I'm Lane, otherwise known by my callsign 'Mickey', and that's a picture of me, ready to fly, to the left, ha ha. My partner, Steve and I, are co-owners of an SGS 1-26C, serial number 050, that we bought in 1999. 050 is equipped for cross-country flying with a radio, barograph, turnpoint cameras, handheld GPS mount, and an Oxygen system. Although, neither of us are experienced cross-country pilots, we have a lot of fun flying with and learning cross-country soaring from the other Skid Row pilots. We team fly 050 at Goal Strike and on the many of the Soaring Safari's, and manage to keep everyone confused about who is flying each day. I am called 'Mickey' whether I'm pilot or crew, and likewise for Steve and his callsign 'Wildcat'. A brief summary of my flying history includes 300+ hours of flight time, with over 200 hours in 050. I'm checked out in aero, auto, and winch tows, and fly limited aerobatics. Spins are a blast. My longest cross-country flight, so far, has been 173 miles, so that Gold Distance flight of 300km has remained elusive. Maybe next year...
