ACTIVITIES:
ALL
ACTIVITIES ARE MEMBER DRIVEN AND IF NO INTEREST IS SHOWN, THE ACTIVITIES
SCHEDULED WILL BE CANCELLED VIA Yahoo.
Park Day Activities: The worst thing that can happen is to show up to something that
has been cancelled. Before you venture
out to park day, please check the yahoo calendar.
Some events may cancel. The person in
charge of an event is to cancel by posting on the yahoo site the night before the event.
Proposed Events: Many events are already
posted on the calendar. Still, our
group is flexible. Our members have so
much creativity that many new ideas can still be implemented! Try to keep things simple, and keep time and
expenses low. Bring your ideas to
the Core Members in writing so we can help you with these new activities and
opportunities.
Meetings: Our
meetings are under two hours, are fast and brief. We are there long enough to make sure our events are being taken
care of so we can return to our families.
Space is limited. Please have
your Committee Member call the President if you wish you to attend.
Crafts: Crafts are a wonderful part of our
group. Still, we can only have them if
one of you volunteers an idea for the month.
Please give your ideas to the Special Events Coordinator for suggestions
and help for your project. It is not
our job to tell you what to do, but to help you do what you would like. You will need to give a list of items you
need for your moms to bring to park day.
These can be posted on the yahoo site two weeks and one week before your
activity.
Classes: Classes
such as Mad Science and “A Point in Time” can be brought to the park if you are
interested. Volunteers are needed to
collect names, phone numbers, and cash on a per student basis to be handed to
the Treasurer. Space is often first
come, first serve and will be open to other groups if we do not have enough
membership participation.
Co-ops and clubs are
welcome: Please contact a Core Member
if you wish help to start one or feel free to start one of your own.
Fairs and Festivals: Committee Members and Committee Volunteers are needed for the
History fair and/or Arts Festival (music, talents, crafts, arts). Your talents and ideas are welcome.
Field Trips: Volunteers are needed to set up field
trips. If you would like to do one and
don’t know how, Anne Stone will be happy to assist you through the process to
ensure success. You will be expected to
post the events on the yahoo calendar, let people know in advance for
cancellations, contact the facility, collect the monies and monitor the
progress. Special field trips like the
Renaissance Festival or Zoo will occur yearly.
Yearbook: The group will offer individual pictures as well as group
pictures. Pictures of your own children participating in activities should be taken
BY YOU to make sure your family is represented in the yearbook. Reminders
will occur before any potluck activity at the park and with field trips. If you do NOT want you child’s picture on
the website, please mark it on the membership listing now.
