This tournament created a huge tie with 4-1 among eight players. The Masters and Experts split 2nd-3rd and top Expert for $105 and Doug Stanley earned more by taking clear Top Classs A. FM Ilye Figler drew with his two carmates Privman and Reichstein; Adu lost to Matt Grinberg; Reichstein drew with Figler and Grinberg, ; Uesugi lost to Privman; Daniel Clancy had a Rd 1 bye and drew with Stanley in the last round; Aryan Khojandi lost to Figler, Grinberg drew with Reichstein and Floyd Boudeaux and Doug Stanly had a 1/2 bt bye and drew with Clancy.

A player to watch is 14 year old Aryan Khojandi. He recently went 7-0 in the A section of the DC Chess League and bypassed the 1900's completely by jumping from 1888 to 2000 in one supplement. Coming up next at GMU is the 2006 ACC Club Championship over the weekend of Dec 9-10. In 2007,on the last weekend of April we will have the George Mason Open.
