Seward

Seward is a small, quiet, scenic town on the Kenai Peninsula. There is a wonderful aquarium, some great restaurants and some awesome wildlife boat tours.

Seward is pretty quiet, especially early in the morning. This is a shot of downtown Seward. Lots of little bars, hotels and restaurants.

The Alaska Sealife Center as the sun is rising. Some of the money from the Exon Valdez oil spill recovery fund was used to create the Sealife Center which servers as a wildlife recovery & research center and aquarium.

Helly Hansen's had the tour registration desk at one end and a shop that sold all sorts of weather gear at the other end. You could find everything from warm hats to gloves to full rain slicks. You could come up with all sorts of ideas on how Helly got his name but his shop is a pretty handy place to stock up pre-tour.

There was a coal loader for the local mining operation in the harbor. It was pretty much the biggest piece of machinery in the whole town.
