Art Ludwig's Sound Files
This site is an annex to my primary site at www.thesoundpage.com. Due to storage limitations only a partial selection of files are posted here. For additional files send me an e-mail. There is also a limit on total data transfer of 300 Mb per month, and if this is exceeded the files on this site will temporarily be unavailable.
Amplifier Distortion Demo Files
The Vivaldi segment reference file, and files for the single-ended triode, the push-pull pentode, and the solid-state amplifier models, are available for download. Each file is 1.5 MB. The average output power for each of the three amps is 16% of the maximum power they can produce. For a pure sine wave at the same power level, the three amps would be rated at a total harmonic distortion (THD) of 4%, 0.2%, and <.001% respectively. The Joe Sample jazz selection will be sent by request.
The single 440 Hz tone reference file, and files for the single-ended triode, and the solid-state amplifier models, are available for download. Each file is 0.72 MB. The THD for the single-ended triode is 5% and for the solid state THD is 0.5%.
Frequency discrimination: tone burst pairs at 400-400, 400-402, and 400-404 Hz [176kb].
400-400, 400-404, 400-402 by request.
HRTF files [630 kb each].
The first file uses complete HRTFs for -60, -30, 0, 30, and 60 degrees in azimuth and 20 degrees elevation. The second file uses HRTFs where the relative time difference between the right and left ears has been removed, and the third file removes the relative amplitude differences. There are 3 additional files where the real HRTFs are replaced with a single spike for each ear, available by request.
Reflections and Echoes
The reference sound for these files is the -30 degree HRTF file. The demo files play the reference, and then the reference plus one echo with various delays. The echo amplitude is -3 dB below the reference level. For the first file the delays are 25, 50, 100, and 400 milliseconds. for the second file the delays are 0.1, 0.5, 1, and 2 milliseconds. Both available by request.
