Current Puppy AvailabilityWe do not have any puppies available at this time. How Often do we have Pups?Naturally you may wonder when the next litter is expected. Please be assured that here we are dealing with life and life's unpredictable nature. It could be quite a while before we have a litter again. When you go with another breeder, our advice is to go with an SABT breeder in good standing. Tail Docking PolicyPlease note that . Cosmetic surgery on dogs had been outlawed in Scandanavian countries as far back as 1987. The advanced European countries outlawed it, so did Australia, New Zealand, England and even South Africa is getting on board with banning it. Attie Badenhorst (SA Breeder) has an informative article on tail cropping. Please take a look at his (Baden Boerboel) site for more information in this regard. Buyer/Seller AgreementThere is a buyer/seller agreement that is signed by both Arizona Boerboels and the buyers of Arizona Boerboel puppies. PricingPup prices range from $1,100 to $2,000 and sometimes up to $2,500. The higher up you are in the pup selection order, the higher the price of the pup. The price is influenced too when we use a proven breeding pair. The usual puppy prices are then:
Pup ClassificationPet QualityPet quality pups are those that are not deemed suitable for breeding. Very seldom do we get any of these pups though. When you buy one of these pups, the agreement is that the pup will be sterilized. The SABT will also record the pup's status accordingly. Breed QualityThese are the breedable pups. You may breed with these dogs. However we encourage you to keep close tabs with Arizona Boerboels on the puppy and its potential as stud/bitch as well as finding a suitable breeding partner. At no time will such a pup be used for breeding unless the pup and its mate both have clean hips. The buyers of these pups receive an SABT issued birth certificate when we either receive proof of good hips (from PennHIP or Dr. Kirberger in South Africa) or proof that the pup had been spayed/neutered. Pick of the LitterUsually in each litter there is one male and one female pick of the litter puppy. In the cases where there is only one puppy of a given gender, the pick of the litter status gets reviewed by the third week. If the puppy is exceptional, the pick of the litter status remains. When there are no puppies in a given gender, obviously there can be no pick of the litter for that gender. From time to time Arizona Boerboels keeps one of their own puppies. When that happens, the pick of the litter buyer gets to pick after Arizona Boerboels made their selection. When there is more than four pups in a given sex, there could be two pick of the litter pups in that sex. Only breed quality puppies are available for the pick of the litter selections. Our pick of the litter and breed quality pups come with hip guarantees. Puppy SelectionArizona Boerboels assists the buyers with their puppy selection. We have ways of picking the puppies up to predict their top lines and angulation for instance. We go over the puppies' characteristics with the buyers as well as temperaments although that only really starts showing at seven weeks of age. Selections are being made in week six after their first vet visit and the selections are made in the order we received your deposits. Pick of the litter buyers get to go first followed by the breed quality buyers (in the order they placed their deposits). Buying ProcessDeposits can be taken pretty much any time. It is half the cost of the puppy. If the litter does not arrive, or the deposit is for a given sex and there is not enough puppies in the given sex for all buyers, those buyers decide for themselves what they want to do with the deposit. Once the pups are born, the deposits are non-refundable. Puppies go to their owners between the ages of seven and eight weeks. If you come to pick the puppy up yourself, the final payment has to be made that day. If the pup gets delivered to the buyer, the final payment as well as delivery expenses will have to be sent a week before delivery. At the time of pick up or shipment of the pup, Arizona Boerboels should be in posession of the buyer/seller agreement signed by the buyer. Pickup and Delivery of the PupsArizona Boerboels can hand carry and deliver puppies to an airport close to you. We seldom put puppies in a crate and ship them as freight. But please take note that if you need a pup shipped/carried to you, you will have to be very flexible regarding shipment date and perhaps destination airport. Before committing to getting a pup from us that you want taken to you, please make sure this form of delivery will work out for all. At least two weeks before the pups need to be picked up, Arizona Boerboels let the buyers know the week they need to pick their pups up by. Sometimes there are a LOT of puppies in a litter meaning we have maybe a dozen people or so to schedule. You really will have to be flexible on your specific/assigned pick up date. It almost never happen, but if for some reason you are unable to pick the puppy up that designated week, the pup will be looked after for a limited time by Arizona Boerboels. This has to be arranged in advance by the buyer and the pup has be be paid for in full at the time plus there is a kenneling charge of $25 per day. |
