Saca was Carol's soul mate
and although she was not a good specimen of the breed, she
did earn 19 points, including one major and numerous BOS
placements as a "filler".
What she lacked in breed type,
she more than made up for in field ability. On one hunting
trip, a pheasant flew down the field about four feet above
the ground, with all seven hunters emptying their shotguns
without hitting the bird. Saca gave chase and literally took
the bird out of the air, delivering it - still squawking - to
Carol's hand. In the 12 years she hunted with us, we never
lost a bird in the field.
