INTRODUCTION TO EUCHARISTIC ADORATION PROGRAMS

             We are pleased and privileged to be asked to assist you as you inaugurate your Eucharistic Adoration program in your parish.  Enclosed you will find guidelines on start-up procedures, approaching your pastor, detailed step-by-step procedures in introducing adoration within your parish, and finally, the necessary documents to support your adoration program.

             The most important thing in beginning your journey is prayer.  With prayer, all things are possible.  Begin by designating a small group of lay people who are willing to commit themselves to administering and supporting Eucharistic Adoration.  Most pastors have not agreed to allow adoration simply because they are overburdened with administrative work. 

             When your group has been established and before you approach your pastor, it is suggested that you attend adoration as a group and have a brief prayer meeting afterwards.  Invoke the Holy Spirit’s guidance and discuss an approach to your pastor.  Ask among you who would be willing to lead the group to speak to the pastor.  All decisions should be reached with prayer beforehand.

 1.  GUIDELINES ON APPROACHING A PARISH AND SUGGESTED STEPS TO IMPLEMENTING EUCHARISTIC ADORATION ONCE APPROVED BY THE PASTOR

 2.  ORGANIZATIONAL IMPLEMENTATION OF EUCHARISTIC ADORATION IN YOUR PARISH, which also contains an Organization and Implementation Chart, a Description of Organizational Responsibilities, and a sample Eucharistic Adoration Sign-Up Sheet.  The sample sign-up sheet should be altered to fit your specific needs.  It is helpful to remember that some businesses have photocopying machines that can take a standard 8 1/2 by 11 inch sign-up sheet and reproduce it to poster size.

 3.  THREE SAMPLE TALKS AT THE MASSES DURING THE SIGN-UP WEEKEND. Please feel free to revise any of the talks to reflect your specific needs.  We have also included a two-sided handout sheet to distribute as parishioners leave the church after Masses.  We also recommend that you obtain the holy card from "FOR THOSE WHO HURT" (1-610-687-7660) for distribution.  We strongly feel that Our Lord works very powerfully through this card.

4.  GUIDELINES FOR EUCHARISTIC ADORERS, LIST OF SOME DEVOTIONAL BOOKS AND PAMPHLETS, AND A SAMPLE ADORER SIGN-IN SHEET.  Again, you may alter or add to the sheets to meet your specific needs.
