I grew up on the campus of Gallaudet College in Washington, D.C., which at the time was the only college for the deaf in the country.  It is now Gallaudet University.   Besides the deaf college students, there was also a teacher training course for "normals".  And a school for grades K through 12, called Kendall School, which had its own dorms and was not only a school for the deaf children in the DC area, but also a teacher training and research facility.

I was born in March of 1934, and moved to Gallaudet when I was 3 years old.   My father was a professor of mathematics there.  My grandfather was the President of Gallaudet, and my Uncle Jonny (Daddy's brother) taught biology there, but lived off-campus with his family.

I've written some recollections of my childhood, and you're welcome to stroll down Memory Lane with me as I recall the Good Old Days.
