Ode to Storm
Back Up Next

A year ago your mistress left,
unto the great beyond;
But you stayed with me
and helped me see,
that life would still go on.

Each morning I’d awake to see,
you laying next to me;
Your warmth and love
you gave to me,
for all the world to see.

My breakfast you would share —
for you were always there;
A shining face,
an Angel’s face,
you were my saving grace.

Mom had chose another,
to stay when she had gone;
But made you promise
you would stay,
to teach her how to play.

A year has passed and she is here,
to take your place with me;
And with an Angel’s love,
you smiled at me,
before you were set free.

Now I ask a promise,
for you to keep for me;
‘Til we are all together,
the way it was meant to be —
Take good care of her for me.
