I breed selectively and not on a regular basis. All dogs bred are evaluated for hip and elbow dysplasia, eye disorders, vonWillebrands disease. To try to produce sound and healthy puppies, dogs who are bred have OFA and CERF certifications. All health information and evaluations are shared with puppy buyers.

Our puppies are raised in the house and socialized with dogs and a wide variety of people. Their exercise and mental stimulation as youngsters is important to me and we make both a priority.  Puppies stay here until they are at least 8 weeks of age.

I believe one of the keys to health for these dogs is building a strong immune system. With that in mind, the puppies are weaned on a combination of raw food and quality kibble. Each is sent home with a puppy diet and guidelines for healthy feeding. For those who would like to feed raw, I provide a bibliography of wonderful literature. I also provide guidelines on vaccinations and supplements.

All puppies are sold with a written contract to clearly spell out expectations. There is also a limited guarantee for orthopedics. Though I do all I can to breed from only clear dogs and pedigrees, hip and elbow problems are affected by diet and environment and I realize that once the puppies leave, I must rely on the new parents to continue the level of care. I remain available throughout the life of the pup for guidance and support.
