Polly Branch's Rainbow Children, a commissioned work for the community, allows for a glimpse into the creative process. To date, more than 25 local students--and some adults--have helped to place tiles on the sculpture. The mosaic discs balance on the earth, presenting rainbow designs that "endure the test of time."

Polly Branch is known for her local landscape paintings of Virginia forests, and her mosaics and sculpture are appreciated in public and private settings. Large wall paintings are displayed inside the Roanoke Food Co-op on Grandin Road, and her mosaics include locations on Memorial Avenue and ni Hurt Park and Clearbrook elementary schools.

"It has been delightful talking with the neighbors," said Polly recently. If you see her working next time you pass by, be sure to say hello.
