When we got our first basenji, I knew instantly that
Lindy was unique. She combined exquisite intelligence, deep
emotional sensitivity, an independent spirit, and a
distressing tendency to question my authority.
I researched pack dynamics and learned how to be Alpha.
As I grew into my role as pack leader, the four of us - two
humans and two basenjis - tightened into a peaceful working
unit. We became a pack, and entered into an age-old,
inter-species partnership.
