play.     </div> <div>                                 -  NEWS TP                                    </div> <bR> <div> Players will be allowed private rooms; of course, spending all your time hidden</div> <div> away in a private room defeats the entire purpose of the game and will be      </div> <div> frowned upon.                                                                  </div> <div> Any building ideas for public RP must be approved by Staff before you start. If</div> <div> the project is deemed, by staff, in the best interests of the game then        </div> <div> additional arrangements can be made.                                           </div> <div> On objects - any object that logs conversations must be made known in the      </div> <div> object description with a OOC note. A character who has been approved, has been IC and does not login for 30</div> <div> days. We understand RL may require abscences for greater than 30 days, if such </div> <div> is the situation the player must contact staff and arrangements will be made.  </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div>     2. Character has accepted the AUP, has not submitted a background and does </div> <div> not log in for 10 days.                                                        </div> <div>                                                                                </div> <div>     3.
